  1. thanks man, i appreciate your words of experience. good to hear stuff from someone on a "been there done that" scale. yea i got the r200 and a 260 still tho, suspension is maximum nessecary, but i understand the 260 came with heavier suspension parts. BUT i upgrades will be nessesary. but let me edit. my engine swap budget is 5k not the rest of the goodies. ie brakes, suspension, interior, tires.

  6. For 2 years straight, 240sx's have been whizzing through my head. back in February, i realized that there were other Nissan 2 door, rwd, inline engined cars out there....a MANS car.. The Datsun Z:icon2: ive caught that Z bug ever since. and now i bring you my new project. 1974 Datsun 260Z white.. was silver the pro's: 700 dollars. no rust. all parts there besides starter...and battery 280z SU types original wheels! hood opens, hatch shocks hold pressure. 240Z rally lip. suspension is solid frame great. pinch welds are not mashed in 4 speed its a Z for gods sake:mrgreen: the cons: not ready to start.. no seats... parts are there but not attached.. people ask me.... why did i buy a car that doesnt run...i tell them its a Z. thats why. what i plan to do... get her running, STOCK. to drive A to B. then ka-t or l28et. my turboed buget is going to be 3-4 grand...later down the road of cource. going to find seats like LAST WEEK! she is preety too. Pictures tommarrow, on account its on its way towards base. ill keep you guys updated. thanks for reading, ill get pics ASAP!
  7. "The 1974 models also got the new U.S.-government-mandated seat belt/ignition interlock, a system that prevented the driver from starting the car unless the safety belts of occupied seats were fastened." -http://auto.howstuffworks.com/nissan-z-history3.htm- Has any one encountered this Magnificent Mandated technology that the government tried to poise on us back then? also, how would i be able to bypass this? thanks -zach and im looking at a 74 260Z -reason for my question
  8. im glad some one added a ka-t swap idea in this oldy thread. i got to agree with the bloke above me, he is most likely doing a l28et swap. ka-t.org has some mean ka's. making 300 on stock guts.... ahh the possibilities of boosting!!
  9. haha. that is impressive. im still goin crazy over either 20 or 25!!! only got 2 weeks to make the biggest decision this year!
  10. niiice, i have never seen a bov mounted directly to an inter cooler. that rb looks nasty sittin in ur s30 man. cannot wait to start mine!!!
  11. beautylicious man! i sould be staring my RB25 260z project at the end of this month. just wanted some input on those mounts... with that in mind, im not exactly sure why i couldn't just weld my own... i am aware of being able to use the stock skyline mounts...far as rb20's, but i hear the engine sits uncomfortably forward, this being the case i would need to make a new shifter slot in my center console, or rid of it altogether. just trying to find a more concervative way to slap that detuned race engine in my soon to be s30. i shall utilize the search button!
  12. but as for the engine mounts. how solid are they?
  13. hey dizzle, where did you get your mounts from? thanks
