yeah, i got the flywheel today. took 3 days to get here, not too bad at all hehe 320$ shipped @ http://www.coximport.com guy was really nice, placed order over the phone.. simple and easy. only thing i notice is that the flywheel has a few scratches on it, i dunno why exactly. but it kinda looks as though someone bought it, tried to install it and found out it was the wrong one or something. it looks basically brand new minus a few scratches *not deep at all* just surface. these are some pictures and you can see kinda what i'm talkin about.. i'm not really sure if i should contact him and say anything.. or if i should just say screw it and go ahead and install it. now i'm just waiting on my nice little clutch, should be here monday. yay

i've heard a few things about it. they say to call your local tax office and talk to them. if the car was last in your name you should be ok.. they'll just mail you a new one. if it wasn't they will mail the old owner and have him sign a paper or something, releasing the car to you.. then mail you title. just depends

try ebay, they sell some replacement floors for the 70s z-cars.. i know there was a guy sellin some for a 280zx right now.. he might have some for your car. -- his auction is no longer on there.. kinda wish i could figure out who it was =( i'll keep an eye out though. -- also, i have a rust... HOLE.. under where my spare tire goes. lol.. i'm removing all the tar and stuff from my hatch and going to use a torch to cut out around the spot and just weld up some sheet metal and form it. lots of work for fixin some damn rust lol.

has anyone ever seen a flywheel lock for datsun? my uncle use to work on porsches and he said they're a hell of a lot better than using a large screwdriver.. lol ive been looking for one in general and everyone is looking at me like 'wtf are you talking about?' only place i've been able to find any is @ etoolcart.com and they only sell one for porsches and vws. if anyone has any ideas i'd appretiate it lol.. that and i need some good proof to go tell the jackass at autozone that the tool does exist *not specific to my car* damn guy asked me if i drove a honda =| *dies*

i've been searching like 2 hours and i cannot find any post where someone has listed the required parts to make a na to turbo on the l28e. all i can think of off the top of my head is: manifold turbo downpipe turbo ecu (does it matter if it comes from auto or 5spd? for a 5spd. -- heard conflicting things..) turbo maf (?) turbo injectors (or better) if you guys can point me at a post or answer the question i'd appretiate it. thanks -jon

Ok, searched a bit.. found some of my answers. Anyone got any ideas on a clutch? I see good things about SPEC & ACT, and a lot of people with diff opinions on the flywheel.. how its better to have stock, better to have lite, etc etc. Would it be a good idea for a car that is going to be driven around town, to work, etc.. and occassional racing? =P thanks

I'm replacing the clutch and flywheel on my 280zx.. I bought the car for like 200$. Drove it around a while and you could tell that the clutch was making a little bit of noise when not clutched in (idle). I didn't think about the clutch rubbing on the flywheel at the time. *don't know jack shit about cars lol* .. so basically I was driving around one day and left a red light when I heard a loud pop and all of the sudden my tach went straight to 6k. *clutch wasnt engaging* .. it proceeded to give me more shit and then I pulled into a parking lot. It still drives around and what not.. just really freaking loud (higher rpm, louder noise.) It goes into gear just fine and everything *sometimes it slips a bit* but not badly at all. I took her home immediately and left it. A few of my friends have told me the clutch probably tore up the flywheel. Would that be correct? Assuming so I decided to go ahead and get a new clutch and flywheel. The *While I'm at it* syndrome got me.. so I'm thinking of buying the fidanza alum flywheel -- found it for 320 shipped. I was also looking at a SPEC stage II clutch for 330 shipped. I've seen a few people say you can't use certain flywheels with certain clutches and what not.. I don't know if this is true or not, but if it is/isn't let me know Also I've heard a few things about how the lightweight flywheel messes with the *drivability* .. havn't seen any specifics but if anyone knows exactly how this affects it, please lemmy know If any of you guys have any alternate suggestions for parts, or places to get it cheaper.. or know what I believe to be the problem is not.. pleeeease say so.
