Gorgeous! I can definitely understand wanting to go back to stock body lines. There's beauty in the simplicity. Congrats, Clive! And this may be the final version of EvilZ...but you can always call the next series of monsters by a new name haha. P.S. - The original EvilZ (gray '73) will probably be for sale soon as a project. I unfortunately just don't have the time for it.

My old '75 280z. Paint code 302: Leaf Green. Older repaint, but still looked decent. Lots of cool tones in different light.

Clive, just saw this. I couldn't find it on the NY craigslist or the LI craigslist. Is it still up? If so, can you send me a link? Thanks

Got the grille, windshield and even a 240 front bumper. (Thanks, Dave!) Coilovers/shocks taken care of. Still looking for a 5 speed, airdam, BRE spoiler....

good point, thanks! I'll look into that.

I'm looking to buy some parts for my next Z project. I'd rather the parts be local (I'm located in Corning, NY) but I wouldn't mind traveling a little bit to pick stuff up. Not to CA though! - Coilovers for a '75 280Z. Not looking to spend a ton of money. If I don't find something soon, I'm just going to buy Ground Control coilovers and new shocks. - Shocks to use with the coilovers. (Illuminas, AGX, Koni, KYB etc...) - MSA Type 1 Front air dam, vented, urethane - BRE style rear spoiler - 240 Grille - Front windshield in good condition - Larger than stock sway bars - Strut tower braces - '82 280ZX 5-speed with 0.745 final gear - F54 block (for a buddy) Please include pictures with descriptions if possible. Thanks!

Got a shortblock for sale cheap if anyone's interested... (Upstate NY) Also have a P-79 head at home on Long Island. http://rochester.craigslist.org/pts/2270368857.html -
zip, thanks for the response. Why to a Canadian buyer? Because there aren't as many examples in this shape available to them? I'll try to get an engine shot soon. Any other opinions?

I know someone who is looking at a '71 240Z to restore, and I wanted to get some feedback as to what you guys thought the car was worth. He asked me, and I wasn't 100% sure being it's a one-owner, low mileage car. I'm used to buying $1-3k Zs that are nowhere near this nice. It's a original owner car, with only 56k on it. It has been off the road for ~20 years. I'm not sure (yet) if it runs or not. From what I can tell it's been in storage in NY. Looks pretty good from the pics. The interior could use some love (judging by the seats) but not terrible by any means. Looks like a later year production model, judging from the circular Z emblem on the quarter. A repaint would most likely be in order. So what do you guys think? Let's assume it has minimal rust, it'll run after being gone through (fresh gas, oil, etc), and it's all original (#s matching and such)... I would put it around $3-5k depending on the rust situation. But that's kind of a shot in the dark, which is why I wanted to get some more opinions. And what should this be worth after a full resto? ~$10k? Thanks!!

Formerly Evil Z lq4/t56 widebody 240z

just to update everyone on this car, I bought it in September of 2010. I'm planning on finishing her up over the next few years. I was originally going to swap my '75 280Z over to a LS1/T56, but then decided to start with some fresh metal. This car had a lot of things I was planning on doing, already done so it made sense. I still have my '75 so I can keep driving that when this one gets me frustrated. This way I don't rush the build. I'll get started on her in a few months when I finish college, and (hopefully) get a job back around home. For now, I'm planning on doing a '02 LS1 or LS6/T56 with the R230 and hopefully I can get the 300zx TT rear subframe to work. I'll be using the IMSA rear flares, and I'll probably get some flares for the front as well. Once I get started on her, I'll make sure to start up a build thread. I've got most of my inspiration to get into these cars from this forum. I've always been a muscle car guy at heart, but I fell in love with the Z as soon as I drove one. So this is the best of both worlds! -
My 240SX rear IRS swap into my 240Z

anyone know why I can't see the posted images from this thread? I'm going to be doing this swap in my 240Z, and your pictures would really help, maichor. Thanks! -

I love this thing. I think I should buy it haha -
I bought my '75 280z with these rims on it. They're in pretty good shape. 14" in size. There's even a matching spare! I believe they're ET Wheels...as per the center caps... They have practically new tires on them... What do you think they'd be worth if i tried to sell them?

I had a very similar problem with my '75 280 for a few months. It had been sitting for almost 20 years, so I went through the fuel system...painstakingly restored the tank, new filter, new pump, new inline fuel filter in front of the tank, new injector connectors, thermotime switch connector, removed a spider web of an alarm system, made sure it had enough gas, and it would still be starved for fuel at times...FRUSTRATING, to say the least. BUT then I went after the fuel interlock relay. I was about to bypass it when I decided to check my coil. I believe the coil readings were a little low, so I replaced the coil out, and the problem disappeared!! I believe the interlock relay gets a signal from the coil, and this may have been fluctuating due to a bad coil. Not sure, but it worked for me. Hope it helps!
