Have you thought about running a hydro parking/rear brake? You could put the line locker in after it. I would run a rear bumper if I were you. Too many dumb drivers and parkers in Seattle to be worth risking it...

I want paint pictures NOW!!! j/k How long until you get to see her? I might be rolling down to PNP again on Saturday and could drop the Konigs off if you want. They'll look funny until you get your car lowered though. Really you could probably run 195/55R14s on your current wheels and they's look sweet. Either that or buy some Bart's Steelies from Summit like I did.

Holy crap. Doin' work man. Holla if you need a hand with anything after next week (I have finals until the 16th). IMO, you should keep the rocker bars if you're running fixed back seats. If you opt to ditch them you should figure out how to pad the mounts.

I'll be watching this build. It's always fun to see a local guy working on a Z. That's pretty nice for an early one. Let me know if you need a hand with anything or if you have any questions.

FWIW, I put the bondo down over my glass and it worked. Granted I used a very small amount but the resin is a hard surface so feathering it isn't that bad. It just takes a lot of time and patience (probably 10+ hours of: fill, primer, cross-sand way down, repeat). They best tip I can give other than patience is to topcoat the whole thing in some kind of texture so you don't notice the small imperfections as easily.

Cloth, and I probably could have laid it down thicker but I didn't want a plastic dash. As it turns out, it wouldn't have fit if I'd made it more rigid.

I cut the cracks out of my dash, filled them with expanding foam, glassed over portions of the top, smoothed it all with bondo, and topcoated it with SEM interior paint. It looks great and is pretty durable (if you remind me I might be able to find pix). The only problem was that I had the dash out of the car for so long that it relaxed it's shape a little. When I put it back in, it was too wide for the car and squeezing it to match the mounting holes made the new top surface warp a little bit around the cracks. Where it was totally smooth when I finished working on it, there are now a few small waves/ridges. I would recommend doing this work with the dash in a jig or in the car with the windshield removed so it fits correctly. Looking good so far though.

I'd add Firepower by Thermadyne. While a little known sub-brand,it's part of the same company that makes Tweco and Victor. My Firepower 130 came with a Tweco torch and Victor regulator. Great little MIG. Also, to echo what everyone else said make sure you get set up with gas is you're planning on doing any serious work. Flux-core is fine for learning but it's just too messy for much else.

You know, I'd be okay with a broken bolt. She's not out here yet, partly because wipers are kind of necessary in these parts. I'll let you know when she makes it. As far as weather stripping is concerned, I grabbed some off an early 90's Trans AM for $5 a door at Lynnwood P&P. I had to cut it to make the corner fit but the seal is really nice. $10 in seals + $10 in silicon caulk and the doors are great. I was planning on pulling my spindle pins but I called the guy from U.P. Garage (formerly "Fairlady Z") and he said he has "lots of experience NOT removing them." Z Sport in Everett wanted quite a bit when I called them so I figured I'd just leave them in. Just my $.02

Skip repairing the wipers and give me the transmission arms

I see them at meets all the time but they're from BC. I always thought it would be cool to have an R32 but now I'm thinking Stagea + R34 front clip (once you've owned a wagon it's hard to live without one). Progress is looking good BTW. Can't wait to see it all painted.
