Hey guys, was trolling round the net to pass some time and happened upon the weber site. After some reading in the setup and jetting area i read that 45mm webers should never run less than a 34mm Venturi (choke) now im running a 32 as are a few ppl i know and weber recommend a 36mm. Is anyone out there running a 36mm venturi in their 45 webers? If so whats the power delivery like, any flat spots. If not im keen to get this done along with planing my P90 to try and get compression into the 10s. Thanks -
Hey guys, Found some 44 Solexs for a good price and was wondering what is the main difference between the design and performance of 44 solexs vs 45mm webers (not taking into account chokes and things like that. My 45s have 32 mm chokes and im not sure on teh size of the Solexs). Any input would be appreciated. Thanks

Ah thanks Tim, thats the answer i needed. Lover, how much advance do you run, when i bought it i had 45 degree but a mechanic friend of mine turned it down to 20 something. Without the advance should i turn it back up?

Hey guys, I noticed a while ago that because of my weber manifold i dont have anwhere to attatch my vacum advance. Now that im working more on rev matching and stuff for down hill racing (if you could call it that) i notice that the carbs do not respond well to a quick burst of fuel and so the down change is screwed. Is this a result of not having vacum advance? If not is it hindering me not to have it? ANd how can i hook it up if i need it? Im not fussed on tapping a screw into the manifold as i dont want to disturb the air flow. Thanks guys

If you are going to replace your speedo and tach you do need 5" monster gauges to fit properly. But you can get 5" ones and with a few mods fit them in the original beizle. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=97851

That would be great if i lived in sweden (was actually looking for IT work over there for a working holiday) but ive found someone to do it for 80AU, might not be supercheap, but its bearable, plus they do alot of show cars and very professional installs. Thanks again!

wow that looks great you obviously know what you are doing, i guess the least i can do (as i have no exp in fibreglassing) is gather ideas on how i want to do it and hand someone the money to do it. Great Job on the SAAB

Wow daniel they look great. But how much room does that leave you for leg room. I agree 6.5s are not an easy install and i may have to rethink alot, but i have no qualms in making pods as i want to get my door retrimmed anyway (sorry i cant share the love of the woodgrain strip). I like the pod idea, sorry but in the footwell you wont get enough air behind a 6.5 to make it worth while. Anyway it goes its gonna be custom. And the best way to decide on custom is see what others have done. Yes. We need an interior section.....

Hey guys Recently bought a new pair of 6.5 inch speakers (ZX model cadence actaully has a Z emblem on it lol) and aside from creating a speaker pod on the door i wanted to know how other people had installed their sound systems. There should be a forum for interior stuff. But anyway, how have ppl mounted splits and compnets in Zs? FYI i alrady have a set of 6*9 where the tool box should be so i dont wanna mount my new 6.5 in the hatch area.

Depends what venturis/main jets you are running the number is inscribed on the bel housinng, you can look into the front where the trumpets would go to find out

Hey guys, I found this pic a little while ago and it has gotten me thinking about creating a cutom panel like this one for a 260. I think that it would really spruce up the interior where you could mount a couple of custome vents and any gauges you wanted (ignition start button perhaps?) Yeah matt black for sure. Lol the spoiler, you have no idea how much crap i get for having that spoiler! But i love it, hence Moby . It was on the car when i bought it but i do believe that Victoria British has one. Wow what a responce. Mike, If you had time to mock one up in photoshop that would be great. i have 2 galleries, the one at CZC is the best, but they have some file protections on the pics so you need to be running Opera or Mozzilla to save them. Yeah that looks great. The problem is i dont have ZG flairs (one day when i get some watanabes) and my car isnt orange, which looks great with black. I knocked this up in photo shop in a couple of minutes, what do you guys think? Thanks to Z-POint from CZC for the pic. NB. Hey guys, Am finally getting some panels touched up and while i am getting the bonnet redone i was wonder if anyone had any pics of and red Z with a blacl bonnet. I know the black bonnet was offset by the black ZG flares, but since i dont have them im wondering if anyone has any pics or opinions, otherwise ill just paint it red again. Thanks

I have recently had to remove some valve springs from my head. The valve spring compressor I was using was the one wind on type where one end sits over the retainer and then you wind onto the face of the valve. I can't begin to descrbie how much trouble this thing has been. Some of the valves were downright impossible to get out with this thing. In my datsun book it shows a completely different sort of valve spring compressor that they use. Its a long handle with a big hook on the end, and 3/4 way up the handle there is plunger looking thing which sits on the retainer I guess....Will this make my life a lot easier..and where could I find it ??

So no-one has an issue with running a 2ltr 6? i guess its really the image that gets me, but an exra 2k for 500cc, i mean thats just harsh
