  1. I was on a hunt for the 92's in 16's when i first bought my 240z but ended up going with 15's....which i eventually sold and bought other 17's the 16'' Enkeis fit our cars perfectly though. good luck with your hunt and i will keep my eye out for you as well! hahahhahahaha....classic!!
  2. can't afford a CLSD at the moment(unless someone has an one they are selling for extremely cheap:)) so i will go with the 3.5 or 3.7 r200 upgrade. Would prefer something that was resonantly running and ready to just swap into my 240z. I also need everything needed to complete the swap into my 72 240z. here is the list from the Diff thread; 1. mustache bar from 280Z with R200 2. yoke (companion flange) from 280Z with R200 3. rear cover from 280Z or ZX with R200 4. side stub shafts from 280Z or ZX with R200 to bolt up to stock halfshafts I'm on a tight budget and i would like to spend as little as possible so i can pick up locally. I also have many s30 body parts, stock suspension and other little things to trade. let me know what you are looking for. thanks, Rimal
  3. From what i have heard, if you stick with in the 245/40 tires size you should be fine with any rubbage and you can go up to 255 but you will here a little rubbing on the VG flairs. also depends on how low and soft your suspension is. you can probably get the best view of fitment on Myron's car on his thread here. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=135728 your car looks dangerous(badass) by the way. where in CA. are you?
  4. had a 73 240z but had to part it and now have a 72 so i wanted to keep the bumpers consistent with the year. looking for a bumper from an EARLY(pre 72) 240z. don't mind a few dings and dents, it's being stripped away and painted. I have a clean and pretty straight 73 240z bumper that i am willing to trade. I also have several parts that i would love to trade for. OR willing to just buy it for a reasonable price black corner rubber bumper things are crap though. i can take more pics upon request.
  5. congrats!! i wish i had luck like that with my first 240.
  6. WOW... great job, i can appreciate that because i went out and bought that P.O.S. Harbor freight sand blaster as well and it took forever to do my suspension and brakes!! good luck with the strip down and rotisserie!
  7. my bad. thanks for lmk. nice wheels. i have the same set, 14x7 almost 4 inch lip

  8. i ve got some 14 inch 280zx six spoke and some polished 14 inch mags. if interested , email me . can send you some pics. @ laker.fan.1@hotmail.com

  9. These wheels can look pretty bad ass with some work. here are my Enkies polished and repainted.
  10. well i don't have the car running at all, no engine, tranny, or anything really so i couldnt tell you much on travel. i have the springs sitting at the lowest point they can be at. when i put the 17"s over the other rims it definitely looked like i neded to raise it at least an inch BUT once i get my engine, tranny and 260lb self in the car i will definietly have to raise it much more. when i try to make the car jump, it doesnt at all. it goes down as far as i can push it and then right back up and stops. Pretty damn stiff. sorry i can't really be much help on this but i know there are a lot of other people using this same spring weight and struts.
  11. haha...you're the third person to ask today....they're my cousins track wheels, sorry.
  12. i do have a 10" spring. i had someone else section but i noticed that the MR2 insert is maybe an 1/8 if not less lower to allow room for the cap of the strut housing to screw down completely. Also, just in-case you didn't know the front 240z inserts were used in the rear. Also, the hole on the top strut hat for the MR2 inserts up front had to be drilled to make a an O from the D shaped hole. I was a little stumped when i was getting ready to put everything together and noticed the top hat didn't fit. Hope this helps.
  13. Thanks! here are some quick cell phone pics after the tires were mounted and balanced. I just propped them next the to wheels that are on the car.
  14. yep, i picked up the MR2 struts for the front from John at Beta Motorsports, he helped explain the process and was really helpful through out the install. The thread perch collar was welded on the the distance of the perch collar which lined up with the top of the strut tube. hope that makes sense!
  15. Thanks Bob! how are the floors coming out? I realized that AFTER i had already put the suspension in...i'll just have to wait untill i pull the suspension to paint he wheel wells... I wish...that was his last set and now he is sponsored by another company.
  16. haha hopefully i can actually use those up front! as soon as i finish painting the body itself i'll be moving onto the inner fender wells and they will definitely be black. Thanks, i hate that the half of the paint is covered up by the coil overs but still looks good. it hurts every time i think about it but almost 1K on the suspension including sectioning, a little over 1k on the rims and i got the tires for about for $300 from a friend. tires are normally around $150+ each. I was able to find good deals on everything so if you need contacts i have them still. I know a sectioning guy as well.
  17. been putting some time and money into my suspension recently. Suspension - sectioned strut tubes - sand blasted repainted strut tubes - Ground control Coil Overs - Black Magic coils - 10" 200,225 weight - Tokico Hp Shocks - Energy Suspension bushing kit - Stock Front Sway bar - front and rear strut bars - not sure what brand cleaned up, sectioned and primed assembled and looking pretty - didn't reallly care about the brakes since those wont be on t omuch longer I couldnt stand seeing my beast sitting up high like a freaking monster truck and needed some sense of accomplishment with my project so i just went ahead and slapped on my new suspension. before I am goining the ZG route but at that time did not have my big wide wheels and came accross some good deals on some THICK meaty spacers so for now i'm filling up my ZG with my 15x7 After + 2"/1.5" spacers NOW for the newer prettier stuff!! Tires - toyo R1R 235/40/17 and 215/45/17 Rims - Axis Banzai 17x9 and 17x8 Rims placed next to the car And last pic, me pre-Superman:mrgreen:
  18. those Konig B-Bomb rims are nice! they'd be perfect with a few more inches all around
  19. $80 shipped! orange one has those 2 little dents but it's an easy fix..very light surface rust. Pm me if you're interested. Thanks.
  20. you got it!! they are the imitation Hayashi wheels. i wish they had a negative offset also but I'm playing with some meaty spacers to help fill up every inch of the ZG's and more. Even thinking of going with the stretched tire look to really get the oldshool look even though everyone hates it and thinks it's un-safe. A stretch like this would be good - look bad ass though anyone know what size tires i would have to use to get a stretch like that on a 9 and 8 inch tire?
