took it apart, no labels though. It´s 4 screw pattern at 0° 90° 180° and 270° with a square opening in the middle (2 several holes for the plastic parts etc.) Horn is stamped Lucas from 11/1964

Hello,
I found this gem on a fleamarket in Berlin and had to buy it. Now I am struggling a bit to identify the wheel and make it fit to a 280z. Has anybody done that before? Looks like it could be an old VW/Porsche wheel, sadly no labeling (have to take it apart to see if one is hidden). Maybe a "Personal" wheel (Nardi)? I would like to keep the black plastig (Bakelit') stuff, at least the horn button.

@Seattlejester : 12.9 M8 Allen head? Like this?
-
did anybody try this ? Looks surprisingly like the original 240z weatherstripping. Does anybody have the original dimensions?

Dimensions here are metric, its 6,50€ per meter but i assume if you buy a bunch it gets less.

Deleted, i found S12W ones (they are on a VW Taro as it seems)

Definitely look into the very new Land Rover and Skoda colors. Especially the new LR Burgundy is cool (montalcino red)

jup, I can register a car if i can prove that the swap was done within 10 years of operation ^^
-
...classic car regulations here. Sadly no negotiation possible could modify after TÜV but thats illegal and I actually like the classic tuning idea

@Mario,
we already spoke about them but since i will go with lowering spring i am not sure they will work.

Hi,
I read a bit about BAE turbo kits for a 280z EFI model. Does anybody know when they started selling it? So far I heard that it´s crap or cool nostalgia , depending on whom you as or when you ask. Thing is this, I am not allowed to do any kind of swap, but allowed to use "period" tuning items commercially availible in a 10 year timeframe after registration.
So, is it worth looking for an old kit with a production date pre 86 or will the be too far gone already? I think this would be a nice to have item for possible later use but have no experience whatsoever with old (or new) turbos.
thanks,
Richard
EDIT: it was for sale in 1978....

those...already had found them but shipping is a pain since they are so long

Jup, it´s indeed a casting mark from Nissan Casting in Australia making things complicated? never! It´s called improving! (both the part and the chance of seeing you in a shop being miserable)

Hello,
to not clutter this are with too many threads, here is a list of stuff i would like to buy:
280z 2+2 Rocker Panel molding
280z 2+2 louver
2+2 Driveshaft (for 71C conversion) (i want to keep mine intact for the stock 4 speed to keep a "stock" version)
2+2 BRE Style airdam (Euro type or JDM Type)
Option a) shocks
Option lowering springs and shocks (mild lowering!)
maybe a tune up kit? My car is (hopefully ) still in California and I want to stash some parts before shipping.
EDIT: a header for square ports

okay that was my original intend. THought i was lucky but this way it´s fine
-
okay, thats what I will do next. As long as the core gives me a solid 5 speed for my Z I am good
-
well, only one way to figure it out. Was going to open it anyways. Anybody has experience if the Bellhousing fits a L6 engine ?
and thanks so far guys
-
okay, thats what i wanted to hear i wanted to get a 71C 5 speed (late model) since it has more synchros etc.
I was just wondering why there is a 71B bellhousing already attatched, and if I could use that one (instead of a donor one from a 4 speed)
(and why they casted a cangoroo picture on there ...)
Edit : looks like it´s a CA18DET gearbox which wasn´t sold to the US in this combination in a 200sx. So, is this a "good" 200sx box or some lesser suited box?
-
hmmm, thats not good, right? I just read up on boxes and thought this would be a 71C. But it should be suited for a swap ?
-
Hello,
i recently scored a 1992 200sx 5 speed (there was no 240 in Germany iirc, was still named 200sx) for my 280z 5 speed conversion [ 70.000 miles, 110$, all gears shifting].
So, the gearbox seems to be a 71C from the looks of it, but it has a "CA71B #2 Kangoroo" stamp on the bellhousing (no joke) .... isn´t this a 280z/zx bellhousing????
I hope i bought the correct one for the conversion....
-
2+2 version?
-
well, if somebody finds one more, i would be up for the second one (going S14 swap), but only after zeeboost got his...

Hi all,
i am looking for 280z manual bellhousing for transmission swap (want to modify it) preferred around Stockton, Ca . WIll be modified for an S13 5-speed swap. (I want to leave my 4-speed complete)
best regards,
Richard

so this is how it looks like. Seems like it has been modified to accept the plastic parts....
