  1. The engine mounts fit the block perfect. I did swap the GTO oil pan with an oil pan from a corvette. The corvette oil pan has more clearance and is internally baffled for road racing.
  2. My Hoke performance LS/T56 kit arrived today. I ordered the kit for an LS2 GTO install (alternator located low on the driver side. I will be installing a 2006 LS2 and T56 transmission from a GTO, in my 1971 series 1 240Z. The kit looks like it is very high quality.
  3. My 1971 240Z has a build date of 8/70, maybe the series 1 240Z's came with different connectors. Just my thought.
  4. Yes I sent pictures to Futofab they said they do not know why my car is different (they work with there 1971 240Z). I guess I will order new connectors that match and re- wire. My old harness is rusted I do not want to re-use it. I was just wondering if I really have different connectors than other 1971 240Z's. Pete
  5. I just purchased a set of new JDM tail lights from Futofab, the harness connector is different from the OEM harness on my 1971 240Z. Does anyone know which is the correct harness connector, Futofab says is should plug in the OEM harness. You can see from the picture the connecters are totally different. Has anyone had this problem. Is there an adapter to go from the JDM style to the 240Z style connector? Is my car different from all the other 240Z's. The picture on the right is the JDM connector. Pete
  6. Just finished installing my Bad dog frame rails. Ran the rear exhaust.
  7. I received my LS2 and T56 power plant. Now starts the engine work. Anyone that has done the LS2 swap and not used the power steering pump. How did you run the accessory belt?
  8. I was wondering what the wedges were for. I did not see them as part of the kit. Now I understand. Pete
  9. Thanks for the picture, can you tell me how far below the frame rails the 2.5" exhaust pipe is were it goes through the Hoke transmission mount. Pete
  10. Does anyone know if the Sanderson 1 5/8" headers on the JTR web site will work with either the Hoke or CRX kit? I have to say that Austin from Hoke has been very helpful answering email questions. To me the customer service may be worth the extra cost. I have never received an email back from CRX. They may just be to busy to answer email questions. I know these headers would not flow as well as long tube headers but I would be able to custom build the exhaust from the header back with 2.5" pipe and make sure I have the most ground clearance possible. I went to pick up my LS2 and T56 at the freight company yesterday and it looks like they dropped something heavy on the top of the engine. Waiting for the insurance company to write me a check before I accept the engine.
  11. I just received my LS2 from a 2006 GTO, looking for engine and T56 mounts. At this point I am leaning towards the Hoke setup, my only reservation is the cost. Is there any builders out there that have installed an LS2 in a 240Z that can give me there experience with the kit. My concerns are I want a setup that allows me to use the low mount alternator, I will be installing a oil pan from a corvette, and I would like the engine to be in the best location for performance, with enough clearance that the exhaust does not hang too low. At this point I will be installing CX racing long tube headers, or making my own.
  12. 1" lowering front springs removed from my 240z. Free to who ever can pick up. I live in the Bay Area CA Pete
  13. I will buy, and come pick them up. I live about 30 miles away. Please let me know as soon as they are available. Thanks, Pete
  14. Does anyone know were I can buy a set of 280Z 27 spline rear stub axles with companion flanges? Thanks, Pete
  15. Looking to buy a set of 27 spline stub axles with companion flanges. Needs to have non damaged threads. Pete
