  1. Tried to search but couldn't find, anyone have a link to it? Thanks
  2. So with more fuel from the SU's, it should hold down the pinging? That is till I get a decent cam in her anyway.
  3. I read on that SU page about the springs too, Do these allow the piston to move up quicker? I thought the oil controlled the rate of rise? Also, the springs are color coded right? What you are saying is snap the throttle open with the needle in, right? Just use the straw as a mark for 2mm increments.
  4. Guess I'll pull the shifter from the driver to check them. Just wanted to know if there was an easy way to tell before taking apart stuff. Thanks
  5. Would the SM or Rebello needles take care of the richer mixture better than adjusting the carb? I was looking at these anyway.
  6. Great, so I'll definately make sure I get at least 10cfm. The single stages I see at lowes and sears put out just over that for only around $500, any benefits to going dual stage at this point?
  7. I have two extra trannys in the garage, neither have shifters so I can't just go through the gears. I know one is a late model 81-83 non T-5 5speed, the other I was told is an early 5speed. I want to use the early one as it has better 1st and 2nd gears, BUT, how can I tell if it is a 5 speed or just a 4 by looking at it? Are there any differences in the 4 compared to an early 5 on the outside? Thanks
  8. I know I wouldn't regret the 80 gal. dual stage, but at twice the cost, ouch! I do have 220v, so I know I at least have to get one of those.
  9. just put my N47 on my F54 flattop motor but still have the stock cam in there. I am using 70 SU's also, will the stock L28 cam be fine in there, I heard but could not find in the search that the stock cam is close to it's limits with more compression. Thanks
  10. I have the 4.0 in my 2000 ranger and yes the torque is impressive. There are many mods you can do to this motor fairly cheap: headers, cams, ported heads. Checkout this website for more info http://www.therangerstation.com/tech_library/4_0_Page.html I think this is a cool idea, go for it!
  11. OK, in the market for a new compressor, what do you think? I was looking at the two stage 80 gal., you think this is overkill for the garage. I will be using air tools and painting, soon maybe a parts blaster. The 60 gal. single stages are almost half of the price though. What do you all think? Thanks
  12. Was looking at the custom ground needles for my F54, N47 combo and was wondering about some feedback on these from actual users? I was first going to use some SM needles but heard about the flat spots and too rich conditions, how are the Rebello's working out for you guys using them? Thanks
  13. I was actually looking to use the temp guages. Wasn't sure if one or the other is more accurate. The mechanical temp guages are more expensive than the electric ones. I suppose the electric ones would be easier to run due to smaller wires. Thanks about the avatar, sometimes I just gaze and th.....
  14. Was looking at some Autometer temp guages, I really like the full sweep, but they are mechanical as oppsed to the electrical which are 90*. Are the mechanical just as accurate as the electrical, and do they justify the extra cost for them? thanks
  15. I ordered a Victor Reinz gasket for my F54 flat top and N47 head, but, they had four different numbers listed! Not sure of the year of the block either, the numbers they had were for 70-74, 75-80, 80-2/81, 3/81-83. What were the differences in the years to require these different numbers? Isn't the HKS steel for all years? What one should I be getting for my setup? Thanks
  16. So, I can bolt any oil cooler to this flange on the block? If so, I will just get one from the local shop, but if not, do I need the stock turbo setup? This is kind of confusing me. Thanks for the replies though, I'm learning!
  17. Good picture, I get the jist of it, is yours the oil cooler or just a plate? Does anyone have a pic of the turbo oil cooler adapter?
  18. did the Turbos come with an oil cooler? If so, anyone have the adapter plate for sale?
  19. I am using this F54 block for my driver, but this looks different with the 4 bolt holes around the filter than the rest of my L28's. Does the oil filter just spin on like the others? Thanks
  20. I have a N47 I want to use on an F54 flat top motor, but one of the liners is slightly loose. I can wiggle it by hand, it doesn't come out, just loose. Is this a problem or not really? Can it be repaired at home? Thanks
  21. From what I remember about this was the L28E cam was an improvement over the L20ET cam. I had an L20ET in my old Skyline and swapped the L28E cam into it. Not sure if it really made more power, but I was told it had better specs for more power.
  22. Lowes has the Lincoln 175 pro for only $594.00. Anyone find it elsewhere for less?
  23. an additional injector controller called a "Scelta"? I have one I used in Japan from a few years ago, but cannot find any info on it on the web. It worked great, just want some more info on it. Thanks.
  24. Do you guys reuse head bolts or are these supposed to be one time use, like so many of today's products?
  25. I want to paint a design on the front of the IC, but am wondering how much this would affect cooling. It would not cover the whole IC just some areas. Thanks
