  1. This is one way to address your mounting problem that we used on my car. BTW I don't think you are going to like the sound of your set-up after what you did to the internals. I've found that with time your exhaust sound improves and gets louder and lower pitched by leaving the internals just like they are. Good Luck on this.... LARRY

  5. A few people have said the same thing to me. Some people think the car pictured in this thread is my 75 280Z SBC/BLOWER that is painted yellow. No this is my faded yellow 72 240Z. Seeing that my 80 280ZX is red and my 74 260Z is white. I have not decided on what color to paint the 240 or what engine to put in it although SR is spinning in my head....LOL It will not be red, white, or yellow. Z GODS please turn the faucet off!! LARRY
  6. The first whole day of sun in 6 weeks must of got to me....Read his first 4 posts from almost 2 years ago. My suggestion to you is start at the first forum and search them all. All the info you are looking for are in the archives on this site... Have a nice day LARRY
  7. Although it rained earlier, the sun is out now and no rain Thurs., but rain Fri. thru Tue. of next week. Just to give you an idea of this, the Yosemite National Park has accumulated 5 to 8 feet of snow over 8000 feet in the last 3 days on top of a 150% avg. of snow pack ...... Damn.... LARRY
  8. In this link is what speedo gear to use with different diffs.....http://www.geocities.com/zgarage2001/engine.html LARRY
  9. Okay...Okay.... On my 72 240Z, I've stripped the interior, pulled the old dash and put the guages /harness in the new dash, pulled the engine /tranny, and pulled the exterior parts off. I need to clean up the engine compartment and do the pre- prep for paint. So Z gods, after 25 days of rain since MAR.1, please STOP the rain..... :hail: It's raining right now...... LARRY
  10. I've noticed the same thing for the last week or so and maybe it's just me but at the same time that happened the currently active users is now averaging between 300 and 400. I'm guessing a time period function was changed but I find having 200 guests on at one time is hard to believe but that would be great. LARRY
  11. Drop down to fuel pump hole on this thread....http://www.geocities.com/zgarage2001/p90.html LARRY
  12. I used the 6 bolt 3102-42 on my R-230 conv. and rec. it in 2 days from my phone placed order using that supplier provided by Beck in his post.... LARRY
  13. Read post #3 of this thread.....http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=104187&highlight=gif LARRY
  14. I also have the MSA type 3 front air dam and I'm using Cooper Cobra GT 225-50-15 tires and as you can see I had to take very little off the rear lip of that air dam for turning purposes. As to the ride, it was a nice improvement in tracking and slow speed turning over the 195 tires I had on the 14" old rims.... LARRY
  15. To answer a couple of questions.... I could not get the f/r weight figures. A few weights pulled off the net..... 70-73 240Z....2355 lbs. 74 260Z.........2665 lbs. 75 280Z.........2875 lbs. The last 2 years of the 280Z were lighter due to the bumper change. 79 280ZX 2+2..2915 lbs. 83 280ZXT......2825 lbs. 90 300ZXTT....3474 lbs Giving some more thought to my weight I still have the rear heavy-*** bumper on and I have added frame rail supports on each rail. LARRY
  16. FWIW.... The original stock 75 280Z 2 seater weighed 2875 lbs..... LARRY
  17. One more thing about the R-230 conv. Wot at a dead stop after I had the new AFR heads installed caused the rear of the car to pull to the right. I had a 4 wheel align. done and the drivers side rear had a -7 toe and the pass. rear had a -2 toe. Don't know if I always had that or it was the conv. My tires never broke before the new heads at wot from a dead stop. Now they light up.... So, I'm ordering adj. rear control arms to correct this......Plus some throttle control. LARRY
  18. The R-230 is from a 91 300ZXTT. It is one heavy piece of equip.... Don't forget I have the Weiand blower which adds around 50 lbs to my set-up..... LARRY
  19. After the R-230 conv., AFR heads. Konig 15x7 rims/ 225/50/15 Cooper tires, and 3/4 tank of gas she weighed in at 2970 lbs. on our truck scale in town. Before with the stock R-200, iron Chevy heads, 14 in. rims/ 195/70R/14 tires, and 1/4 tank of gas it was 2920 lbs. It's a beast of burden. LARRY
