  1. I can use one that doesn't have the electric defog on it as well I just have to have one to get her inspected so I can purchase a tag and register her.
  2. Well after searching high and low in the land of rust and scale, I finally found a z car that hasn't been sleeping with the whales. Well here she is my 2nd z the first is still a work in progress 1976 280z that I am doing a full restoration on. This is my new pride and joy, I found a 1 owner 1983 280zx with just one spot of surface rust on the front window above the trim, and the drivers side mirror needs to be replaced. She was a garage kept z for all her life and has 248,524 on the body and 110,000 on a replacement motor that was put in about 7,000 miles ago. The only problem I found so far after driving her 2 hours back home last night was a slightly corroded fusible link, and a couple of injector harness plugs that caused a slight miss. I am replacing all of the injector plug connectors today and will register her on Monday.
  3. Well since I seem to be back in search of parts for a second z car, I luckily only find myself in need of a drivers side electric heated mirror for a 1 owner 83 280zx I just aquired for $2,000. I finally ran into some good luck on finding a nice Datsun in N.C. without the owner wanting $7,000.00 to $9,000.00, or driving 2 hours each way to find a car that looks as if it were stored with the Titanic for a few years. So I am hoping that someone can help me with a drivers side mirror preferably white but any color will be fine. Thanks in advance, Curt.
  4. Thanks to all who replied I found a complete car locally and bought it for a few parts including the su's. I have several parts I am not going to use so pm me with needs. All parts will be very reasonably priced seeing as how I got such a great deal on the 240. Thanks, Curt.
  5. I am looking for a front and rear bumper for a 240 or 260 and I also have alot of 240 parts that I am not going to use on my 280 build. I bought a complete 71 240 for the su's,steering wheel, front fiberglass valance and motor so let me know what you need and the prices are dirt cheap.I got a great deal on the 240 so I want to pass the parts on to those who need them.
  6. Thanks to all who have replied, I bought a set from Sparks280zt. I drove up and picked them up today. Thanks Matt, the doors are just as you described them.

  15. First of all Merry Christmas to all the Hybrid Z community, secondly for anyone near the Charlote N.C. area there is a 79 280zx car at pullapart in Charlotte. The tranny and flywheel are gone but it still has the 3.90 r200 diff.,master cylinder-brake booster and rear disc hangers,I got the 240 mm flywheel, tranny was allready gone. Hope this helps someone in need of cheap parts.
  16. I am posting this to see if there is anyone on HBZ that is currently using Megasquirt on their N/A l28 in or near the Charlotte N.C. area. I am contemplating goig with MSnS for my build and just wanted to see if there was anyone else local to me using this ems system. Thanks in advance for any replies.
  17. Just a little update,no camera so no pics. I bought a set of 77 model seats that are in excellent shape,no tears and very little wear. I got all the parts from pull a part to do my Edis setup,I will just hang on to my rebuilt dizzy for now. Bought a used Dell p3 laptop for the MSnS ,another change in the build, but why not take full advantage of all the technology that this website has to offer. HybridZ is by far the best forum that I have ever had the privelege to interact with and learn from. There is a ton of knowledge and very knowledgable individuals on this site if you take the time to search and ask the right questions and provide the right answers to the question that are asked of you.
  18. Sorry for the pass. side, drivers side confusion but the oil filter boss and the section at the right hand top of the block was what I noticed in my original posts ,I cant see my n42 as well as the f54 the n42 is still in the car. I will take some pictures of the raised section on the right hand side of the block of my 2 engines, curious to see how many have this, and if it is only on blocks that are stateside.I have seen 3 n42 blocks so far with the raised section as I described and 2 f54. It is on the right side of the block at the top and to the left of the two bolt holes that hold the hoses that go to the heater core.
  19. No, newer cars dont to me either Tony, I have owned several older cars,a 70 fastback Mustang was my second car in 1985,then a 73 vega gt,a 73 oldsmobile omega,me and my father had a total of 6 mustangs at once in 1986. 2 69 Mach 1's and three 70 fastbacks, and a 66 coupe .He currently is restoring a 77 corvette and me the 76 280z ,the older cars just have a totally different feel to them the moment you sit down in the drivers seat, the body contours and design just have something to them that is lost in most newer cars .
  20. My f54 has a hole at all 4 points.
  21. And the oil filter boss on the n42 is round, where the f54 is in the shape of a cross around the outside of the casting.
  22. And for the record on my 76 n42 block I can see the number fairly easy with the stock efi and ex. manifold while viewing from the top,the f54 is on an engine stand so it is really accessible.
  23. On the right side at the top pf the n42 block there is a raised section with one line in it from top to bottom that lines up between #5 and #6 cylinder and on the f54 there is a second one that lines up in the center of #5 cylinder.
  24. My n42 and my f54 block have it embossed on the left side bottom of the block to the right of the engine mount .
