  2. i just did a turbo swap into my 240z and was told 10lbs of boost would be fine but i should swap out the ecu and all the fuel related stuff if i plan on anything above that which i believe is right around 250hp (accounting the 3 inch exhaust also) correct?
  3. see its nice to have a higher compression engine but whats the advantage? all you have to do is turn up the boost on a lower compression engine to make the same power. see you can turn down the boost but you cant turn down the compression. and as to why the turbo engine is better like i said before it is BUILT for the app. in other words not only are the internals built for that but the block and everything else is also. it really doesnt make any sense to waste money on something when you can buy whats already available. pointless.
  4. they make a fuss because the TURBO engine is built for TURBO appication and the NATURALLY ASPIRATED engine is built for NATURALLY ASPIRATED application. the entire engine is built different. they dont want to waste the time and money on an engine that has no potential unless it is rebuilt with the proper components when they can buy an engine that is designed with that kind of abuse in mind. it doesnt make any sense.
  5. the orange one hands down. all around decent shape. and with the money you DONT have to spend on the body or interior you can use to put your own personal touch to something such as performance parts and such!!!!
  6. for my turbo swap on my 240 i used a 4 inch wide piece of abs tubing and threw caps on either end. ran three fittings off the top and one off the bottom and so far it has worked great! total cost was $17 at lowes
  7. or like previously posted an l28et would be the most cost effective, strongest, easiest motor to swap. it will hold up to MUCH higher power levels with stock engine components than any sr or ka and last twice as long. may not be as "cool" but who cares when youre shittin on ricky ricer in his sr swapped sx for a 1/4 of what he paid for his "silvia" conversion.
  8. i have an 83 280zx 2+2 needs a dash motor ttops and rear brakes. you can have it if you tow it. no body damage except the front valance. i live about 1 hour east of sac. 72s30@live.com
  9. is that ok to do? and will using an ecu from an 82-83 work with it?
