  1. well a local shop here in southern Oregon will rebuild my motor also port n polish well pretty much make it look like new again but will come out better than stock they did an estimate around $1,000-1,500 which Is not too bad my friends old school corolla got it's engine pro assembled there for about 1,300
  2. no I wish the coilover shocks on both are messed up so I sold the springs, these coilovers were for a S13 but could fit on a 280zx like they did on my donor car but it was missing a lot of parts for the right feel.
  3. These are my HKS Hypermax D rear coilovers that came off my 83 280zx donor car. http://i858.photobucket.com/albums/ab149/muerte_miquiztli/ae0f75ed.jpg http://i858.photobucket.com/albums/ab149/muerte_miquiztli/0fb3a2b5.jpg
  4. my 81 na is a 5 speed 2 seater same goes for the 83 turbo donor car.
  5. Me and a friend are gonna start taking everything out of my 83 turbo this next week Ima change everything out to mine
  6. So I finally just put a new rear bumper off my 83 280zx donor car onto my 81 280zx and I just did a bit of cheap effort to modify the two pieces that go with the bumper since it's a 3 piece I used zip ties lol but that's only temporary until I finish my car, so here they are a few pics of what it looks like before and after before http://i858.photobucket.com/albums/ab149/muerte_miquiztli/09ad9ec8.jpg http://i858.photobucket.com/albums/ab149/muerte_miquiztli/2b2a7580.jpg after http://i858.photobucket.com/albums/ab149/muerte_miquiztli/ac771221.jpg http://i858.photobucket.com/albums/ab149/muerte_miquiztli/afe30c2a.jpg when I took my bumper off it was the same fitment to the 83 but on the rear inner fender it had pre-drilled rounded holes from factory and on the 83 to fit the extra two pieces that go on each side theres two holes also in the same place but there squared holes so I'll have to find some way to make em look stock like they do now except without the zip ties lol please don't judge my crappy effort only if you feel like you need to.
  7. I happen to have a T-5 from my 83 280zx turbo donor that i'm working in getting the motor, tranny & rear end out soon maybe this week, I'm gonna get that steeda tri-ax short shifter and try it out see how it works I'm know if it fits it will be the best short shifter out there for the 280zx with the T-5 tranny.
  8. oh ok my bad lol, so which are better to keep if I can when I do the R200 swap cuz my car has about 160,000 plus miles and the donor 83 turbo has about 70,000 plus miles.
  9. Damn it's like $4,800 bucks not even including shipping but If you want something that unique go for it, there is a 280zx in the U.S that has that body kit.
  10. That's what I said but I was just trying to make sure I guess I'll find out when I do the full swap.
  11. I was just trying to get things straight before I do the full swap I guess I'll really find out I'm starting taking out the motor and transmission Sunday.
  12. I dont know this 100% but I had a question about the rear differential flange, has anyone done the swap before, I'm currently doing a full motor L28ET, T-5 transmission, also rear end swap completely out Of my 83 turbo donor car to my 81 non turbo. If I ain't wrong my 81 non turbo has CV joints with the R180 diff & the 83 turbo has U joints with the R200 diff. I just need some help on what I have to change out to do my complete swap to make my car a full on turbo swap like if it came like that from factory.
  13. That's true it is really low price 2500-3000 would sound more normal pricing but like ZXR KiD said it does sound too low and yeah I would make sure it comes with everything you need I still have to see someone put the VQ35 into a 280zx be bad ass though
  14. My brother bought a short throw shifter for his 97 cobra it's called a steeda tri-ax shifter which pretty much helps you shift faster and they happen to make it for the t-5/T45 transmission http://i858.photobucket.com/albums/ab149/muerte_miquiztli/17ecbe4c.jpg Steeda re-invented the Short Throw Shifter! This is the smoothest, most comfortable, quickest shifting, shortest throw shifter on the market. "Offset-Preload" coil springs find third gear for you - so you won't miss! 15. I think that's a good swap knowing that GM's vortec V6 motors are real good it's pretty much the corvette motor but missing the 2 extra cylinders much easier swap is to aquire the 4.3 vortec V6 off the syclone/typhoon engine already turbocharged 280hp is a real good start, yeah there hard to get cheap but if you can find just the motor alone is well worth it.
  16. I never heard if it either until the other day I saw it for sale what would you recommend for a good afforable and not to way expensive suspension upgrade?
  17. Hey guys I saw this suspension for sale for $900 bucks 79-83 280zx it's a D2 Racing Coilover Includes Front and Rear Camber Plates 36 Way Adjustable Shock & Height Adjustable think it's worth it??? The RS coilover system is a 36 way dampner and rebound adjustable monotube full coilover system. The setup has seperate height and preload adjustments allowing for optimal adjustment and allowing full strut travel at all times along with pillowball upper mounts or top mounts*. Mounts are constructed of 6061 powder coated aluminum. Threads are teflon coated to prevent rust. Rebuildable and serviceable in the US.
  18. Although I heard a 4 barrel carburator is not all that great I did test drive a 240z with the 4 barrel carburator not sure what kind it had but it tab pretty strong but not what I expected.
  19. Hmmm that interesting because my 83 turbo has hks rear suspension and I think those are from a S13 but does not have the plates that hold em in place for the solid feel all it did was bounce up and down
  20. Do you guys know anywhere the still sell the tokico aluminas I can't find the in the net for sale only for the early z cars. If not I'll just get the hp's
  21. My turbo z has the gasket blown so I'll see how It goes when I put the new one in.
  22. the last owner of the 83 280zx turbo i bought in december told me it would be a good idea to do the stud kit too, yeah he said that if i dont do it i will keep blowing those gaskets even if i get a high end gasket it wont matter, but yeah your right sence its not that expensive i will buy it. i'm thinking of using my rebuild L28ET instead of the one that was in the running car cuz even though the car has 70k+ miles it dont mean its in good shape it does smoke a little but but if you saw the rebuild from inside that thing looks like new.
  23. I'd figured as much, yeah I hate paying other people but when you don't have the time and your working like me everyday I can't do things on my own, I just wanted to know cuz Ima be doing the swap in my ZX soon and yeah a guy from a Nissan dealer that has his own shop is doing the swap for $500 bucks which is not bad at all he's got a S30 but has done a lot of work on all kinds of Z's. About how long you think the gasket would last if I don't do the stud kit?
