  1. Well I don't consider poker gambling. People wouldn't play poker professionally if it was considered gambling. I've paid for a little less than half of 3 years worth of college through poker so I doubt I'm gonna quit anytime soon. Just want some tips on how others on here have ridden through a storm of bad beats and how they've elevated there poker game.
  2. I just blew $550 at the $1/$2 NL hold 'em table last night, my single biggest one day lost thus far. Before this I've lost maybe $150 at the most in a single night. Although my bankroll can sustain a $550 lost somewhat (I had $2500 allotted for $1/$2 that is STRICTLY for poker) the amount just makes my stomach turn... I'm still up for the summer, however, as I've made about $1,375 grinding the 1/2 since mid June when I started up again after a 4 month poker hiatus. I keep telling myself this so as to soften the blow but still... I LOST $550! But besides all of that I want to know how some of you guys have handled a really bad night at the tables. I know I need to cool off and rethink my strategy. I lost the first $300 fairly to bad beats but my second buy in for $250 was lost due to pure tilt... sigh.
  3. Well I've done about a year and a half's worth of research and I was really looking forward to getting started on it this month. I sold a Z that I had earlier and I finally have enough money saved up to get to work on a cleaner Z that I found. It's just unfortunate that within a week of getting ready and what not my parents show up to the garage with a truckload of appliances. Now my Z is out in the driveway all covered up.. Well it seems my plans have to be delayed. Just sucks building up to something for a year and a half and getting to the point where you think everything is set and having this happen. I commission into the Navy in May and maybe then I can get a place with a garage.. sigh.
  4. My parents are restructuring their restaurant and have bought a whole lot of commercial sized appliances that now take up our entire garage. Now due to this horrible timing of events, my parent's garage space will no longer be available for me to use in parking and restoring my Z. So my question is has anybody had any experience with possibly renting out a car bay or garage while restoring their car? Any advice? I really don't want to wait 2-4 months until my parents finish the kitchen and get the appliances moved out to start work on my car.
  5. WOW. wanna come paint my car? What compressor are you using?
  6. easy solution. SELL, SELL, SELL. Keep the 260 though heh.
  7. omg I don't know anything about no gum on carpets but dang phil that color is niice!
  8. Wow those things look good! I may have to splurge and get a set although I doubt I'll use them all... Back to the original question, however..
  9. Toying with the idea of rewiring my entire car. Does anybody know of any cars that use high quality connectors that could be found in junkyards. Has anybody done this before or would it just make more sense to go to Waytek and buy some new connectors.
  10. Were the tach and speedometers working correctly? My tach was jumpy before it stopped working all together.
  11. Thanks but shipping that far might be a pain... I'll keep it in mind though.
  12. Any updates to this? Also would you mind sending me a copy of your diagram? It could help when in my planning for when I rewire my car.
  13. Hi, Looking for a dash with all the gauges for a 73 240z. Dash can have cracks and what not, it doesn't matter what it has I may want it. My major concern is that the wires are not butchered. Thanks
  14. Check out Rustyfriend's thread in the for sale parts section. He is located in Albany.
  15. Wow. I am so gonna experiment with this idea. Thank a lot Beau!
  16. My car is constantly needing to be jumped and this morning the jump failed all together. I could try getting a new alternator but there are 2 exposed wires that I know of. Would rather replace the entire electrical harness first. Anybody have one that they don't need please let me know.
  17. Looks good. You work fast! Done more to your Z in a month than I have in 4+ months heh.

  19. Hi, welcome to the forums. Its good to know there are more than a handful of Z enthusiasts in the hampton roads area. Although it does not meet your description I have a 78 280z that runs strong and has some rust although I just patched up all the doglegs and fenders with tabco body parts and what not. If you have any interest at all give me a call and you come take a look. Located in Norfolk.
  20. Hope this gives a little general help to anyone learning about the basics of engine design. Thank me later http://www.animatedengines.com/otto.shtml
  21. try to talk him down though ha. but if he won't budge $250 is still a steal!
  22. Until you have children on the way and realize you're dead broke and have no vehicle to lug around your family. Sure you can put them into a sports car but talk about being un-sporty having a baby seat strapped in the back you're man toy.
  23. none. Buy an economical car like a corolla or better yet a small SUV type of vehicle that gets good mpg. You'll need a big vehicle eventually. You already have a man toy, your Z, so be smart and get a vehicle that'll save you money in the long run. Making good money doesn't matter if you spend more than you need to. Not saying thats the case but that's what I would do in your position. Actually I will be in your position next year when I graduate college and Im looking into buying a small good mpg truck. Just my 2 cents...
