I gave him 6 weeks and then he sent the wrong part. I've bought and sold a lot of parts so I understand that ♥♥♥♥ happens which is why I didn't badmouth the guy. But I wouldn't buy parts from him again and I'm not offering any apology.

Ouch...I only lost 15 bux. It's kinda funny how that went. A couple of weeks after I paid I sent him a PM asking if he had shipped my part. He sent me a PM that he didn't know I'd paypaled the money. I don't know how everyone else has their accounts set up but when somebody sends me a paypment via Paypal I get an email from Paypal saying "You've got money!"

This guy lives 10 minutes from me according to either of those addresses listed. I bought a $5 "NOS" part from him that I later found out was available at nissanparts.cc for 60 cents or a dollar at the local dealer. That was my bad for not doing my research to find the part number. He did charge me $4 shipping for the part which was mailed in an envelope with a stamp. Not exactly illegal or immoral but something that made me decide to avoid buying anything from him in the future. Boxing up a part and driving to a UPS or FEDEX store or standing in the line at the post office deserves some compensation. Addressing an envelope could too but 1000% markup is a little too much. Bottom line is that he is providing a service and if people are willing to pay his price then more power to him. I doubt that he gets much repeat business though. I miss my z31.com parts fiche where I could look up the danged part number and shop around

Could you elaborate on that please. I bought a 280zx distributor bracket from him around the 15th of Dec and I'm still waiting on it. If he's having some kind of health problem or such I can understand but if he just isn't going to send the part that's something else.

I'm trying to get in touch with him. Tried email and PM and I haven't had any luck. Maybe some of you Kentucky guys know if he's ok.

If the weather there doesn't call for salting the roads in the winter then aluminized will be fine. 2.5" is ok but 3" would give you some headroom. You don't need the MSA kit if you mean the "performance air induction". A generic K&N cone filter...re-0810 for example and a 6" length of 3" diameter aluminum or stainless pipe would probably be half the cost of the MSA thing.

No I'm not telling you not to modify your car. Modification is what this board is about. What I'm telling you is to be careful with your modifications. Some things you just can't do until you have other modifications. If you raise the boost up past the point of what the stock fuel system is capable of then you have an air/fuel ratio problem. Too much air, not enough fuel. That's called running lean. That can be a very bad thing A BOV really isn't going to do any serious damage to your car but every time your BOV vents your motor is going to run very rich for an instant. Probably the worst that could happen is your catalyst won't last as long as it would normally. I think most people (nobody on this board of course ) want a BOV for the sound rather than to prevent compressor surge and whatnot. A recirc valve puts the air back into the intake. Much better for a car w/ a MAF sensor. I don't think you really need one right now but it's your car and you should do what you want. You definitely do not need an external wg though. And if you install a better exhaust then turning the boost up to 10 or 12psi is most likely not going to cause any harm.

You can. I don't see much point. A recirc valve would be much better in all respects. I've never seen your car but if your car is bonestock as you say it is then you have a stock wg. It's been a long time since I had a stock turbo but IIRC the wg is set to somewhere between 6 and 7psi. And your POV or emergency relief valve I think it's called, will vent at about 8.5psi. I'd really rather not advise you on safe maximum boost level for a stock z31. I ran 10 to 12psi for several years w/ my 85t. Spiked to 17psi once or twice accidentally with no apparent ill effects. Others have seriously damaged their motors at lower boost levels. I believe the z31 t3 is way past it's useful limit at around 15psi. And w/o an intercooler and more fuel to match the higher boost...very risky to the health of your motor.

Ok it doesn't have to be from a 1978 Datsun 280z but that should work and it's a pretty damned descriptive title right? Any voltmeter that fits in the 240z dash in place of the ammeter will be fine. I'm replacing the stock 240z externally regulated alternator with an s130 alternator and I'm pretty sure I'm going to need a voltmeter rather than an ammeter.

The z31 did not come equipped with a BOV. Several reasons for that, the primary reason being the MAF sensor I suspect. I've seen a lot of really impressive modified s30's since I bought an s30 but there is a guy named Scott who has a vg30et in his car, or used to at least. I saw it long time ago. Being that I was a z31 owner at the time I first saw it, I suppose it first caught my attention because of the vg30et but it was a great looking car too. I guess that was my favorite. I used to have some pics of his car on my HD but lost them in a crash so I can't post a pic.

Yeah...try a $50 z31 bar from zilvia.net or courtesy.com and see if they work out. Just kidding...I thought you meant 240sx. A 280zx might be very close.
