hi Cable Are the headers ready yet?

We have done a ton of mods to our engine. Cam, heads, rods, etc. I will get some numbers off the dyno in a few weeks. I think we have too much power and not enough traction. If you need parts, I can order whatever you need. You can alwasy try summit or jegs. they are both good.

I had to stop work on this until afgter the trade show. No one can see it. we are doing all cosmetics now.

We are almost dont with our conversion, still needs lots of work but the car is running now. We have so many extra parts tha came off the engine and the doner car. I think we just about replaced everything. All the accessories w/ brackets, oil pan, water pump, camshaft and valve springs, valve covers Camaro converted gas tank ( we used a fuel cell). Has anyone else done this to thier car? Ill post some pictures soon so you can see our progress

I agree with you. We are building this are and I am really enjoying it. Its the journey that is fun. Yes the car will be fun, but have a great time doing it.

I was looking at removing the press fitting and inseting a coil overs we have here in stock to do the testing. Its not the solution I am looking for but it does work. Its just something off the shelf with minor mods. Off the shelf with minor mods or spend a ton on other parts. Dont get me wrong there are lots of great produts out there, AZC TTT Beta and Ground Control. I like the TTT set up the best. Its simple and adaptable.

I think we can use a standard parts, such as Subaru coil over set up. only things that would need to be changed ar the top hats. The coilover set up is 22in vs stock 23. I know there are coil over conversions avalable that have weld in coilover by Ground Control and others. It seems it would saver lots of hassel in the future. Change the spindle and hub set up to fit 5x114.3 and we are done.

does anyone know how to contat them? I was looking for some carbon parts they offered. Hood and rear deck

I think we are over 27k already and we are doing all the work mostly. We have a blue Colbolt coolor from Alsa that looks amazing. The paint is 2k. We have about 2 weeks to get this on the road and to SEMA.

I have been looking doing some mods to the rear suspension. I was looking at some coilovers for a STI. I think we can make these work. We would have to use Techno tuning rear setup. Thier strut mount can be modified to accept the STI coilover. Doing this would solve tons of issues. Lots of companies use weld in coilovers. Not a bad set up, but not the best either.

You can spend as much as you want, but if you want to get the car running with no wild mods then you will save a ton. Car $600 rust free, no engine or trans. Doner car (Z28) 1999 with T-56. 2k. JCI parts $435 $600 $2000 $435 other needed parts lets say $500 total cost of running 240Z w/ LS1 and T-56 $3535 Dont get me wong, I dont think any one here did that. I dont even want to think about how much has gone in the car already. Our March pullie were 2k alone and not to mention all the other mods done to the engine, trans, rear end, suspension, etc.

I am having a hard time finding a set of front hubs from a Z31 turbo. Any ideas where to look for the part number? I have call the dealer and they were not very helpful at all. I was considering buying new hubs or aftermarket ones.

they look really nice. Here is a real question we will all have LS1 240z or variants. How much power do we really need? We are not done building the car up yet and its not drivable. Stock is 340bhp, some mods, cam, intake, shorty header, tunner are pretty basic. I think that will make easy 450bhp? It depends on the setup. 0-60 in 4sec or less? 1/4 mile in 11.5? Something like that. Now we have long headers to gain how much more hp?

I also found a honda unit from an Accord today. Here are some pictures with measurements. Looks like it will fit. It jsut take so much time. It has the control unit also.

what mods did you have to do. I think i located a unit.

It does not look there is enough room for a 3" collector. that size seems would almost the trans. another small issue the a full header is that I think it would be a very tight fit. Ill take some pictures with a measuring tape to see.

I was just under the car and did some measuring. I am using a LS1 and T56. all with the JCI mounting. if the collector is 3" it would have to be reduced to 2.5 since there is not enough room under the transmission mount.

how well does that work?

I found a 2008 Honda accord someone is parting out. Ill got take a look at the system tomorrow. I would love to have that AC and heater unit in the car. It has nice climate controls. I would re-use the stock air vents. Something like that would freeze or heat the car in seconds.

Cable your a rockstar! thanks for the heads up. Have you looked in the the Honda or other japanses set up that we can get from junk yards? I like the control systems in and climate control. The aftermarket systems dont work that well. Ill let you know what i can find and what will fit. Its really too bad since the heater/fan unit in our car looks like its in perfect shape. We have brand new condenser, compressor and all the lines. I ran the lines and saw there was nothing to attach it too. I think ill be digging in junk yards the next few days until I find something that will work.

Now that we have the A/C Condenser, it seems that we are missing a key part. Where do I find a evaporator. Its not under the dash. I just finished polishing the AIR CONDITIONER ACCUMULATOR DRIER. So what do we do now? My thought was to find a old Honda or Lexus and pull the small unit out of there and intergrate the control panal. I dont really care for the controls on the 240z heater panal. that part seems easy enough to fab.
