  3. coming back out to replace the trans and dyno next weekend
  4. so I posted my old vortec cylinder heads and intake on Craigslist for sale or trade. I'll be trading for a little bit of engine work, the motor is gonna go on a dyno for the cam break-in, tuning, and of course it'll be dynoed too. so I'll have some solid numbers on what this thing puts out. sounds like an even trade to me!
  5. you can still see the crosshatching in the cylinder walls.
  6. bought a new aluminum fuel cell(17 gallon capacity) ordered up an edelbrock performer RPM Air Gap intake, cam from comp cams, ARP head studs, GM performance parts valve covers. picked up a set of sportsman II cylinder heads, and ordered a new set of gaskets. these next few weeks are going to be fun.
  7. I already ran my throttle cable. like 3 months ago. lol, but thanks.
  8. workin on a little bit of the exhaust lately...
  9. the difference was night and day, but the problem with the edelbrock was that the secondaries weren't opening at all. something with the linkage was broken. so at higher rpm's the motor just bogged way down from running so rich. I love the Holley carb. not only does it look good but it runs like a champ.
  10. also as far as ground clearance goes, this exhaust is temporary. I'll be building a full length exhaust in the spring. we built what we could with the pipe we had on hand, we came up a little short. so I had to put mufflers on it to quiet it down.
  11. also had to replace the edelbrock carb I had on the motor, bought a new Holley...
  12. well my 700r4 lost third and fourth gear, looks like it's time to find that t56
  13. the last 16" of the exhaust is only temporary, to keep it quiet for now. I'll finish it all the way out the back in the spring.

  15. the throttle linkage ended up not working, so I had to use a cable... at around midnight we finally got most everything sorted out, the car fired right up and it now moves under its own power
  16. this shifter is too tall, but it'll be coming out when I install a 6 spd anyway...
