put a gnx motor in that thing and real big turbo, some nos for the spool, tub it, and run em!!!!! you wanna see the costs of getting a gnx to 600hp? its cheaper than than a vg30 any day of the week if your mouthpiece has any skill in it at all and thats real!!!

hey pretty soon im gonna have to finally go and replace these nasty ass floor boards and frame rails of mine, probably fab up some thicker floors and tougher tubular rails, i know at least one of you guys has subframe connectors, is there a place that makes them, doubt, can i get some pics from you guyz pretty please???

Has anyone used the nissan 5 speed trans ?
fl327 replied to ZROSSA's topic in Gen I & II Chevy V8 Tech Board
i dont think its wise to use the nissan five speed tranny behind a v8, if that was your intention. its pretty easy to locate trannies for them. which tranny from nissan do you mean, if its from a 300zxtt or a skyline, they should work, but bolting them up and making it talk to a v8 right doesnt sound like fun..... -
small world, my heater core blew up and flooded my passenger side floor last week, and i called my homies and asked the same question, and the answer is yes- cut it and loop them into each other, its that easy, i promptly ran into my house and came back out with a razor and a screwdriver, the whole ordeal lasted two minutes, and i looked like a real man in public

youre setup sounds just like mine, but i dont have half that stuff on my car, 1.92 heads with roller rockers should be great with a 600cfm, you got a nice gently upgraded motor right there, have you done all of your interval maintainance to this point? sounds like a strong motor, your combo sounds good, also remember, the performer only makes good power from idle-5500, even if you went crazy with the bumpstick, you couldnt get its full potential, but that doesnt mean you can bump it up a notch, maybe a performer series cam, and get in that carb, hope i dont sound dumb or anything, im just not into spending money if i dont have to, and i hope you are too...
-
someone told me once that black makes a little more horspower for some reason or another, maybe something to do with heat>? me i dont believe it, and i dont believe that high heat enamel makes a difference that much, i go rustoleum every time, its the toughest paint there is, but i dont give a rat turd about that, or bolt ons for that matter, except nitrous!! yes, i saw fast and teh furious

skyline tail lights, do it, i wont but i think it would look good. the 280z girls rear end is great, so is the car.

oh man i wish i had a choice like that. the lt1 is a great motor and can be found for an ok price, but a carbed 350 can go from 50-????? dollars depending on how solid your mouthpiece device works. lt1 is a harder install, but the power is great with simple bolt ons. a carbed 350 is great because, well, its a chevy and the whole world knows how to work on them, i think one out of three people can spit out the firing order on a chevy in three seconds, i know all of us can! me, i run a carbed v8 and i freakin love it, the tuning and the simplicity overwhelm me sometimes, but tuning is a constant with a carbed motor and youre always bent over your car doing something to it, but its cheap! the lt1, not so cheap, but has aluminum heads and a great power band, definitely my next choice is motorvation, the one thing i think is terrible is the opti spark located behind the water pump, that really chaps my hide, but hey, you get the injection, the smooth ride, the quiet-er driving, a tiny advantage in weight distribution, and the HEAT!!! my opinion Leonard when the 327 blows, Lt1 in she goes....

i was thinking about going that route too, but too many kids out in my part of town are jumping on it, i was thinking about the old z28 side vents myself, hey if youre not too far from the bay i can slip those fender grills in for player price buddy!!!!
-
i dont say nothing to a guy that made their z look like a ferrari, except SKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRTTTT!!!!
-
yeah, the shocks are important, but not as important as good springs, but they do go hand in hand. im running scarab springs and kybs up front, too dang stiff, almost every bump sends shocks through my spine, but i like it!
-
do you want a z or a vette? you do all that work on a swap and then you turn it into the car whose heart you stole? me, i like the idea of a car that looks aggresive yet has a rep for not being heated, then whoopin that ass with authority... if you really want a c4, get one and put a nitrous 502 six speed in it, youll save lots of money and be really really fast, with a rearend and frame that will love you for it! just my thoughts, sorry. Lenster

cmon now, junkyards have them dogs everywhere for 280zs.... for pennies, pennies i say!

you go and stack up those replys davey....

hey theres nothing wrong with being an inliner, except when you get stuck at a red light with a tall guy in a red 240 with a gigantic grin on his face, j/k (kinda) how are the shocks? and how much tread left on those front tires??? i rotated tires once when i should not have (rears were so bald that steel threads were showing) and it had the bumpsteer from hell.. you say the tires are kinda old, that may be the reason. hope this helps Leonard "posi rear, have no fear, your whole block has just been served"

oh god the smelll!!!!!!
-
hey how much do you want for those flares, and what kind of shape are they in??????
-
whoa that z looks good, i was thinking about running those motorsort cobra r rims, i like the rivet looking lip they got there, so fresh and so clean, but the chrome panasport idea is still there, and probably a little easier to come by by means of my greedy pockets
-
looks clean, but i have a problem with that liscence plate box
-
good points, hope im not too late too chime in here. i love my muncie to death, and if you have one ready, i say rockit, i run it with a 1"tilton mc to the stock datsun slave and a little adjustment to the pedal to make it engage and disengage right. yes the rpms are kinda high on the freeway, im at 2600-3000 but luckily i dont do too much freeway driving. i run the 3.36 and thats as good as it gets for now, i would like to swap to a wc t-5 or a doug nash five speed, because i could still use my scatter shield which may save my legs one day. one problem is the external linkage,it has binded up on me twice in the past, and i took a sawzall to my tranny tunnel and pulled it out and bolted up some new sheet metal that bulges for clearance, and hid it with carpet, not only does it work great for me, but when i need to pull the tranny i can almost do the whole job in the drivers seat! what im trying to say is that once you have that setup going for you, you can have a lot more options for you that will rock the free world. hope it helps Leonard "skyline killer, nissan killer"
-
hey right now im running a 1" tilton to the stock datsun slave, works fine after i adjusted the pedal, would that have to change as well with the t-5? im currently running the rockcrusher, and that dog right there is rockin the free world, but i would love to have me some od time... Leonard "it aint comin out till she wont spin no mo"

thanx guyz, im still doing my homework on this one, im still at the suspension braking part of the game, as well as chassis reinforcements, im thinking that a the vette irs from a big block model may be the one to get????? it seems like no matter what ive done to reinforce the r200, i get a little thunk-dramatically reduced by new driveshaft bolts and a solid diff mount which vibrates a little but holds the thunk out better, but not enough to make me confident in a car i plan to run 12's and autocross in....

im a chevy man, but i like 86-93 5.0's a whole lot, and i personally think that years motor and trans is a hot combo to stick in a z, the 305 that came in irocs with a t-5 doesnt compare to the rollerization in stock form. it really likes to rev, with a nice punch in the top end, and it sounds cool too. personally, i would like to see some mopar in a z as well, like a 440 six pack a33 combo with the shaker hood scoop, maybe a grabber green paint job too, hey. i have just found chevy parts to be very abundant and price friendly, and thats just my pref.
-
stony, how much you want for dem flares man??? we the same color and now i have access to a paint shop, time to cut and paste!!!!
-
i think that if the z has good frame rails and floors, then clean up the rails and reinforce them with some tubular steel, if not, cut em out and put in some thicker floors and rails, and fab some subframe connectors and youre good. get a roll bar or cage to reinforce further, and let em rip
