  1. I haven't been to the drag strip since May. It's time to test some of the mods I've made since then. - Ported the runners on my Stealth Ram intake - Added a switch to lock up the torque converter clutch on the 2-3 shift - Distributor-less ignition I hope to do better than my previous best of 11.46@119 with EFI. Don
  2. EDIS4/6/8 all use a 36-1 wheel. There are 36 teeth, one every 10 degrees, with one tooth missing to sync up the crank position. Here's a link to an excellent write-up on how it works... http://www.bgsoflex.com/mjl/mjl_edis_summary.html Don
  3. No distributor? No Problem! I sawed off an old points distributor to plug the hole and turn the oil pump. I need to find a cap to cover the spinning washer on the end of the cut down shaft. I made my trigger wheel by cutting notches in a unused belt groove on the crank pulley. I marked the pulley every 10 degrees and used a grinder to cut the notches. I know it's not 100% accurate, but I think it's close enough. It fired right up on the first try! I bought a set of spark plug wires for a 4.6L Mustang, but I don't like the way they fit. I need to find a set with 90 degree plug boots. Don
  4. Here are the part numbers for flange yokes that adapt the 1310 series u-joint to the R200... Neapco: N2-2-899-1 Powertrain Industries: 3102-39 If your local driveshaft shop can't get them, I'd bet that JTR has them in stock. Don
  5. Thanks. Here's a link to a post with info on the Cobra wheel install... http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=97675 I've got 245/45-17's on the front and 255/45-17's on the rear now. Don
  6. v8dats, I added one more pic to my album. Don
  7. Pete, I'll boot my old laptop when I get home and send you the msq files. I'm running MSnS_Extra_024s7(i think) code now, but I started with the standard MS code and should still have the old msq file. Don
  8. Engine: 383ci small block Chevy 10.3:1 compression AFR 190 heads Lunati hydraulic cam .480 lift, 230@.050 duration Hooker 1 5/8" block hugger headers and a single 3" Dynomax ultra flow muffler Holley Stealth RAM intake, 36 lb/hr injectors, LT1 throttle body Transmission: 2004R w/2400 RPM stall Diff: R200 3.54:1 w/clutch LSD 240Z 1/2 shafts w/Neapco Brute Force ujoints The car weighs about 2825 lbs with me in it. It's a blast to drive! Don
  9. The .6" is the spacing between the holes in the board. You want the spacing between the resistor leads, after they are bent, to be .6" as well. Don
  10. Here are the maps for my 383 SBC with Holley Stealth Ram intake and 36lb/hr injectors. Not perfect, but good for 11.49@119MPH at the track and 19MPG on my commute... Don
  11. Sounds like a fun project. I think EDIS8 is the best way to go. http://megasquirt.sourceforge.net/extra/edis-whatyouneed.html The wheel decoder is supposed to work on a V8, but I haven't seen any instructions for a V8 install. Don
  12. I bought a adjustable vacuum advance kit made by Crane Cams. The kit allows you to tune the vacuum advance curve. It came with a limiter plate, but it didn't fit my MSD distributor. I ended up making a limiter plate out of sheet aluminum. Don
  13. > I picked up 25hp on the dyno by locking the converter. > Locking the converter will net me at least .2 and 2-3+mph in the ET. I could have used this knowledge the day I ran 11.16 @ 122.
  14. Congrats! Glad to hear you got it working. Don
  15. > I have full voltage at 11 on the db37 Pin 11 should be GND. Pin 28 is +12V > x13(off of 11) is the only place on the ms board I seem to get any signifcant voltage at. X13 should be floating. It is connected to pin 29 on the DB37. > why are 20 and 31 ground when they should be 5v? Just because you measure 0V doesn't mean they are ground. To check for ground, you should use a ohm meter to measure the resistance to a known ground pin. What is the voltage at pin 1 of U5? It should be slightly less than pin 28 of the DB37. Don
  16. I would get the power supply circuit working before going any further. Check the polarity of the diodes and make sure you put enough solder to completely fill the barrels. Don
