  1. Hi Gollum I noticed you were from Vacaville, I used to live there. Grew up in Fairfield, FFHS graduate.
  2. Car will be on display at Autorama in Sacramento this weekend.
  3. I think it had to of helped but there are so many other factors to consider. Traction and i had a 14mph side wind on one of my runs . We will go at it again in 2012, no major changes for 2012,we have plenty of power its just keeping it straight. maybe some more weight, not sure yet.
  4. In our class we are allowed to chop the top but we chose not too
  5. Forum member Louis from Tennesse stopped by and said hello so we let him get in the car. I forgot his Forum name. LUIGI ????
  6. Back from the salt with mixed feelings, I bumped the record to 212mph, ran 215mph average between the 4 and 5 mile with an exit speed of 219mph. Put one of our crew guys in to drive and he ran a 224mph with a 226mph exit speed. on the return run i think he ran a 215mph and the record averaged out to a 220mph and some change. Then i got back in the car and was at 203mph at the 3 mile and then spun the car. Have a few videos and pic to post later. So all in all i guess it was a good trip (2 records) but fell short of my 225mph goal. Maybe next year.
  7. If anyone is headed out to the Salt stop by and say hi
  8. Howlermonkey we have a 5 speed (Richmond-Nash) There are events on runways but we prefer the salt. Alot of history out on the salt, every time I drive out onto the salt i think of the great racers that have raced out there. Arfons,Breedlove,Summers,Burke and many more.
  9. Running the car is not a problem, I have very cool neighbors, one of them, Larry the fireman is on our crew.
  10. Were happy with the way the nose is coming along, should be better than the wall i was pushing.
  11. We finaly started on the new nose for the car. I hope this will do the trick (225mph+) a friend who works with fiberglass has started shaping the nose. (roughed in)
  12. got this last week, hopefully we will reach our goal of 225mph+ this year. weve got a few aero things we need to get done. (nose)
  13. another, in line at sunrise means you are running for a record. (no record this year)
  14. Another angle of the spin (slide) watch the throttle in the upper right of the video and listen to the engine. You can tell how slippery the new course was. Not complaining I have no excuses for what happened other guys made it down the track, SCTA - BNI does an EXCELLENT job running the event just pointing out what happened with our car.
  15. Sorry about the F-bomb in the video, I was so close to getting a red hat. if i would have gone 227mph on that run i would have got it, I was just frustrated because i knew my week was over after the spin. As for the Emergency crew there are people placed all along the course for emergencies. I guess i just happened to spin where these guys were at.
  16. note the car moving around on the course and me feathering the throttle. it was very slippery
  17. ok, let me see if this works. run starts about 2:30 into the video. now i need to learn to edit.
  18. Just Back from the salt. well it wasnt a grerat year we did learn some things and came home safe. Tuesday made a 211mph pass which qualified us to go to impound because the record in our class is 207. We decided not to go to impound because my goal is 225mph to get in the club. We made some adjustments and came back in the afternoon with a 223mph run with a 10mph headwind. I was happy with that so we took it to impound. on the record return run Wed morning they switched courses and i was the 3rd car out. soon as i took off i could tell it was going to be a slippery run. I was going 200mph at the 3 mile marker and shortley after that i spun the car. I guess i was probably in the 215 range. So that ended our trip for the year. I have some in car camera videos of the 223mph run and the spin. I will try to figure out how to get videos posted and get them on here in the next couple of days. 223mph average is the fastest average for a mile we have on the car so far. Im happy with that but dissapointed i didnt get a 225mph average to meet the Min for me to get in the club. THANKS for your support Gary Cole DCwaterjet Z
