  1. i found this, would it work for home-made resistors "If your injectors are paired up and you want to use resistors, use 4 of 15ohm, 5 watt resistors in parallel for each pair of injectors, should be about 1.2 amps, which is fine. If you use the flyback board, don't worry about the resistors."
  2. My budy is getting his z running and he has a l28et with megasquirt and is using the stock injectors. He has everything for it to run but the flyback board or resistor pack for the stock low impedance injectors. Can he run with out it but keep driving low like 30 mins or less. Or is it very bad to run with out resistors. finally he wants this car running tommorrow, can we make a "radio shack" resistor pack. any info would help thanks
  3. I live only about 20 mins form LACR and i would like to maybe meet you guys there. I will not be bringing my Z because it is still not tuned hopefully in a few weeks. I i have not seen a turbo z at LACR yet. I would just like to know if you are going or not and at about what time.

  5. OK to start with 10.5 afr on boost is very safe. there is no way you will detonate. It is also very rich. If you leaned your fuel curve out more, or added timing or if you want more boost, it would give you more power. A turbo motor likes to run at about 11.5 to 12 Afr. those numbers will keep your motor very safe. if you want to run 12 to 12.5 afr that will work also but it is a little and i mean a little less safe.
  6. start by restarting your computer. then first thing open your megatune or what ever megasquirt tuning software you use. then in that same software go file open the map that you downloaded. if that does not work, do the ctrl+alt+del and make sure only one program is open. if it still says more than one is open re-install the program and try again
  7. you have to open the megasquirt program first. then do file open on teh map that you downloaded

Ok i have a 1973 240z running megasquirt and spark extra an i have 450cc DSM blue top injectors that are low impedence(sp) and i cant seem to find the injector settings for them, this is what i found i and i want to know if it is any where near what they should be, becuase my car does not like to idle right, way too rich Injector Characteristics Injector Opening time(ms) 1.0 Battery Volt(ms/v) 0.20 PWM current limit % 100 PWM Time threshold (ms) 25.5 Required fuel 6.9
  9. thanks for the help guy and i am using a wideband o2 sensor. i had some settings off about my injectors. i have some DSM 450cc blue top injectors i will post my constants later and hopefully u guys can tell me if a am way off lol
  10. my LOVES to run at 10.6 afr at idle, off idle at max power it is fine for right now between 11.5 and 12.0. i have changed the fuel on the VE table down to 1 at all the idle settings and it does not help. is this caused b/c i am running 450cc injectors. i have tryed my fuel presser from 15 all the was to 40 and it does not matter. i have a stock l28et engine just changed the ecu, to mega squirt and spark extra. any help would be nice. also does any one have the same injectors as i do and are using megasquirt and spark extra. because most of the maps i find are not for extra code.
  11. if u want a performance hei unit i would try ebay, but to me it doesnt sound like that is your problem, your tps may not be reacting fast enough like u thought, by the way what tps are u using
  12. welcome to the z world, i have done the same swap u did and i didnt have spark for like one month, ok one thing u need to check is the pulse signal coming from the ecu to the coil ignitor. when i wired mine up first time i blew the ignitor and that was my problem for the get go. the ignitor is the little box next to the coil that has 2 wires going to it and then some go to the coil. u need an analog voltage meter,(just a cheap 10 buck one from the hardware store) a ditgital one will not pick up the puse. if u need anymore help, b/c i know i dont spell very good and sometimes hard to understand, email me at richardszparts@yahoo.com

  14. i just bought my megasquirt and spark extra from ra motorsports and do i really need to hook up an o2 sensor, i dont care about gas milage so do i need it or is it just like tha o2 sensor on the 280zx where it does nothing
  15. do you know what your vacuum is at idle, it should be very close to 20 inch, check the egr and see if it is sucking any air in, sounds to me like you have a vacuum leak
  16. i want to put either a toyota supra motor mkIII motor in my 240z and i dont know if i should use the 7mgte or the 7mge. the 7mgte is the turbo motor and has coil packs the 7mge doesnt have coil packs and is n/a. no mater what motor i pick i will turbo it, but i want to run megasquirt and spark to control it so should i go wit the easyer no coil packs or the harder coil pack motor to power my 240z
  17. i really want to chage my motor in my 240z. right now i have a l28et and its not cuting it. i want to put on of those mkIII suora motors in it they are like 600$ very cheap. are there any problems with the motor being to big or some thing like that.
  18. i am trying to do a very cheap megasquirt ecu swap for my car. right now i have a 240z with a 280zx turbo engine and stock ecu and it workes about 10% of the time and i am getting very mad at the car, so i want to put megasquirt on it and need to know where can i get the gm sensors i need. what gm cars come with the sensors that work with megasquirt, i am going to a junk yard to get them so i wil get a few to make sure they work but i need to know what cars they came of with, Coolant Temp Sensor, Intake Air Temp Sensor, do i need any others
  19. how high of rpm are u talking about, b/c the stock redline for the rb25det is 7k or 8k, and the rb26dett is like 9k, how high do u wanna rev too?

  21. i found a place that is selling a rb25det motor with 5 speed trans and full ecu and wires ect for 2.5k also the motor has 40,000km on it and comes with a 30 day warranty, is that a good price or should i keep looking, shipping ot me would be about 300 bucks also

  23. i will hopefully be putting my rb25det into my 240z soon and want to know where u guys got your rb20 oil pan and oil pick up or something like that. did u just go to the nissan dealer and ask then for the parts, alota $$$$$, or found one on ebay, or did u guys make your own
  24. i am going to be putting an rb25det into my 240z and will be first installing it with the stock ecu then will be upgrading to some other aftemarket ecu. what do u guys suggest, piggy back systems or a sland alone like megasquirt
