i had a problem with this too... how i got mine off was removing the steering knuckle from the ball joint and strut tube. Your tie rod is now able to be removed from the steering column with the steering knuckle still connected. When you have both parts off the car i took one blow with the hammer to the tie rod and damn thing popped out. I dont know why it was so easy to removed it with off the car when on the car??? use some liquid wrench or aero kroil, it'll help a lot.

hello Z peoples,
I ran into an issue today with installing the front control arm bushings on my 71 Z. It looks like the front control arm bushings supplied by Energy Suspension doesn't fit my control arms? The bushings diameter is too large to fit through the mount hole? Its not even able to be forced in? The sleeve provided fits fine for the bolt to go through. I read through the parts list and made sure I had the right bushing number that's imprinted on the bushing itself. (bushing #3060 and 3061, front control arm)
One thing I found interesting was that there was another set of bushings that look similar to the front control arm bushings? They fit perfectly snug into the mount hole but the sleeve is too small for the bolt that goes through it??? Another issue was that the bushing part # was not listed in the list of bushings provided with the full kit. (bushing #4066, unknown bushing)
I was wondering if anyone had experience with the Energy Suspension Bushing Kit? Has anyone ran into this problem and if so what did you do? I called and spoke with a tech from energy suspension but he told me that the bushing were correct for my model Z (71 240z).
I am seriously thinking of shaving some material off the bushing to fit the control arms?!?! but i don't know if thats a good idea??? Any help with this is very much appreciated, and thanks in advance!!!

isnt this the wrong section for this question?
-
any word about the struts?
-
i do have a 10" spring.
i had someone else section but i noticed that the MR2 insert is maybe an 1/8 if not less lower to allow room for the cap of the strut housing to screw down completely. Also, just in-case you didn't know the front 240z inserts were used in the rear.
Also, the hole on the top strut hat for the MR2 inserts up front had to be drilled to make a an O from the D shaped hole. I was a little stumped when i was getting ready to put everything together and noticed the top hat didn't fit.
Hope this helps.
Thanks man... I know that fronts will go to the rear. I am going the same route as you with zg flares. Do you have enough travel in the struts with the lowered height with the perch collar welded where it is? And how low you going with your ride height? Sorry to ask so many questions man... just asking you with your experience.

^ this will also help if you are still wanted to save your tie rods. my suggestion is just getting some new ones, hammering on those tie rods really mess up the threads.
