  1. If I was going to nail down the issue, I would take the head off and remove the caps from the crank and take the pistons out. Check to make sure the crank can spin freely with no issues. While there are no pistons in the engine I would check for roundness in ALL cylinder bores. Also check your connecting rods for straightness. Are you using ARP bolts on the rods? If all is good there then reassemble and really watch your tq values. If over tq'd the crank will be hard to spin. Once you are have it back together, give the crank a few spins - check to make sure you are not hitting the casting on the inside of the block. Was there any metal or shiny oil when you just pulled it apart?

  2. I was thinking the same, either the engine was assembled too tight or if all specs are correct meaning mechanical parts - check the block for true roundness. Also I remember once reading their were different bearings needed for the V07 crank weather it comes from a auto or 5 speed, cross check that. Be sure to use lots of assembly lube. How easy is the setup to spin if you put a pulley and bolt in? I assumes you are just turning the crank on the engine stand by hand.

  3. That sucks, hopefully he will contact you of he ever changes his mind. You should check in with him every six months.

You are right, it took 6 years for me to buy mine. 1 tuff z asked me one day if I called the PO of my Fairlady and I had not talked to him in about 1.5 yrs after he did the same thing to me - change his mind 2 days before a 9 hour road trip to pick it up. I called him and we chatted and towards the end of the 40 min conversation I asked, "How's my car doing?"

It was picked up 10 days later!  David we will find you one for sure...................

  4. Pete, if you get a set cover with speaker hole contact me so we can talk. Would love another set ready to go.

Rear plastic trim I assume you are talking about. I believe they are all the same expect for the 77-78 quarter window and dog trim part. I will double check.

  5. Not much done this year but as Fall starts I am getting my butt back in gear!

So early in the summer, I attempted to strip the engine bay myself to refresh the old paint and smooth out some of the areas. I also wanted to add the top half of the pdk bar I was able to pick up via Ebay.

which will allow me to clean up the bay and have known working Wilwood products to match the AZ Wilwood setup I have to go on the car. I am either going to use SS brake lines I have or spray/cover the existing lines.

Also need to order the LS2 started needed and rockers so I can finish cleaning the engine and button that up. Some other parts cleaned up, trust me it is red and not pink lol
