  1. LOL yeah very nice. What has me thinking is the whole clutch pack Idea. they basically look like clutch packs that you would pull out of an Auto tranny of course much more heavy duty and you could put them around your half shafts instead of having them in the wheel or whatever. Not that improving the Unsprung weight is the edge I need in my driving but.......
  2. I was talking about going pure electric, ( yeah I know I'd have to have some sort of back up) But for the sake of improving possible braking and handling... just seeing what I/we can come up with and to see if anyone else has researched it thoroughly before I really jump in. I know that there are quite a few heavy industrial applications I was thinking in more of a electromagnetic multi- clutch type system. where they are used taking high torque and heat over and over again. they have completely sealed versions as well and they make them to suit size etc etc in whatever need you have. nothing wrong with Looking right?
  3. yeah I've been looking at various Industrial applications some are sealed some are for high heat and torque, and I can't help but wonder why not a Z? And with them being electric you could really do some tricky stuff on in cabin controls etc etc. Maybe even something to help on cornering....but then again thats crazy talk.
  4. Has anyone Looked into possibly putting Electric brakes or electric clutch braking systems on their Z? I know it may sound crazy . But We may be missing out on some good tunability and hey I Know I'd do a double take if I saw a car with no visable brakes : . I did a search but found nothing on it thanks john
  5. I vote for a triumph TR6, maybe give it a little reliability and ease the wrench time.
  6. I would warn on the width of the seats vs space in your Z. I was going to do the same but the 350z seat was a bit wider than would fit in my 77/z. That is if you wanted the seat to slide all the way back. However I might be wrong all together. And if they will work, I'd love to hear about it cause That'd be a sweet upgrade for my Z. even the dash Idea sounds cool to let us all know how it goes
  7. On all my old Z's that I hauled in that had been sitting like that, the fuel pump was usually gummed up from the gas separating. I'd tear that fuel pump apart and make sure she was pumping good and if you still don't get any gas I'd switch lines from the tank and pull from the return line (just to get her started) I know its a PITA because of the different line sizes but its a temporary fix to get the car running. I had to resurrect one that was sitting in a garage for over 20 years under a cover and those following things worked for me. Good Luck! boost on
  8. Actually met the guy who does some of those out in utah. Currently doing a Supercharged Henassy Viper that is currently cranking 800 and change on Hp. Which is just frickin sick! I heard he won some award down at sema for like best new product.... or something like that. when it comes to mounting the turbo in the back by the Axel they say an intercooler isn't needed with all the cooling properties of the Air and oil lines going back to it..... which makes you go hmmm....... My question is, mount it in the trans tunnel or near/above that rearend?
  9. Cool enough, I'll jump under the hood this weekend and see if I can chase that gremlin down. I appreciate the input.
  10. have a turbo motor in my 77. My problem mainly happens when the car is warmed up and that is when I try to boost the car it will go to 0 but not past or if it does it just stumbles. However this is sporadic. This has happened to me when it was cold to... but not near as often. otherwise the car runs great and will boost just fine and pull hard. to me I'm thinking it has to be something electrical
  11. thanks for the help, and I'll give the 3m stuff a try I'll also post a pic when I can get around to it today. thanks again racerx
  12. Ok so My paint has been oxidizing before my eye's and I Need to reclaim the nice paint on my car. I've been out there with the rubbing compounds pouding away at it for hours on end.. and by the time I get done my kids will be old enough to drive it! Any sucess stories of using a product? right now I'm thinking a Paint Job would be an excellent way but will see what I can come up with in the mean time.
  13. Lets see a pic of the header. I deffinitely intrested in one.
  14. So NO one has tried putting 450cc's in their Z with a stock EFI? can the AFM only handle a 18th tooth turn? Thanks for all the imput guyz. boost on
  15. How about AZUCNNV...a z you can envy... Might require to much thought and not so readily IDable... or how about HP2SLOW... but that one my get you a garunteed ticket. hope you find something.
  16. Just a quick thought, why don't you run a size bigger pipe to serve as a heat shield.... don't know how you would make it look good.. but might help.
  17. (Bastaad) I also just finished hanging my large NPR intercooler and looking to upgrade the injectors. So far I have confliciting stories some saying you CAN run the Eclipse Injectors with a stock Air Flow Meter, and as always some saying you can't. Would someone please Set it straight from their OWN experience. thanks jvanen
  18. Hey now the an honest figure, That was on a nice flat straight I-70 highway run with only the occasional car. This was a hit 6500 and let it wind up. Nice cool moisture rich night air helps to. Sorry if it seemed that I implied that I was able to stomp on the gas and in 12 seconds be pushing my car at those revs in bumper to bumper traffic with desert heat.... I need to eat some crow, I went out and took a look at the tach of a 81 zxt and I was speaking out of my butt again the figure is 6800. So rest easy now you know it alls
  19. stock (as far as I know) 81zxt auto 215/60 at 7800 rpms 2am one night... turbo sure does like the high end but the engine lets out a whole new scream at those revs. Poor BMW 5 series didn't want to hang at those speeds either
  20. How much are we looking at on this group buy? I could go for the equip 01 5 spoke wheels. Also what about shipping etc. thanks,
  21. So what about a large NPR intercooler? would that be to much IC for a stock turbo to handle? are we talking major lag time? thanks
  22. Back to the subject on hand though, Prices... any official prices? Ateast this way we can point back to this forum and say "See so and so researched it and the last price for that head was X amount. So whats the price for 5 custom heads? My biggest Question is, how would this affect the SCCA placing of the car if it came stock on some cars? Also isn't this Engine essientially the birth of the Skyline RB? granted they have made some deffinite improvements since the early 70's. boost on
  23. One of the best 2+2's I've seen yet, would also like it for an S30 though. a modern widebody kit like that hasn't been done on any of the Old Z's that I know of. Keep up the good work! boost on
  24. Adding 10" I just wonder if he will have bench seats ....... what would you do with an EXTRA 10" in your Z??? I can only fantasize... boost on
  25. make that a double! I'm intrested also. I just picked up a large NPR IC for cheap (gotta scrub though) Anxious to hear
