  1. wow, im SO jealous. i was going to start budgeting for an rb setup until i discovered the potential in the l28et. good luck with it all!
  2. idk if we'd have to get that in depth with it. i can take you guys word for it... lol. but it'd be nice to find out whose car that is.
  3. i know, i know, im an idiot. but besides that, the blinkers look larger in that pic. idk, guess im just retarded...
  4. nawh, the bumper ive posted originally is way B.A., i dont remember seeing it until recently. but that bumper with the to big blinkers molded into it looks great... the only thing is that i see way too many z's with that style bumper (w/o the corners in the bumper)
  5. i have a 280 (thanks shaggyz:burnout:). those corner lights just look bigger than ussual to me...
  6. Dang, i really wanted to clean up the bay w/ a fuel rail while the intake was off, but you guys are right of course. thanks for the info guys. what stock ecu is best for the l28et?
  7. i'd really like to know what air dam and or blinker combo this is. is it msa modified?
  8. not thread jacking, but question... i currently am running a stock l28e, which eventually will turn into a l28et. i am in the process of doing a air/fuel upgrade for the heck of it. k&n air filter, 60mm tb, port intake, 440 injectors... (no reason to run those injectors NOW but why not if im pulling the intake off anyway...) i obviously have to run some type of fuel control, would a 280zxt computer do it? would i need that, plus a piggy back system? would the injectors be over baring for a n/a L?
  9. what kind of exhaust manifold is that?? its dam sweet...
  10. im pretty sure any sx tb would do work. as shown in the site posted: http://www.graytechsoftware.com/garage/tbs_linkage.asp the only variation is top or bottom cooled. if i remember correctly, the ka24e is top cooled, and the ka24de is bottom cooled?
  11. yea, i paid close to $600 for it 6-7yrs ago and never mounted it up. now that i've decided on my engine, i'm going to pipe mine up pretty soon. i had a catback on my z32, omg, i LOVED it. thanks.
  12. i know you'd need some deep pockets for that swap... and lots of fab skills. the rb25 is more practical, still an interesting swap. but less hassel of the dual boosters. imo
  13. i forgot to add this link. but i LOVE this build. id like to know what he's pushing, then i might start considering a l28et para me.
  14. i'd like to be directed in the direction of the 500hp l28 builders. originally i was thinking to do an rb25det, but realistically, i didnt plan on swaping 15grand into the engine bay for another 2 or 3 years. but my z gets me so wet when by driving the stock l28, that i think i want to research the l28et for more power NOW. Im starting to realize that the 76 engine has great potential. not to mention, i bought the car from a mechanic who used to build/race these beasts out on leguna seca years ago, and he looked at me like i was insane when i said i want to junk the original l28 engine. he too, was all for the l28et... question... can you simply bolt a turbo to the l28 to make it a l28et, or is the block different? (i.e. compression ratios)
  15. i hate to s2k's because its like the "state car" of georgia, but that engine build is pretty sick. -jealous
  16. i'd say it has something to do with the wiring under the steering column. i've been working at almost the same issue for the last couple days, and it all goes back to the wiring underneath that column. in my 76, all of my wires were shown as stock, but it looked as if someone was messing with them because connections were becoming loose, warn, and overall sloppy... i now have all my lights operating properly, but i still have to tackle the turn signal assembly.
  17. what affect does removing the coolant hose from the tb have on performance?
  18. i am assuming that is a UNIVERSAL hks ti/carbon? i still have that exhaust at my moms house in ny, i bought it for a eg project that wound up in the crusher. i was thinking about piping up the hks to my stock engine soon so i can (1) rid of my exhaust leaks. and (2) start styling MY z...
  19. yea, i do have little experience with body repair... i have done a few jobs on a couple of my previous cars, but nothing having to deal with a rust bucket, so this is very new to me. luckily i do have someone who has professional experience with older model/rusting vehicles, and i am just going to help/learn... but i will start reading up on it. thanks.
  20. was the body ever restored? my biggest fear would be to get into a project thinking that all the panels are original and then get stuck with rectifying someone elses crazy rust repair job...
  21. i worked on the tail lights for 4hrs yesterday... pulled the combo switch apart, replaced it with toggles... chased the wiring diagram till i was cross eyed... checked all bulbs... only my right side rear corner light was corroded, i swapped that bulb with a tail bulb... NOTHING, NOTHING, AND NOTHING........ i left the tail/corner light switch on before i gave up. woke up the next morning and the lights were on... wtf... it has to be just the bulb connections... all wires are good. under the column, the two wires for tails/corners were fried (idk why or how) fuses have always been good... i cleaned up the fried wires. today, all lights are working, but im going to clean out the corrosion and get a couple new bulbs....
