  1. I believe that I have the parts that you need from an early 280z. I emailed you.
  2. When you ran the RX7 fuel pump did you retain the stock mechanical pump or are you running the electric pump only? Did you run a filter before the pump or is there one built in?
  3. Hi, I was able to run a 280z radiator in my early 260z. All I had to do was buy a lower 280z hose. The radiator is longer and will hang out the bottom by about 3 inches but it will cool better than stock radiator.
  4. Hi, I pulled my auto trans and installed a 4 speed on my 260z and there was some wiring to figure out like reverse lights and the park/neutral safety switch. I didn't have to replace the pedal box assembly even though I bought one all I had to put in was both brake and clutch pedals and springs.
  5. Hi Waddie and all the others with their imput. I appriciate it and am pointed in the right direction I think.
  6. Hi, I got a little creative and used half inch copper water line and sweated a cap on the end. Been over a year and been just fine. Used rubber hose and stainless clamps to keep it in place. I can send you a photo if you like. zedsn@hotmail.com
  7. I will check the screen. What does the Mr. Gasket pump put out 4-6 psi and did you put a regulator up stream as well? How long has the Mr. Gasket pump been in service for?
  8. Hi, wanted to know who has done the conversion and which is better performance wise? I have heard the dual SU seput is better than the dual dgv setup but would like some opinions here. I have a pair of dgv cabs and may consider the swap down the road.
  9. If you get rid of the mechanical pump and put on a electric pump other than having to add an on or off switch should be easy or you could add 260z relays that turn the pump on or off. Off at 0 rmps on at 400 rpms.
  10. other than added fuel pressure I have read that they were trying to take care of vapor lock by adding the electric pump at the back.
  11. Hi, where did you mount the carter? At the back where the electric pump is or in the engine bay area?
  12. Hi, I have the L26 engine with late 240z SU carbs. Car has 85K original miles and motor seems to run very well otherwise.
  13. I am having problems getting my 260z to redline and some helpful people have mentioned that it might be fuel related. My pump at the block is fine but I may want to replace my rear electric externally mounted pump and wanted to know what my options are and the best route to go. Also need to know what psi pump to look for? 2-4 or 3-6 psi. Any help would be appriciated.
  14. You can find the parts for the job on ebay and they are quite reasonable.
  15. I have an intermediate resonator but put on a small can muffler that is pretty free flowing I believe. I took my car up to 6K yesterday and will do that when pushed but seems like she is running out of steam at that point. It will still try to climb but seems to have reached its peak. Anyone adusted their valves and found the car to run better?
  16. Exhaust is fine. Fuel pump seems to be pumping just fine. I get to about 5500 RPMs and the car seems like it is struggling to go any higher. The car runs fine at 5500 just can't seem to get it to go much higher. It is like it is at its peak. I was thinking maybe I should check my vlaves to see if they need adjusted but everything sounds fine under the valve cover. Any otherideas? How would I know if my distributor advance wasn't working properly?
  17. Hi, you will find that the Z cars in general were made pretty cheaply in the day. I have a brand new clutch in my 260z and it feels mundane. Doors close like old GM iron. The 280 injectors could just need a good clean and you could get that done no problem and get them balanced while you were at it. All in all they are what they are, nice looking 70's technology, and cannot be compared to modern day sports cars. Maybe you should look for a nice 300zx. They were very well made and cost alot when new and had many creature comforts. Just my 2 cents.
  18. Hi, I have a brake pedal available that is in very nice shape with good rubber. Pm or meail me if interested.
  19. I put my aluminum flywheel on this spring when I changed out my auto trans and put in a 4 speed setup and couldn't be happier. You can run a stock cluctch but the clutch surface is also larger so you can run a wider disc and pressure plate if you choose as well.
  20. Hi, my 260z is pretty clean but not perfect and I wouldn't sell it for any lower than 4,500 so hopefully the 280z is as nice and can be had for 4500.
  21. Hi, I ran a smaller size stainless canister and am very happy with the results. 260z now sounds like I have a built v8 under the hood at idle and kicking in the car diesn't sound ricey at all.
  22. Hi Aaron, email me at zedsn@hotmail.com and I will take some photos for you. Ed from Ohio.
  23. I have an early 74 260z 4 speed and need to know what to set the timing to in degrees? Any help would be appriciated.
  24. Hi Dennis, thanks for the imfo. I figured I could trim the front of fender lip if need be. Ed from Ohio.
