  1. Even though this concerns brakes, it still applies. On my project I used a Tilton dual master cylinder, which has the 5/16 fitting as well. I replaced the brake lines and simply flared one end with the 5/16, and the other with the 8mm. Worked out great except it was a real bear flaring stainless.
  2. I put 280Z struts w/Ground Control coilovers on my 240 as well. The 280's are taller, but with the popular shortening (front cartriges in the back) it doesn't matter. After sectioning them, I just went off of the 240 perch specs and it came out perfect. I beleive the rear strut towers are actually taller on the 280's as well.
  3. I ended up having to bend mine. It seemed like the easier thing to do than try and bend the fenderwell in. I concluded that with a 1 1/2" tubing, instead of the 1 3/4" I was using, you probably could get by with a straight piece with some very minor fender tweaking. The pic I included isn't the best, but the only one I could get in short order. I'll be road racing mine, so I tied this together with the swaybar mounts which were run through the frame rail as well. You can kinda see it in the pic.
  4. I understand the discussion is about the 'glass bumpers, and $150 is a bit pricey, but my point is it is still considerably cheaper that the stock bumpers. How many people have an old bumper laying around which hasn't been tweaked at all? Aside from that, your right, one could do the same and sell them cheaper, but what is your time worth?
  5. Hey Matt, I wasn't quite sure how to introduce myself. And thanks for the compliments on the car, stop, your making me blush! Here's a link to my gallery on zdriver.com: http://zdriver.com/gallery/showgallery.php?ppuser=3088&cat=500&thumb=1 Its a little further along, but not much. I spent the whole summer working on the truck to pull the car! It will be going this spring do or die. Phil
  6. Hey guys, I'm kinda new here, and a bit confused. I'm hearing that $150 a bumper is a lot, but aren't the stock steel ones something like $350 for front and even more for the back?
  7. Another way to look at it would be by the cylinder head. The P79's found on the ZX's ('79 and later) had a much larger combustion chamber and need the flattops to maintain the proper compression ratio. Phil
  8. All I can say is I live by the torch, Oxy-Acetylene that is. If the bolt or stud doesn't come out easily right off the bat, throw a little heat in the mix and it comes out like butter! Phil
  9. Hi everyone. This is my first post on this forum. Up until now, its mainly been limited to zdriver.com. Anyway, this happens to be a subject which I've been studying greatly and would like to participate in. Unfortunately I'll join the boycott unit someone changes their name!
