  1. What I'm trying to accomplish here is a well fast and save set up were I don't want to stress my motor out as much with the just a turbo set up. I always wanted to do a rb swap but I kinda got over it and decided to go more original with my car and keep what it got already. Like I said before the l28et I purchased months back, it's out of the car and still have yet to finish up buying parts for it, and that's when that idea popped in my head (turbo & carburator set up). It's kind of like doing a twin charge set up, instant power is what I want.

  4. Well that takes that idea off my shoulders. It does seem like it would be a real pain to make that happen and to make It work properly I guess if I really dedicate to it I can do it. The good thing is that my L28ET is not in my car, I have yet to replace a lot of old parts but it's a recent rebuild.
  5. I searched this forum and could not seem to find info on this search. Is it possible to have a turbo and at the same time have a triple carb set up. I also searched the web trying to find some info on this. Anyone got a suggestion or know about this?
  6. i wanted to add friday night after work i raced a fastback 240sx that had a Sr20 swap and my car was able to keep up fairly good with it made me think if i had the L28ET motor i would had smoke him worse than he smoke me he only got like one car in a half ahead not as fast i amagined the SR20's to be?
  7. well my car tops out real quick and i only have a spec stage 2 clutch, cold air intake, and flowmaster exhaust, i would think the T5 is better because it came out the last year of the S130's and plus i heard there real good tranny's thats why i wanna go with it, plus my (sinkrose) on first second and third might be going out it might just be that the clutch needs to be adjusted i dont know? my R180 diff u joint is going out makes a noise when i put it in first gear or it vibrates when i'm in a high gear at low speeds, i just found out cuz i got under my car and test it where the sound came from i thought it was the catalysic converter loose but nope. also a friend of mine here in town is going to check out some parts for me maybe his buddy has a R200 diff i can buy. i got the L28ET sitting at my mechanics shop but how can i tell the year the guy who i bought it from had no idea and is there like a serial # i can look up???

Thanks, I did find some things on craigslist like a T5 Transmission for 250 bucks, also I plan on keeping my L28E motor I saw that someone was selling a msa stage 3 cam the forum is really helping out a lot with this swap I will be on this forum a lot to keep checking and making sure I'm doing everything right. Thanks flatblack280 for that info I also wanted to add that I won't be working on this project by myself my mechanic is gonna help me out and so I want to be there to learn and know my engine from top to bottom.
  9. Get the motor man! L28et's are hard to come by especially here in oregon i got mine a week in a half ago for $150 bucks, got the whole complete rebuild engine with rebuild turbo.

  15. Love how you repainted the car i have the same color for my 81 280zx and now that i saw yours i know it will be real nice once i get mine repainted again great job. Even though i bought mine over 2 years ago the paint was still shiny and still is today but i have the driver side fender rusting not too bad but is getting there.
  16. OK I HAVE A 280ZX AND I RECENTLY BOUGHT A NEO RB25DET MOTOR. I NEED TO KNOW IF A TRANSMISSION OFF THE RB20DET WILL FIT JUST FINE INTO THE NEO RB25DET? I HAVEN'T DONE ANYTHING YET I'M STILL IN THE PROCESS OF BUYING EVERYTHING ELSE I NEED TO HAVE A SUCCESSFUL SWAP COMPLETE. ALSO WHAT I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IS IF THE Z31 200ZR OIL PAN (REAR SUMP) OFF THE RB20DET IN THE Z31 WILL FIT INTO THE NEO RB25DET? OR WILL I HAVE TO GET SOMETHING ELSE? I STILL NEED TO GET THE INTERCOOLER WITH PIPING, I WANT A APEXi N1 DUAL MUFFLER, LIMITED SLIP DIFFERENTIAL (R200) OR IF SOMEONE CAN ADDRESS ME TO WHERE I CAN GET ONE SENCE MY CAR IS ONLY A 1 WAY DIFFERENTIAL.

I have a neo rb25 i just sold my awd transmission a few days ago and was wondering since its going into a 280zx i would need a rb20 5 speed rwd transmission that i know so far would perfectly line up with the shift console but would a neo rb25 mate with the rb20 transmission? Also would a z31 200zr oil pan work on a neo rb25?
  18. http://www.torontojdm.com there fairly better prices than most companies out there thats where i found and bought my Neo Rb25 for the cheapest price and cheapest transmission too but buying the full swap is the best price. $2500 for Neo Rb25 & 5 speed RWD transmission for my 280zx.

Oooo nice ok that clears one of my questions, the neo rb25 i have is good but the transmission that came with it sucked so i sold it, in order for me to have a successful swap i need the rb20 transmission and it will line up perfectly where i need the shift knob, i could go easier and get a rb20 engine but i already have this one.

I have a question for the guys that have done this swap or similar into a 280zx ok i'm going to install a neo rb25det into my 81 280zx i don't need help putting the motor i need help on the oil pan i have to use for the neo rb25det will i be able to use the same kind of oil pan from the z31 200zr oil pan (rear sump) from japan? Another thing is will the rear end axle take all that power or will i have to modify just the limited slip to a 2 way, will my drive shaft fit in place? I've ordered the neo rb25 and a 5 speed rwd transmission to go with it, one thing i dont get is when i have the engine and transmission in will the transmittion fit where the old l28e transmission shift knob was.

Anyone have or know of someone wanting to sell these engines ka24de red top sr20det (s14) neo rb25det (er34) rb26dett (r33-r34 gt-r) or if you guys got some suggestions, please let me know your price if you got an engine for sell how many miles all those details. What can you guys recommend that i do to insure this engine fits just right and runs good, also what things i would need to look out for or even do to the car itself when i do the swap before driving it. Beautiful car indeed but i agree it's too much money for the V spec i wonder how much the V Spec II and The V Spec III would cost if they ever come out with those, all they really were was a lighter version of a GT-R with much better handling. I'd rather buy the R34 from Kaizo Unibodies with that money and put the parts in the RB from the Z2 motor from the Z-tune now that car is something else it had been named as the fastest production car in the world. Z-Tune the only car that i'm sure car out take the Bugatti Veyron if they ever gave it a chance but that car is like underground or something i hardly even hear about it even the damn ZZII the mid engine Tommy Kaira with the RB26.
  25. Oh i love that engine but i kind want to keep my car inline 6, yeah it'll be a lot lighter and all that but just the fact to change it all up kinda cool and it would be very unique to do.
