  1. Ok, Yes, This was exactly my problem. I was using this wiring diagram and it failed to show that one side of the injectors is connected to constant 12v. I looked at another wiring diagram and it has it there, so I know this is correct. Thanks for the help...the car is running, leaking coolant, but running. The timing is a little off, maybe a tooth too retarded...darn! See Correction on the Left Side.
  2. 83ZXT in '75z New pistons 8.5:1 compresson. Problem: Car is not starting Fuel pump is working, Have spark(not perfectly timed, but in the ballpark) I think I've connected and Ohmed out everything I need on the wiring harness from the sensor to the ECU. Right now, I am not running a Vacuum Control Modulator, or Air Regulator (only '75 Throttle Body with Ol' Skool Idle adjustment screw) IAC (whatever that is) is not being used. New Cylinder head temp sensor. Grounds are good I think. I have checked the MAF for voltages. It has some voltage from the ECU (8.5v) I ohmed it out at 300-400ohms. I checked the injector wires for voltage while cranking and 0v was discovered. What could be causing this I wonder....I searched. Apparently injuctor pulse/firing is based off Intake air Volume and RPM and TPS I gather? All of those sensors are connected. Any other thoughts? Anyone?
  3. Ebay hey? What did you pay for it? Where is the 2mm available I saw the one from Courtesy Nissan (Over $100) is that about standard? Thanks
  4. I think that would look Hot if that rear section was all one piece (or at least looked like it. Then the lights were all frenched in. I had good luck just removing the stock lights and stuffing some bare PCB board with leds and using 220ohm resistors for current limiting. Then I used 2 part epoxy to glue the boards to the back of the taillights. Looks great with a deep red color. Tip: Use a lot more LEDs than you think are necessay, I used about 30 per light! Jameco electronics sells 100 High Output LEDs for 11.00 plus shipping. I was planning on drawing up a schematic and parts list soon, I've just been too frickin busy with this turbo swap.
  5. This is pretty rough but I'm getting frustrated with PS too. I love anything 5 spoke personally. That gray color looks good. Maybe add some Datsun or "Z" centercaps. Greg
  6. They gave me accurate lead times on the pistons they made me a few months ago. A little pricey but that was JE not TEP. Rep was helpful but a little short with me. B+
  7. Yeah, I found out you can strip the threads in the block at about 30 ft/lbs with lubed up threads. Or maybe the threads were bad in the first place, but I thought my machine shop would tell me that. Ohh well, I have to piclk up some heli-coils. I've had good luck and never needed heli-coils before...any tips? Also, does anyone remember the thread size and pitch of the head stud bolts. Thanks,
  8. Hey, Check to see if Ross will make less than 4 pistons at a time. That was their requirement when I bought pistons a few months ago. Good luck.
  9. Nice Work!! Good Blue..but buff it out. Yeah... you'll wanna ditch the J pipe soon I hope for a sweet chrome IC Safer for higher boost and that'll set off the front end. BTW: EVos have a front mount IC sprayer to spray a mist on it. Do you think that is just a wiper fluid pump and special nozzle?
  10. Hey Matt, Yeah, I'd like to check that out. I can source the maxima rear caliper brackets from Courtesy Nissan for $79 each. Paul gave me some ss brake lines, and I have a ZXT brake booster to install. I would like to do the rear disc conversion at the same time. Call me up 262 818 0747. BTW: the link to your pictures isn't working. I'd like to see the progress. Greg
  11. What type of modifiacation is necessary? I have a 280zxt parts car and would like to use the rear brakes if I can. Can anyone refresh the picture in the first post...it has expired or something. Greg H
  12. HI, I plan on doing a basicly stock rebuild of an 83 L28ET. IC'd and about 8-10psi. What is the advantage of using forged pistons vs stock? Can I just re-ring the stock pistons if I only hone, and not bore out the cylinder walls? Please advise.
  13. How much do you need to shorten the driveshaft? My swap is an 83ZX 2+2 turbo to a 75 280z. I just won the bid on the 75 blue 280z on Ebay. (Minnesota) Thanks, GHtokyo Waukesha, WI
  14. Has anyone tried the Power Windows from 280zx in 280z? I mean, I might just wanna get the Spal system or similar. Those cable drive motors are pretty good. I think the install is a few hours on a good day.(yeah.. never) I have 280zx Parts car which I hope to swap the Power Locks over too. The control boxes are under the pass seat. I think the actuators would work on any locks. If I do it soon, I'll post pics.
