I had a 240z tank and a tank from a 260z 2+2 both removed at the same time, and no they are not the same. I dont have the 2+2 tank anymore (sold it) but i think from memory the 2+2 tank is wider, and the hump on the top of the tank is bigger. I doubt it would fit in a 2 seater, but I never tried it. as for the opposite, thats been answered in the other thread

I dont think theres turbo F54 block and a non turbo F54 block. Theres just a F54 block. What makes a turbo engine is the low compression dished turbo pistons. The N42 block was used as a Turbo engine by nissan too, wasn't it. So that would be a "turbo block" too wouldn't it. A block's a block. its the rest of the engine that makes it a turbo engine. Even the P90 head isnt a Turbo head, it was used on non turbo engines by nissan too.

That would be a waste gate.

Where did you get the new exhaust manifold from? What brand is it? How much was it? Ive been looking for a standard L28ET manifold, but that one looks heaps better. I bet its a fair bit lighter too.

Picked up the turbo yesterday. Its got 4 pipes coming off the center, so i guess its water cooled (2 oil, 2 water). Now I need an L28ET exhaust manifold to bolt it too.

If you want a 3 litre or 3 litre turbo, try using a Nissan RB30E or RB30ET from a VL commodore. Parts will be alot easier to get in Aus, and probably cheaper than trying to find rare old nissan parts. But if you must have an L series. Try looking for parts form NZ. They got alot of Jap spec cars there, and LD28's are fairly common compared to Australia. Try http://www.trademe.co.nk and search for LD28 and you'll see what I mean. A friend of mine has a turbo from a VG30. He was going to use it in his project car (TX-3), but has lost interest and is selling the turbo. He said it was a newer ball-bearing turbo. I was wondering what sort of turbo was on the VG30, and would it bold onto a standard L28 turbo manifold. I'm guessing no, as when I searched the forums I couldn't find an answer, one way or another. Anybody have the L28ET flange dimensions?

P.S. Anybody seen Corvette Summer? It's a really bad movie that Mark Hamil made after Starwars, featuring a really ugly corvette. The Scene where the Devil Z is being hoisted around the Wrecking yard, is similar to a scene in that movie. I remember seeing it a long time ago on TV, and from what I can remember, Luke, ahh Mark, whaterver his character is called, was in a wreckers looking for a car to fix up, when a corvette badge falls to the ground infront of him. He looks up and a corvette is being hoisted around the wreckers, he stops them from crushing it, fixes it up ... i dont remember the rest of the movie, just the junk yard scene.

Now we just need some people to translate it to english for us I was thinking, if we extracted the audio, cut it up into downloadable chunks, and put it up somewhere, that we might be able to get some Japanese/english speaking people to translate it. Then we could add subtitles to the video, but I havent found any video editing software that can handle the file yet.
