    Not a bad looking hood.

    Custom door bars

lol that wheel looks so out of place.
  9. why is that? i don't see anything wrong with it. i wouldn't do that to a car either but i certainly wouldn't put down someone that has obviously spent a lot of money, time and effort. edit: @ Pope
  10. i wouldn't touch it. looks good where it is. if you had two maybe move them to the front but why waste energy on that...
  11. heey that'd be my car.
  12. lol @ Evil. you knob my shifter is a heavy sucker. i haven't weighed it but it's very heavy and works a treat. also looks pretty good. well, better than most shifters i've ever had anyway.
  13. Here is a pic of my radiator clearance. Filter clearance. Will be fine. So afaik as long as the hood has the same bulge starting at the same spot as the stock hood I will be fine. Now it's a question of which cowl hoods have the bulge that begin at the same spot. I also want a high quality one as I live in Australia and can not afford to be buying a poorly fitted one which I have to return or whatever. Georgia Flash 75V8 has the following one and I've sent him a pm asking him about it. Not sure where he got it from but it looks to be fine. The Reaction Research one looks fine as well but not sure about clearances there. I have not used the JTR mounting kit and my radiator is as low as it will go so I have to forget that idea and find a hood that has similar clearance at the front to the stock ones. cheers
  14. I'm looking at getting this hood. Ran into a little problem in regards to the radiator being too high with no room to lower it. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=101130 Should the above fall through I'd be looking at a cowl hood. Where would I be able to find the (currently) best quality 2" cowl hoods to suit a 240Z? cheers
  15. this is what i ended up with. bit pricy but i'm happy with them. price ended up too high as my control arms are shorter by 20mm so the shaft had to be shortened even more. bad quality mobile phone pics. i'll get some decent ones next time i see him.
  16. and a well deserved one at that. glad you didn't give up ay. i've had a bit of luck with mine and they've been fairly easy to come off and go on.
  17. Tim, you answered your own question...
  18. i spoke to my engine mechanic today and he says that with ~450hp at the engine and an auto trans the cv's should hold up to most punishment i give it. the porblem i have is the custom fuel tank gets in the way and having to fab a 4 link system will be a costly job. spoke to a few fabricators today and they don't want to touch it. they'd rather churn out the regular cars they fab because they know them and it's easy money for them i guess. so in the end it looks like i might not need to throw money at it.
  19. current setup keeps snapping u-joints and i'm afraid going to cv's is going to be a band aid solution and an expensive one at that. i've been quoted AU$1400 for a set and there are no guarantees they will last. i'd rather spend a bit more and have a strong rear so i'm searching for info.
  20. i was surprised to find that there is little information on this topic. maybe i'm not searching on the right terms? what are the problems that people come across when converting to a Ford 9 inch? is it difficult to install a 4 link? how expensive was it for you? would you do it again if you had the choice? if you don't have answers maybe you can point me in the right direction to some useful information. much appreciated.

thanks azero. not many people know about the simmons. good wheels. yeah it's a 5 speed supra box but i'm contemplating going auto. pretty harsh with the manual. keeps snapping u-joints and i'm getting a cv conversion within the next week or so but that won't make it fun to drive. i believe it needs an auto bad.

They are 18x10's. The tyres bend in so I can go slightly wider with these rims but space will start to become an issue at 11". It will fit but with the roads in my city and their potholes it's a gamble.
