  1. Tried the search, just want to know how much I can take off of a N47 head without worrying about shimming? I was thinking no more than .010. Also, what is the color of the stock engine block? Is there a commercially available spray? Last, What is your ideas on Cam spray bars, good or not required? Thanks

  4. I need to get the repair panel that goes over the rear hatch latch. You know the one that MSA sells for $149. It is the one that was remade for the Nissan restored Z's. Just wondering if anyone else sells it for less, VB or someone? Thanks.

  7. tried to search but cannot find a definite answer. Are the turbo intakes larger in the runners or not? From what I can see from some of the pics, the plenums look bigger, is this true? Thanks
  8. what about the Ford Ranger roller cams? I used one in my turbo coupe, overhead cam similar to the L28. Just and idea.
  9. I like them better too, more of a tunability factor with them. I have a Rebic III that I want to use on my project. Anyone else use them?
  10. with all of the talk of upgraded injectors, would I get the same effect with the use of a Rebic and three extra injectors? We used these on Okinawa all of the time and really improved the performance, but I don't hear of it used in the states much. What do you all think?
  11. Do the floor pan kits from a 240z also fit a 280z? I have a set of the plain flat 240 pans, but need them in my 280. Are the dimensions the same, they seem to fit correct.

  13. I know that one doesn't fit a 280 front, but am wondering if there is any other companies or other vehicles, such as 69-70 Mustangs, with that type of chin spoiler that fits a 280. I really like that look for the Z's, but I just can't go out and spend money on different ones to try.
  14. I didn't notice the thread title with Okinawa in it and I saw the vids and was like I know that strip! Some friends and I changed a clutch in his Toyota after he fried it racing there. We did along the trees on much the same day as these vids. God I miss that island!
  15. I always thought the problem with first start up is moving parts with no oil on them. If this is so, then simply interupting the spark to turn the engine over is just the same thing. Personally I would want the engine to start as soon as possible to get the oil pump spinning faster and get more oil moving through the system. A true pre oiler would work best by moving oil through the galleys without spinning the engine over.

  17. I tried a search on this, but what year did the 2400 OHC cover come on. Usally I see the ones that say Nissan OHC but not 2400. Are they far and few between? Thanks
  18. are the 280z floor pans the same as a 240z? I ask because I have a set from a 240z that I want to use to replace the floors on my 75 280. I remember somewhere that sold two different sets. Thanks.
  19. When I was in Japan a friend of mine had a Skyline with an L28 turbo that had a triple plate clutch. This thing grabbed like crazy, could bark the tires in 5th gear no less, I would love to have one again, but I can't find any over here in the states. Does anyone out there know of any for sale? Thanks
  20. what is the weight difference between the two? can the 280 be lightened safely without gutting the interior.
  21. I found an 83 zx auto tranny, is this an r200 or r180, I've seen them listed as both. What ratio is this, I looking for at least the 3.90 r200. Thanks

  23. OK, I have a 75 280z that has 70 SU's on it and am thinking of going back to FI for a turbo conversion, question is I am not sure how much was changed for the carbs? Would the ECU still be there, where is it located, what about the fuel pump, how can I tell if the electric is still there? I have a mechanical pump for the carbs now. Would it just be easier to get an electromotive or an accell dfi for it? Thanks I did do some searching but couldn't answer all my questions
  24. I tried a search but nothing, has anyone tried a true dual setup with the MSA split header and twice pipes all the way back with two mufflers? I saw the pics of the Japanese 240 with the Q45 v-8 and duals, and it looks tough. Most straight sixes sound pretty good with duals, just have to get the right muffler. Thanks
