  1. I've connected my laptop to the controller while in the car and I get nothing. I've used the port checker and it told me MSnS_E 021s. I've activated 021s in MT and configured the embedded code parameter. When I have the stimulator hooked up, MT will only respond to a baud rate of 9600. Isn't MSnS_E supposed to be 115200? IDK, sounding familiar to anyone?

  2. It took me awhile to find this link http://www.britishv8.org/Articles/MGB-Front-Suspension-Upgrade.htm but I had read about this in a magazine and thought that something like this could be made for a Z car and bolted into the stock cross member location. By scratch building something like this someone could put the steering rack in front of or behind the cross member.

Here is something similar but more complicated and also includes a subframe connector (for a g-body)

  3. Thanks for the response; I'm talking about the tach input on the relay board. I realized that spinning the distributor will cause a test light to flash when pointed to the spot indicated by the red dot on this diagram. I'm trying to set the initial timing and I still can't get the middle led to light on the MS unit. I have tested the unit with a stim on my desktop and all seems well. I have not been able to get a laptop connected to the unit while it's in the car.

  4. I'm wiring my relay board. I've got a 1k-ohm 1/4 watt resistor that I've run between the +12V injector block and the TACH input per moby's sticky. After wiring it up, I put a test light on the TACH input and got nothing. When I pull the jumper wire with the resistor in it off the TACH terminal, the test light shows power, but as soon as I put it back on the TACH terminal it goes dead again. Is this normal?

  5. heres what I do, even though I am FAR from actively searching for a car to buy.. I do this both for old skool subarus and datsuns.

One day I took the time to go to the craigslist of each city in the state of Florida, go to the Cars for sale section and simply look up "datsun," lowercase, click on search dealers and private parties, and when I got to the results page, I bookmarked it.

I put all those bookmarks in their own sub folder, and now all I have to do is open Mozilla Firefox (web browser) and go to that bookmark folder, and at the bottom there is an option to "open all in tabs." This opens the search string for every city in a separate browser tab, instantly. (well, as fast as the connection speed can handle it) I don't know if IE or other browsers have a feature similar to the "open all in tabs" that firefox gives me.. but if not, that is only ONE of about 3496861395687 reasons to switch to firefox.

Sounds like you've never heard of crazedlist.org. It does what you've just described, but it does it all in one window without all of the leg work. It only works with firefox

  6. I just looked, and its the highest veiwed and replied post to ever be in the L 6 section!

And for good reason! I'm glad the mods are keeping this thread clean, it really is going to be the first impression a lot of traffic will get of the site.

  7. That's my point, there is no arguement. smiley-cheers.gif

The only qualm I have with rustoleum is that in order to repaint with traditional paint I've heard that the car needs to be taken back to bare metal.

Derek, can you recommend a good yet affordable ($200-$300 range) single stage paint?
