  1. After not really spending much time on it over the past while I finally got to spend 1/2 a day working on it again. I got the front suspension put back together and bolted in. Those are Vogtland Springs and Stagg shocks. While I was there I replaced the brake lines for braided steel. I am hoping today I will get to put the rear suspension back in.
  2. They are a little spendy but the bumpers from Futofab are freaking sweet!!!
  3. Mocked up one of the rear struts w/ the Vogtland springs. (yes i know that the bump stop doesn't go there ) Waiting for another spindle pin to put the other side together
  4. I had ordered some vogtland springs and a set of struts a few weeks ago. I had cleaned and coated the strut mounts/hubs and control arms as well as pushed new bearings in the rear hubs. unfortunately the company I ordered from sent me 240 rear struts instead of 280 struts.... the wait continues
  5. Did they ship you the correct rear Struts? I'm going through the same thing. I got them about 2 weeks ago and didn't have time until yesterday to mess with it but saw that the rears didn't fit. Looking at this thread it looks like they sent me the 240 rear Struts
  6. decided to go ahead and get both rear fender patch panels. The patch that was already there was just shoddy craftsmanship. I am waiting on a spindle from MSA because while the one of them came out with relative ease the other one will need to be cut. While the struts were out I noticed that one of them was leaking oil so I got a set of Stagg struts with Vogtland springs. I can't comment on ride quality but I can say that the build quality of the struts look great. While I had the rear suspension out I sandblasted the other rear control arm and both the hubs and painted them. I forgot to get pics of the shock combo but will snap a few later on. The rear wheel bearings appeared to be fine but I had already ordered a set and will be replacing anyway since
  7. more pictures... removed about 7-8lbs of bondo that's what that pile is
  8. well since my struts were shot and it was going to be a little while before i get them in the mail, I figured I'd see how bad the prior "repairs" were and ended up cutting out most of it. I'll be ordering a patch panel for the passenger rear qtr for sure. I think my buddy can fix the prior "repair" without having to weld in a new replacement panel. Also cut off the duckfin and welded in some metal to patch up the few holes that were back there.
  9. Started tearing into the rear today. I had sand blasted and painted an extra rear control arm I had a few months ago so that's why it's dusty looking. I still need to disasemble the other one and if I have time I will do the same. I also had an extra transmount that I also sand blasted and painted. What was a nice surprise was that there are a couple of new mounts already there so that a few $$$ saved. Plan is to use up the rest of the poly bushings kit that I have, put in the new wheel bearings, and put the S13 rear disc brakes on. I also have ordered a set of strut bellows since the set on the car are pretty much toast.
  10. Got some fender flares and popped the fronts on... still messing around with fitment on the rears
  11. Decided I would try out this heat reflective tape on the heat shield and on the back of the air box. Still have to do a little more wiring since I am swapping out the fuse links with a maxi-fuse box... i'll report back on how the reflective tape works out.
  12. Got a few more things in the mail today! I got a much needed carb heat shield, reflective insulation tape, and some fender welting for the ZG flares. Also removed a bunch of the efi wiring that is no longer needed since the carb swap.
  13. Well I figured out it was the wiring AFTER I bought a different pump... oh well the holley pump is pretty sweet though
  14. Got the FPR plumbed in and carbs were still gushing fuel. Decided to take the carbs apart and found that there were a few things wrong. took the carbs partially apart, cleaned and tweaked a few things, and got them back on. No more leaking. I also got a gauge hooked up to my FPR and found that I am only putting out just under 3psi of fuel pressure. I am thinking that since I have the low pressure pump wired into the stock location, that it's not getting the full 12v. All I can figure is that it might have something to do with my unplugging all the efi harness stuff and it just being zip tied in a bundle in the engine bay.
  15. Well spent yesterday and today doing the EFI to SU carb conversion. Unfortunately the K&N electric fuel pump puts out a good bit more fuel pressure than the little SUs can handle. Got a Holly FPR on the way.
  16. Ugh efi problems. I love how my friends SU powered 280's move so SU conversion here I come
  17. I didn't really take any pictures this go round. I pulled the front hubs and replaced the studs for some longer ones. I got some 45mm studs and pressed them in. The grease was still pretty clean so I think the front bearings were replaced within the past few years so I just regreased them and put them back in. I also replaced the tempature sender unit so temp gauge works now, stock brake lines with some stainless steal lines from Apex and mounted my 240Z bumper. I need to get some spacers for the side bolts so i'll order some from MSA when I put in an order their Victory wing
  18. Pictures of the exhaust and here is a link to video so you can hear it https://goo.gl/photos/u6GyWMetCxQqN4gu5
  19. It was a pain but built a 3in mandrel bend exhaust for it. Stock down pipe but from there I have a 2ft glass pack then to more 3in pipe the to a muffler with dual 2.5in exits. I'll post a few pictures tomorrow. I also swapped the hatches from the parts car. The green hatch is damn near mint so no more leaks!!! I almost hate to put holes in it to put a wing on it
  20. Well it's been a while since I have had anything post worthy. Last weekend I got the exhaust manifold back on and was going to build the new exhaust but my friends welder was out of gas. I spent a little time yesterday tinkering but it was gross out so I didn't accomplish much. I did however sand blast and paint some S13 Ebrake caliper brackets for the rear disc brake mod I will be doing. I am going to have the prettiest rear Ebrake brackets for sure
  21. Got the fenders lined up and bolted in. Also got the front airdam mounted. All I have to do is figure out some brackets and I can get the 240Z bumper mounted and the front end is basically finished. As soon as I get the exhaust manifold from the machine shop I'll bolt it back and build the exhaust and I'll be able to drive it!!!
  22. cool. do you think the tack welds are strong enough to handle the force of the ebrake cable?
  23. thanks for the link. i need to find a parts catalog so i can get part #'s. Hopefully I can still get that little bracket and bolt
