  1. What would cause a 350 to lose most of it's torque? bad rings, head gaskets, carb? All I can say is that this 350 is mated with a t56 and 3:9 rear end -- I should be able to waste the rubber in first if I floor it with the gearing, but I don't even get so much as a chirp. Even if I pop the clutch at 4000 rpm I'll get a half-second chirp. If this was a completely stock 350 under the hood I'd be able to lay down some mad marks

What are some possible causes of this? I'm going to do a compression test soon, when I have some time, and whatever else you suggest. It really stinks when you have a car that's 50 times slower than it sounds. Thanks in advance for any help.

  2. You should've seen what happened to a mitsubishi dealer when they declined a winning bid sale to a customer on ebay. Word spread ALL over the internet, and there were THOUSANDS of people calling, and 10s of thousands reading about it. In 2 days the thread had 106 pages. Mitsubishi USA received tons of complaints

If any of you have been following this, apparently the dealer recently said they would give it to the guy for the winning bid's price, and now the homo doesnt even want it after complaining to everyone about it. He said, "With input from my family and friends, I reversed my decision to buy the ebay Evo. I simply decided I might be happier with this completely behind me. "

  3. I have a Sony Handycam (I think that's what it's called -- I'll get the model # when I get off of work) that is a digital video recorder and has the ability to take stills -- I'm very pleased with it. The only thing I don't like about it is that the nightshot feature only works best if you're about 15 feet away -- other than that, if I'm in my garage and it's completely pitch black and I look under the hood of my 77 280 with the nightshot on, I can see EVERY wire and hose under there -- works very accurate. As far as quality -- I'm impressed with the video quality, but the stills could be better. Here's one shot from it:

    jarod_s_350_2.jpg.

That may not be the best example in the world, but it gives you a good idea of what the still shots would look like. Also, the camera comes with a USB port, so there's no problem transporting information from the camera to the cpu (as long as the bus is up to date). The cost of this camera was $415 including tax. I'm the same way as you -- I wasn't looking for a professional camera at the time, just something for a decent price and good quality. I'm not sure how well Sony cameras hold up, but I think it's a pretty decent one.

  4. My source came from a quote in the other forum:

-Persa’s planed Stops on this “cross country” run (in no order):

Tuscon AZ (1/2 week planned stay)

    Portland Oregon (maybe),

    Las Vegas,

    LA,

    San Francisco,

    San Clemete CA

I know on the website Ohio is where she was last seen, but they think that the "kidnapper" may have a place around Las Vegas.

  5. I agree with the diffuser. That'd be great -- I'm heavily into aerodynamics (chose the perfect car, huh?) and I'm trying to get this baby to feel smooth and in control at 140+. I've already lowered the crap out of it, upgraded suspension and bushings, bought the body kit, currently shaving markers, emblems, and rear wiper (yes, it's a zx, but it's got a v8, so it keeps me happy  ), and a crap load of other junk -- this would be a great addition -- along with a fiberglass dash. I still want a cf dash in the shape of the 280z dash, but made to fit the 280zx dash. That would almost perfect my project.

  6. Where's the engineering market at right now? I'm thinking of getting my B.S. in computer hardware engineering, but I've been reading that the demand my go down. Before this, I was looking at aerospace engineering, but computer hardware seemed to interest me more. Is anybody here a computer hardware engineer? If not, anything close, like a computer software engineer, or something similar? Thanks for the help.

  7. I would love to see a new AvP game with today's gaming tech. Hmm, PC online multiplayer

I'm not sure if you knew this already, but they already do have a pretty damn good version of AvP for the PC right now, which is an online multiplayer. It kicks ASS!

  8. I haven't seen this on hybridz, so I'm just trying to make sure everyone gets a good look at it and spreads it on. This pussy troller tries to start some sh!t and gets more than he expected!!! WAAYYY MOORRREEE!!! It's friggen hilarious if you havn't read it yet -- he is known as a gay dumbass internationally now -- I believe through every continent except Antarctica, but they're trying to fix that. Anyways, click here to laugh your ass off.

  9. Oh man, don't get me started! I went to the movies last night and when I saw the AVP advertisment I nearly sh!t myself!! It's a good thing they hung it up next to the restrooms. I can't wait for it to come out -- I've played avp on the computer and loved every bit of it -- hell, even when the Super Nintendo was popular I used it for avp. I did like Resident Evil -- it scared the hell out of my girlfriend after watching it in the theaters. Hehe, because she wasn't 17 then, I had to buy two tickets two a Disney movie, and then we snuck into Resident Evil -- after the movie I joked that we should've stayed in with the Disney showing. Anyways, yeah, I will be one of the first customers for that movie -- I'm a diehard fan of the Predator! He RULES!

  10. So you're saying that even with your poly-lock nuts, you still have problems with them coming loose, or is that before you put the poly-locks on there? I too am running a solid cam -- would this problem be solved if I switch over to a hydraulic? Thank you all for the help -- I live in a small town so the only auto store within 35 miles from here is NAPA, and when I told him that I was looking for locking nuts for the rocker studs, he told me that all rocker nuts are lock nuts -- I don't think he understood what I was trying to tell him. This weekend I'll be making a road trip so I'm sure I could find a few there.

    Thanks again

  11. I have a few rocker nuts that keep coming loose (intakes 5,6,and 7) so I'm wondering if it would hurt my engine to put lock nuts on the rocker studs to keep this from happening. I just have a gut feeling that this wouldn't be good for the engine. By the way, it's a 350 with holley systemax II heads.

While I'm posting, I might as well make it worth while --

I'm replacing my radiator -- I'm probably going to get the Griffin aluminum radiator, but I was also looking at the GM aluminum radiator -- is there major difference between cooling performance between these two?

Also, I'm thinking about switching to roller lifters, cam, and rockers, so what would be the best combination (ratios, sizes, etc.) of rollers to buy with a stock 350 block, holley systemax II heads, victor jr intake, edelbrock 650 (which will probably be going to fuel injection in the near future), and MSD ignition. Thanks for any help in advance.

  12. I used Aircraft Stripper on my Z -- it's easily attainable from Wal-Mart. This stuff worked wonders on my Z, saved me plenty of time and pain, and wasn't as expensive as I was expecting it to be. If it were me, I would sand the whole car down to bare metal -- just to make sure you do it right, but if you only have one coat paint on the body, then you don't have to worry about it. After I stripped the paint I could use fine grit to easily remove the rest of the paint. Good luck on the project.

  13. Ooooh, I know. Make a carbon fiber dash for the zx that looks like the s30 dash but fits the s130 -- it'd have the looks AND less weight. It may requre more skill though, but I'd definately love to buy one of those from you if you did make one. The s30 dash is beautiful, but the s130 dash is the opposite. Boy I feel like a kid in the candy store. :o Thanks.
