  5. Great point. One shaft completely broke and is ruined and the other isn't far behind it. So I have a 4 bolt flange on either side, which year of Z do those come off of? Anyone?
  6. Which years of Z had half shafts that bolted up on both ends? I have a R200 in my 77 and managed to ruin both half shafts. For the life of me I don't remember if my half shafts were stock or not. Any help would be great. maybe I should just bite the bullet and do the Cv conversion instead..... thanks!

If you don't mind me asking, what kind of flairs are those? The whole car looks great!
  10. for the record the swats won't fit either, unless you grind or put another spacer in and thats on the vented rotor setup.
  11. The ZX brakes are a pain in my opinion to spin back, The first tme I did mine I took them off. the tool is nice pliers are ok, I used a screw driver tip wedged in the the little box and with the added leverage of the handle being out so far, I could pop them loose easier. granted, not nearly as quick as using the tool to do that though. Good luck
  12. hey guys thanks for the info! Ill relay the info properly and see if we can be stopping by tonight!
  13. Hey guys I seem to be having a hard time finding the fitting I need that you screw into the side of the caliper to run a little hard line out of, or heck even a ss flex hose. What did you guys use on your conversions?? Right now my bro is doing the conversion for me while I'm 350 miles away.(I know, he is awesome!) So this the problem he ran into. I'd really appreciate any help you can give me on this one
  14. With my Z I"m shooting for more of a BLVD cruiser. So I've been thinking about removing my side mirrors all together and replacing them with camera's and LCD screens. Has anyone looked into this? I have found the back up type systems out there. I also can't find if its leagal to do this either. I know you are required to have 2 mirrors on a vehicle. Nothing about "subsittute" systems though. Personally I like the stream lined look on my Z and I'd probably be mounting the camera's so they'd look safely out the top corners of my back hatch. I'd appreciate feedback.
  15. If something has to stay, I'd keep the back but the whole front 1/2 just ... takes away from the car. With the front and back fenders being all custom and then have a plain door, it makes the door look completely out of place. If you don't touch the fenders, please do something with the nasty bumper on the front. Good luck and Make us proud!
  16. IMO the car already has a lot "going on" with it being a convertible, side pipes etc etc. I might flush mount some side markers and keep with your Smooth theme.
  17. I'm on my 3rd Z which is a 77 280z that Had been sitting in this old ladies garage for over 20 years under a car cover and looked like it just rolled off the show room floor. Original was nice for awhile. I'm all about enjoying the car so its up to 78k. Has an L28et drive line under it, with a NPR intercooler in front of it with 81zx discs on the rear. Have MSns, injectors, intake with all those goodies on the bench ready to go in.
  18. I'm a fan of the por15. At least do the 2nd stage of the treatment where it converts the rust to zinc using what they call Metal Magic. Wether you actually Use the Sealant in the 3rd stage is up to you. Do a few more searches on Por-15 on this site and you'll get quite a few hits to come up. You can go to their website and just order it there as well. It will ease your fuel whoa's
  19. You know, It has similar lines as an Aston Martin. Looks sweet though
  20. Hey I used POR-15. go to their website and check it out. I've used it on motorcycles and z cars. it has worked like a charm for me. http://www.stoprust.net/shop/product_info.php/cPath/31/products_id/73 I've even just used the metal ready and it will give you another lease on life with your tank. of course though Fuel Cells are just cool!
  21. I've cheated before and took out the speedo gear and filled it that way. good luck.
  22. Yeah they say the clamping pressure is harder to control with air brakes but they are fine for big applications where brute strength is needed more than Finesse/ precision
