  2. I left on Thursday AM and i know at that point Jim had made a 220mph pass. not sure what he had done after that. need to check the SCTA web site. Gary Cole DCWATERJET Z
  3. also met Jim Thomas driver of #236 orange Z that runs El mirage. a very nice man and i know he accomplished what he set out to do at Bonneville. I have some photos of the 2 cars together nose to nose on the salt. still waiting for photos from my friend. Gary Cole DCWATERJET Z
  4. Back from the salt, We bumped our 202mph record up to 207mph. I was hoping for more but it didnt happen this year. I met one person from the forum out on the salt but i dont recall there name. we learned alot and we will be back next year. broke a crankshaft in half. I will post some photos when my friend sends them to me. Gary Cole DCWATERJET Z
  5. racing begins on August 8 and continues untill the following weekend (Speedweek) SEE YOU ON THE SALT Gary Cole DCWATERJET Z
  6. Three weeks untill we leave for Bonneville, car is ready, goal for this year is 225mph+ If anyone from this forum is going to the salt stop by and say Hi. Gary Cole DCWATERJET Z
  7. 300zx im guessing has a blown V8 in it, that is the injector sticking through the windshield, blocked off to keep things out of the engine while not running.
  8. Found some more old Bonneville photos (Robert Steele) no info
  9. If there are any Hybrid Z stickers I would be more than happy to put some on the car for 09 I have read quite a few threads on this forum and enjoyed all of them. Gary Cole DCWATERJET Z
  10. Found another Z from Bonneville, I dont know anything about this one or the previous, Maybe Tony knows something about them?
  11. Hi Tony only one RED HAT so far, my Dad he ran 221mph to beat a 201mph record. I set a record at 202mph but they have a 225mph min for the class to get into the 200mph club. A RED HAT is also my goal. Hopefully this year.
  12. I know nothing about this Z maybe someone on here knows of it. Im guessing this is a G-nose ?
  13. Nice looking car Tony I have not seen it before. I will see if I can retrieve a photo of the car I was talking about.
  14. thehelix112 our wheel wells are not vented, I have driven the car the last two years and the frontend dosent seem to be a problem. above 210mph (gps reading in car) the backend moves around. we have large wheel tubs in the back as the car was going to be a drag car when we first made it. This is one of the things we are changing for 09, I am petty confident we are getting a lot of lift from the wheel tubs. Tony or someone can you post a pic of #220 I dont have a 2000 rulebook? I saw a pic of a blue Z no lettering and what i think is a G-nose. I could not read the number on the car. is this #220? oh yeah, Our Z has been stretched 15" has a full tube frame.the nose of the car has NO engineering involved in the design, it is just something we made to try and keep the car looking as close to a Z as we could and keep air out of the engine bay, we COULD NOT run in a production class.
  15. Hi Tony can you explain to me the protest on #220 that you mentioned?
  16. just looked in the Bonneville rule book, not 100% sure but i believe this is the car. Donnie Stringfellow - 08/94 - 262.081 mph C/BFCC
  17. As far as Aerodynamics on the DCWATERJET Z, we are not aero engineers nor do we pretend to be, there are far smarter people then us on this subject. Probably on this forum. We tried to keep the air from getting in the engine compartment and from going underneath the car. This is an educated guess from running THIS car. We learn every time we run the car. In the future we would still like to put a full bellypan on the car as we think this would help our aero situation also.We are at speeds where not many Z's have been. One guy from Arizona ran a Z with a choped top and stretched longer than ours with a twin turbo chevy ran in the 260mph range about ten years ago. I have not seen the car since. It was green and to me it was hard to tell it was a Z.
  18. DCWATERJET Z ECOTEC built by Kroyer racing engines in Las Vegas. They did developement work for GM on this motor.
