  1. I'm hoping to have them Rollin out of my garage and into your Z's here in the next couple weeks. Still sourcing everything locally and that is where I'm stuck at right now. As of right now I am planning on charging $400 so best bet is to just plan on that price. I will definitely keep everyone updated on the status and have pics up soon enough.
  2. Good news for you guys, I will be making the 2jz motor mounts now. Once I bang a few out they should start flowing so we can have more of a JZ following in the Datsun community
  3. OK, my trip was canceled so I will continue progress on the mounts. Going to pick up some tubing today which is that last thing I need to get a couple made up. I will hopefully get a chance to get those done this weekend. If not I will keep you all posted.
  4. Right now I don't have any details, still getting everything set up. I am thinking $400 but the price may go down if other costs are cheaper than expected. I definitely plan on making it a quality part.
  5. Well progress is yet again on hold, I will be out of the country for a few months. I do however have the motor mounts for the 1/2jz motors. I bought the plans from john Coffey and plan on making them available again. I would definitely like to see more 1 or 2jz Z's around.
  6. OK everyone, I made a deal with john owner of what we knew as beta motorsports. I have bought the plans for his motor mounts and plan on making them for resale. I will begin taking pre orders soon. There is one problem that a lot of you will probably not like, I am leaving on a business trip for at least 2 months so I won't be able to start production until I return. But when I do come back I will start making a bunch of them so we can have more Z's with JZ's!!!
  7. Got some work done on the Z recently. Started my wire tuck in the engine bay and decided that wiring is F'd up so I'm replacing the wiring with an EZ wire harness. Shows up Friday and hopefully shouldn't take too long to install. Also going to repair the dash while its out. After that is done its back to wire tuck and engine bay clean/paint for the new motor I'll get some more pics for you guys this weekend.
  8. Looking for turbo axels stamped burfield or something close to that. Need them for my R200 clsd swap. Let me know what you have. Thanks, Ben
  9. nice, I like it! im almost done with my 1JZ VVTi build also. Maybe a few months away Cant wait to see this one done also!
  10. I was wondering if anyone had this style of motor mount, which i believe was beta motorsports. If you do i would love some measurements so i can make my own. I figure since they are not in business anymore that it is not a big deal to go this route, what do you guys think? I found a fabrication guy at work and he said he can make it but he would like the measurements so i told him i would see if anyone had them or could take them off their current car. Also if i cant get anyone to do that and somone else on here made some custom ones and would be wiling to share their measurements im sure we could figure something out. Look forward to hearing from you guys. Thanks, Ben
  11. Since i cant find an affordable kit and im a little strapped for cash these days. When i move in to a house next month im going to try and get someone who knows what they are doing to help me fab something up. If i can get this done does anyone want me to make some copies of what i have? I am more than willing to make a bunch of extras and sell them to you guys to help move your projects along. Let me know.
  12. well yeah, if i had a detailed diagram of the motor mounts i could make my own as well. Shit i would most definitely make a bunch of copies and sell them to you guys also. Maybe someone on here who has already made their own mounts might still have their breakdown of measurments and would be willing to sell said information. Or maybe the guy who got the $1500 ebay kit would be willing to take a bunch of measurments for us so we can duplicate it.
  13. Yes a lot of progress! You are correct, i have promised pictures and have yet to deliver........ First off here is my car This is kind of an old pic, i have an airdam now, rear bumper is gone, unfortunately the wheels are still around. Hopefully not for long though. Now for the rest of the goodies Fuel cell Sexy wire harness Intercooler, piping, oil cooler and clutch/ flywheel kit. My motor as i picked it up from the machine shop, looking all clean. Old dirty one in the background. and now this is how it sits until i find a few more odds and ends.... So i have made some good progress, still have a ways to go though. As for the motor mounts i have thought of taking it to a local shop but here in Tucson AZ there are not may options im willing to go with. Hopefully i can talk someone into making some mounts for me before too long so i can make some more headway on this beast! Also i am aware that i need to weld the new motor mounts to the frame rails of my z, that i have no problem with doing, i just dont feel comfortable making a load bearing piece. Anyways, thats an update, hope you guys like what you see.
  14. So i have just about everything i need, only missing motor mounts. Is there anyone on here that would be willing to make some for me? I am ready to get this project on the road again! Let me know guys. Thanks Ben
  15. if you are interested and want a pic pm me your phone number and i will text you a pic.
  16. I know this is the wrong section for selling things but there isn't much of a market for 1jz parts on this forum so i figured i would go right to the best section. As described in the title i have a 1jz lightweight flywheel, still in packaging. I am going with a z32 trans and have to use a different flywheel, my loss your gain. It is the lightweight flywheel from driftmotion.com, they sell it for $360 + shipping, i will sell it for $340 shipped. Let me know, its a great upgrade for your monster Z project.
  17. Just picked up the motor today from the machine shop, looks great!! Saturday i am going to put the intake and exhaust on. I cant wait, going to be amazing. The only thing hanging me up right now is that fact that i need a engine mount. I dont trust my own skills to make it myself and i cant spend 1500 for the Ebay kit. Soo freaking close i cant stand it..... I will try and get some pics uploaded for you guys on my build post.
  18. I am looking to get some made for my 1JZ swap also. Its pretty much the last thing i need to get done to finish my project. Please let me know if you are able to make a set for me also and when you will be making them. If you could message me with your number so i can call and get it all figured out that would be great. Thanks, Ben
  19. yeah im sure, but I get back home next week and will have pics up soon. I will definitely post pics of the motor mounts as well as the rest of the build I cant freaking wait! Hopefully I will have it running by the end of December.
  20. Im really not concerned, I was just curious.
  21. Trust me it adds up really fast! Im in the middle of my swap and finding that im quickly running out of money to fund it. Its also not the swap that costs that much, its the supporting mods that get expensive. You cant throw a motor that has more than double the power and expect the car not to tear its self apart. So yes you are correct, you can do the swap for around or under 7k but it gets expensive when you do it right (brakes, tires, axels, diff, suspension, and also a colostomy bag for the first time you drive it!! lol)
  22. I haven't put the motor in yet. Im deployed to Afghanistan right now but when I get home in a few weeks I will have mostly everything to get it put it in. All of your questions are covered in pretty much every build post in the Toyota forum. Just spend a few days reading over and looking at pictures of people's builds. It should answer all your questions. As for the wire harness I sent mine to Tweaked performance and they are making me a custom brand new harness specific to my build. I will have a ton more pictures and videos up in the next month when I get back to work on mine. Good luck
  23. Driftmotion.com has a ton of helpful things you can buy. Also if you plan on moving away from the stock ECU there are plenty of standalone options. I just purchased a MS3 Pro. I will let you know how well it runs the motor once I get it put together. Other than that the search function works really good and should be able to answer 99.9% of your questions.
  24. Yes, I talked to some of my more inventive friends and we are going to make one of our own. Since im using the Z32 trans im not worried about a trans mount. Since I have their help im not worried about getting It all mounted up. Also thanks for responding, was starting to wonder if posting anything in here was a waste of time or not. Thanks, Ben
