Wow, I love this setup.

You drove into the rust belt to buy a datsun? :skep: Good luck with the project.
-
Sweet setup, but we've got to talk about that door alignment.

You'll be fine up to ~15 pounds on meth, but let the meth run out and you'll lose a piston. Ask me how I know.
-
Very nicely done.

Well, it was UNBELIEVABLY bad. I guess I should have figured...
So where did the pics come from? This was someone's failed abortion of a cage, I assume.
There is a link to the rest of the gallery in my original post. It turned up on a local (to me) site.

Not a z, but not sure what it is either.
-
Whew.... Thank goodness...
Ha, I thought putting it in non-tech would be a clue.
-
This was meant as a joke, btw.

Found. This can save you a lot of frustration if you are having trouble connecting to Megatune for some reason.

Anybody know where I can find that program that scans your computers ports and tells you what is connected, baud rate, ect? I used to have it but I reinstalled windows and can't find it now. It was run from the command line if I remember correctly.
TIA
Edit: I've tried looking in Device Manager and for some reason it doesn't list my ports.

here is the info from my last invoice:
Item Description Unit Qty Price
--------------- ------------------------------ ------- --- -------
MGC37F DB37 Female-Female Mini Gender $4.25 2 $8.50
Great, thanks!
I ordered one.
-
The gender changers I bought worked fine for connecting the relay board directly to the MS box. I measured them when they showed up, they do not just go straight through pin to pin.
Care to link me? I've been looking for something like that.
-
Still need this question anwered, also, is there really only one one wire coming off the distributor to the relay board? What about the other two wires and the ground? The ground may include the two wires, but regardless, what goes where?
-
The relay board is missing from both of those diagrams.
It will look something like this, but his diagram doesn't include MSD. Should get you started, though.
Your db37 cable which you will either need to make or buy will run from the relay board to the ecu.
-
This thread is ollllld. Haha, I definitely wasn't thinking too clearly when I came up with this idea. The way the gender changer plug (actually, was just a solder cup) works is basically a straight through, while the cable you need to actually make MS work needs to be the opposite, like a mirror image of each solder cup.

I am guessing he is talking about the weight of the wheels. Since they are a less expensive wheel they are not light. It is an issue for all out racing, but for someone on a budget and doing track days, I see nothing wrong with them. They give you more contact area for a decent price.
Yeah, Pete. I'm not a racer so I don't really know what I'm talking about, but for a lightweight z wouldn't you want the smallest wheels that fit over your brakes? Less rotational inertia, unsprung weight, ect.
I'm not trying to be an ass, your car looks amazing. I can only hope mine looks as good someday.
The stuff legends are made of. Epic story of $500 E30 competing along side WRC
