  1. When looking at your thermostat housing from the front of the engine, you will see 2 sensors at the bottom. The 1 on the left is the Thermotime and is used by the ecu to determine if engine is cold or warm and the 1 on the right is your coolant temp sensor for your instrument panel. I would clean both while your there. You could also just have dirty injectors by the way. You say your running rich, but have you pulled any plugs? Are you seeing black exhaust? Are you just commenting on exhaust smell? Also just cleaning the connection doesn't mean the thermotime switch is good!
  2. Well check your thermotime switch like 76 said. Corrosion at the plug could do it easily enough. Also check your fuel hoses for cracks, if they are original then they are over due. Something else to look for but not pertaining to your rich condition is the condition of your AFM boots. Look carefully between the folds and most likely you will find cracks that let unmetered air into the engine. Clean ALL your wire connections and Grounds.
  3. Those feed water to your heater core. In your picture, it was looped and eliminated. Probably the valve was leaking.
  4. Pull the vacuum line off of your fuel pressure regulator and turn your key on and look for fuel coming out. If so, the diaphram has cracked with age and you need to replace the regulator. If that is your problem your oil is going to be thinned out by the fuel and need to be changed as well. Good luck and nice score!
  5. How about a side pic of that? I once thought of making split bumpers out of them your aproach is interesting.
  6. Hey Bernardd, long time bro! Check this out. http://www.datsport.com/Racer_Brown_Menu.html Excellent info on cams and the L motor.
  7. I too use Harbor tools at times but I try to stay away from their electrical tools. I Bought a biscuit joiner a while back to build some cabinets for the little woman and nearly killed my white lab with it. I plugged it in an squeezed the trigger just to check the motor out and the blade came flying out missed poor Dalton and stuck into the wall! It was like a badass ninja weapon on steroids! Took it back they gave me another I checked it at the store and aimed it at the ceiling same thing happened, it stuck in their ceiling tiles. I said I'll just take my money back please after that. They spot weld the blades on to the arbor instead of bolting.

Another Z-Dude here by the name of KJones runs a supercharger setup, might want to get some info from him. Nice guy by the way. ZFURY- Pinetree? no, but there are alot of "Pines" here! Pine Island, Pine Pl., Pine Apple, etc. If you lived here before, I hope you have a good memory because the land has been raped pretty good. Condo's everywhere, and what burns my butt the most is the a-holes that move in and try to change our local laws and ordinances to suit their needs! Z-YA As for wet or dry supercharging... remember this, A sticking injector could cause one helluva "hydro lock"*sp? condition. maybe the blow off would take care of it but your seals and the compression.. I dunno.
  9. Cleaning all your electrical connections including grounds. Your fuel tank as mentioned above is probably full of crud as is your fuel filters and I like to check the fuel pressure regulator because the rubber diaphram tends to crack and give it up. Do a search as these are just a few for you to scratch your head on.

According to my old "April 2001 price list for their 7th edition catalog" the price was $2299.00 before taxes and shipping. But this was many moon's ago! Surely the price has gone up some.

JCR "Jim Cook Racing" sells one if you have the coin. http://www.jimcookracing.com/catalog/page24.html
  12. Go to the turbo section and read the sticky written by Bumblezee.
  13. I wonder what the heat resistance is? Gets hotter in an engine compartment than a pickup bed.
  14. the l6 has a strong bottom end. I would not lighten the crank. I would balance the recipricating assembly and perhaps make a crank scraper if you want. From your description of your cylinder walls I would just rering the pistons you have. Again this is my thinking on how you described this motor.
  15. Don't forget your o2 sensor bung hole. Looking good dude.
  16. What psi tape are you running?
  17. he means the exhaust side of your turbo.
  18. Muratic acid will eat aluminum in a heartbeat. Try soaking in clr or tsp
  19. I have a set of block huggers with thermal wrap on them. The flanges are nice and thick. Can't tell who made them without unwrapping them. Anyway I've toyed with the idea of selling them a couple of times if your interested I'll take 75.00 for them plus shipping. I assume you meant gm small block right? Z_dude99@hotmail.com
