  1. No, the vin number does not. The smog shop has a book to reference the equipment on the car and there should be a sticker tag on the hood. It's visual check only. Therefore it depends on the tech person.... LARRY
  2. Yellow is 10lb boost with old heads......418 hp. Red is 10lb boost with old heads......... 397 tq. Red is 10lb boost with new 195 AFR heads...500 hp. Here's the plan..... Rec. my 15x7 Konig rewinds yesterday and next week I'm mounting them using Cooper GT 225/50/15R tires. Ross is shipping the R-230 adapter kit/ custom shafts today. R-230 mustache bar will be ordered next week.A custom front diff. mount/driveshaft will be made and the R-230 will be mounted in JUNE. Then the 195 AFR heads/25 shot will be installed in JULY(50 shot was used in the program). A roll cage is in the planning stages. At this point I'm not changing my hyd. roller cam as it seems fine. The a/f is holding steady at 12.1 so no other major changes are seen at this time. What a great summer this will be...... LARRY

  6. This is how Dan celebrated his birthday SAT. This pic was taken at my house. Dan, one of my dogs (Jester), and his truck with parts we got at Pick/Pull.... a R-200 with extras from a 280Z, rear axle parts from a 300ZXT, and I gave him a 260/280Z dash. What an understanding Z wife he has.... LARRY
  7. That's enough you admins and mods... I'm putting a lock on this thread and throwing it into the recycle bin. .....OH! OH!.... I can't do that... LARRY

  10. This might interest you, at 3000 rpm I'm at 37 deg. and as I stated in my above post, the MSD 6 BTM does the same thing as your set-up. It retards the timing 1 deg. for each 1 lb of boost so at 10lbs of boost on my blower it has reduced the timing by 10 degrees. We are set-up timing wise almost the same. Goes to show you that no matter whether you have a turbo or supercharged engine the basic principals apply to both... Boost is Boost.......... And I will add this ...I tuned my set-up on a dyno and I would suggest to anyone with a high performance engine to do the same. How many times have I seen blown headgasket posts on this board????? LARRY
  11. DAMN this thread has been fun....... LARRY
  12. Let me add this about my set-up... I have a MSD 6 BTM which allows me to run at the edge of detonation. It's pulling 10 degrees of timing at 10 lbs boost which allows me to run at 12.1 a/f and I have a 6000 rev. limiter in it. LARRY
  13. Check this link out..... http://www.atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/runningrich/index.html Here's a quote from that link..... "For turbo cars and high compression cars, the extra gas also has a nice side effect of cooling the mixture and preventing heat triggered igniting of the air&fuel (aka detonation) before the spark ignites it. The rule of thumb for richness and maximum power is 12:5 to 1 at maximum HP point." I'm running at 12.1 at high end rpm and the engine loves it. I've got 10 lbs blower boost with a V-8. My latest dyno sheet is in this thread.... http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=101200 Therefore my advice is to lean it up a notch.... LARRY
  14. Hey Tim, diff. subject but is my hat coming by boat " around the horn"????? LARRY
  15. Q. What should you do if you see your ex-husband rolling around in pain on the ground? A. Shoot him again. Q. How can you tell when a man is well-hung? A. When you can just barely slip your finger in between his neck and the noose. Q. Why do little boys whine? A. Because they're practicing to be men. Q. How many men does it take to screw in a light bulb? A. One - he just holds it up there and waits for the world to revolve around him. OR Three - one to screw in the bulb, and two to listen to him brag about the screwing part. Q What do you call a handcuffed man? A. Trustworthy. Q. What does it mean when a man is in your bed gasping for breath and calling your name? A. You didn't hold the pillow down long enough. Q. Why does it take 100,000,000 sperm to fertilize one egg? A. Because not one will stop and ask directions. Q. Why do female black widow spiders kill their males after mating? A. To stop the snoring before it starts. Q: Why do men whistle when they're sitting on the toilet? A: Because it helps them remember which end they need to wipe. Q: What is the difference between men and women? A: A woman wants one man to satisfy her every need. A man wants every woman to satisfy his one need. Q: How do you keep your husband from reading your e-mail? A: Rename the mail folder: "Instruction Manuals" LARRY
  16. When I have too much time on my hands I wonder about things like this... Is there somewhere a list of admin/mods on this site that we can access??? If not can we have one???? What's the diff. in responsibilities between the two??? Is it just me or have some people changed their status back to, member only, lately??? To ban someone is a vote taken and how many vote, does it take a simple majority for yes or no???? O.K. That's enough, time to do some chores.... LARRY
  17. I'll get back to you later today...... Never had any fuel or exhaust fume problems. My problem now is the need for AFR heads on account of going to 10 lb boost. LARRY
  18. Hmmmm. ...... The stock cylinder head bolt is 51-61 ft-lb and you are splitting the diff. and using 55 ft-lb. Using that logic split the diff on the main and use 36 ft-lb... LARRY
  19. I guess I didn't word my statement right. I wasn't arguing with you, I was agreeing that the old rule of thumb is no longer true........ Also I think you would see a nice increase in power with a 3 in. mandrel bend upgrade based on my exp. after my exhaust upgrade. Forcing more air with fuel into an engine means that it's converted into power and needs to be released thru the exhaust with the least restriction...... LARRY
  20. If you are refering to the main bearing cap it's 33-40 ft-lb..... LARRY
