  1. I don't see how the LY head could get mixed up in this conversation (other than bieng z unobtanium) since it is a two valve and sohc head.

     

    Brain Trust at work there, that is why they are saying the LY is a DOHC...

    What broke on the T-5? JeffP pumped 450 through his with it screaming in protest, but nothing outright broke. I would suspect latent or marginal tranny to begin with if it's a major failure.

     

     

    thanks for clearing that up for me guys, i never realized that the LY head was just a SOHC :)

  2. here's the taylor battery box. one of the studs goes through the framerail. the neg cable goes through a grommet in the floor and grounds to the same framerail.

    here's the back of the cutoff switch. from the switch it runs through the car with a 2 gauge wire through the firewall to a terminal block

    and here's the terminal block. has to spots for 0-2 gauge (one in, one out) and 4 for 6-8 gauge (for accessories). it's not all wired yet. oh, and see that rusty stuff? from a leaky water pump. that S#it does NOT want to go away!

  3. i know this is not quite what you're looking for, but here's an idea.

     

    if you want an exotic sounds, why not just use a VQ35de out of like a maxima and do a custom exhaust? has a FWD tranny that can easily be made to work for a RR car, quite a bit lighter than a V12, and still sounds nice and throaty (ie 350Z & g35). sure it's no V12, but i think it will be powerful enough to propel that there fiero, and it will be lighter for better balance.
