  1. Please PM me with your hp numbers, trans and diff gears and tire sizes. Doing a half mile event in Sep.
  2. Love how little droop the suspension has on the stands-mine hung down like Eyore's ears with Tokicos. Looks like you are running some static positive camber (?) and crowding those rear flares. Heat exchanger looks like it fits perfectly.
  3. That's what I have access to as well. Let er rip!
  4. My car was that rotten. Hang in there-you are doing an awesome job.
  5. Spotted a stock Z32 with a very obnoxious non-stock fluorescent yellow paint job at the British Museum in employee parking. Heading home tomorrow.
  6. Good man! Post your timeslip(s) in this thread and to the timeslip forum. Cheering for you and hoping for a good outing at the track.
  7. I vote for a fiber wheel on a dremel. Put masking tape down first-that reduces chipping too.
  8. Intermittent wifi. Just read the Code of Hamurab(and I quote)i: "the man who leaves his Z-car unmodified will be banished from the city and stoned at next moon rising." The Le Mans event sounds awesome. I did not pee in the subway, but it seems that everyone else does!
  9. I'm traveling in Europe. France and England. Haven't seen any French Z members active but I know we have some members in England and the shop doing the carbor fiber Z is there. I can't get off of the group tour that I am on, but hello to all the international members.
  10. I guess you just wanted to make a contribution to the body carnage forum. Glad you missed your eye.
  11. I'm pretty sure the camber plates in question are for S30s. The ZX strut towers are totally different. If you decide to do camber plates, do yourself a favor and use a product made specifically for your car. You will be money ahead.
  12. Many of us watching this thread are S30 guys. This is a 280zx, right? When I lowered my S30, the camber actually went positive, (which would make the tires wear on the outside) but the geometry may be different for a ZX. Something doesnt fit: can you clarify the identity of the car in question?
  13. The trailer comes out for racing events because its not a question of (if) Im gonna break it. It's a question of (when). A trailer is very handy and lets me participate AND get home for supper.
  14. Thanks. It does spend long periods (like now) when it is in various stages of disassembly.
  15. I would only put undercoating in area where rocks will strike the metal.
  16. Looks great! May I please have your trailer and three-car garage? You have all the tools for success!
  17. Be sure to watch my new drag racing video in the videos section. I hope it is good for a laugh!
  18. Out of town for 9 days. Im in NYC headed to Paris and wish i could have planned to put EvilZ's CCWs in my checked baggage home! Touched base with the shop doing my truck. They have a super clean LQ4 they are prepping to swap into it for me (it took 2 years to swap the Z and the truck is my DD, so I'm paying it out this time). They say that they will likely use a Corvette Accy drive system to allow me to use a car intake (I just like the looks). The LQ4 fits the bill fine cause I want to run 87 octane. Got an email from the used race tire dealer called jphglobal. They finally got a couple of 275/40/17 Hoosier A6s, so I bought a pair for the back of the Z. They don't turn up very often. I'm hardly doing any racing this year, so I will mount them and bag them up in trash bags for next year.
  19. Will it clear with sideburns? Just kidding, but put your helmet on and make sure you don't have to have a crick in your neck when driving. I like it and am jealous.
  20. An LS 2+2 sounds like fun, like a reverse mullet: business in the front - party in the back! I wouldn't worry about the weight distribution if you are determined to use a 2+2. Just have fun with it. Put a huge hood scoop over that truck manifold and let 'er rip!
  21. I offer my build thread in the Member Projects forum. It starts out very similar to your questions and finishes with timeslips from the drag strip. The thread is entitled LS/T56/240z Engine Swap Mentor Wanted. My build isn't perfect, but I have walked the approximate road that you are starting. Feel free to PM me with specific questions once you have been through my thread. I will try to connect you with others who have been successful. It takes time to write a build thread, so there is lots of info missing from most of them, mine included. Like all on-line forums, asking open ended questions that have already been discussed will get you yelled at, but we all do it from time to time. But you will want to avoid getting yelled at if you can avoid it. Read my thread then I will direct you to other threads that are as good or better. The search function only works if you know the right questions to ask.
  22. What have you done? I think you have been faithful and helpful to a great many people over a number of years. That makes one respected.
  23. My summer of racing isn't going to happen. Have relocated Mom to Florence and for the moment we are her only social outlet so most spare time is going to her. Wife put her foot down on a pool, which on the surface isn't too bad. But, my yard has 8' of fall in the zone where the pool needs to go if the world only had 2 dimensions. So, planning for that has my brain pretty tied up as well. Found time to drop of my S-10 truck for a 6.0 LS swap. Hoping to also get a Blazer LSD/disc brake equipped diff put into it too. Budget for that is $5k and one month. I expect both the time and cost to be surpassed. I will be Sharing a car with my daughter, so I expect that to get old for her quick. So, I expect my family to BEG me to get the Z back on the road as a daily driver. That will motivate some much needed Z car time! First step is to finish seat brackets that will give me some helmet clearance. They are bent but need to be drilled and mounted.
  24. All that rust on the top side with a great looking belly-weird. I'm jealous of the bottom side-looks super.
  25. I wouldn't want to hit a bump with that setup. Very cool car nonetheless.
