That's a 280z floor pan and there's no indication it's been transplanted. That and the 280z radiator core support indicates this car has had the 240z VIN numbers transferred onto a 280z chassis. If so, this car is illegal in every state in the country.

Agreed with the above two comments. That nut is cross threaded and will loosen again.

Given the large volume of email and phone scams we are subject to it takes perseverance for someone outside the US. Generally a trip over here helps significantly. And many US sellers don't want to sell overseas. The perceived hassle factor is high.
Conversely, I've had many UK companies refuse to sell to me in the US. I called on friends in the UK to purchase locally and forward to me.

I think you've got it.

Make a mandrel in the shape of the square port out of steel (cut, file, sand, etc.). Heat the end of the stainless round tube to about 1,000F. Put some high temp grease on the mandrel and pound the mandrel into the round tube to shape it.

Think about which direction the crank is spinning and that should give you an idea about which side of the pan gets the most oil thrown on it. Drill the three holes close to that side of the pan in the tray.

Drill the hole on the side of the pan where the oil gets thrown off the crank. The right side of the windage tray. But I'm with Tim. You might have a clogged oil cooler.

Suspension setups for grip and drift are more similar the most folks think. And it takes some balls to put a car sideways at over 100mph.

The AZC oil pan does have a drain back issue. I drill three 3/4" holes on the windage side of the tray.
Call Don Oldenberg at DP Racing and order one of his competition oil pans.
And yes, you might have thermostat and/or oil cooler could have issues. Test the thermostat in a pot of boiling water with a meat thermometer. Send the oil cooler out to be sonically cleaned and tested.

You can run the stock hinges. Stan reinforces the inner frame where the hinge attaches to the hatch. You have to drill the holes yourself and then use a nut and bolt to clamp the reinforced part. You will probably have to drill two larger holes on the window side of the inner frame to get the nut on the bolt and a socket on the nut. You can plug that later with a small rubber plug.
Its a pain in the ass to do this and get the hatch properly aligned. Assume about 6 hours of careful work.

Or you can run a 3" exhaust pipe into the cabin and it will be really loud.
-
Really? You've read through this whole thread and can't figure out what shocks to put on your 280z strut tubes?

6 zombies through the hood.

Looks about right.

You need to drill the hole large enough so that the metal plate in the insulator rests on the top shoulder of the shock shaft. The spring perch should rest on the bearing (in the front) and the plastic spacer (in the rear). Spring loads should NOT go through the shock.
-
Mileage doesn't matter much on these cars when it comes to value. Condition is everything. Fix the sunroof and the rust first and then decide where you want to go with the car.

Well, maybe I'm not standing corrected. This article from Motor helps explain what our LM1 says when we see a misfire. Next time we have an engine on the stand I'll run a test.
-
Go to sleep, you're overthinking it. Drill out the hole in the insulator and make sure the upper spring perch rests on the bearing (or plastic spacer in the rear) in insulator not the shock shaft.
-
I stand corrected regarding what O2 sensors read. I guess we have to check our LM1 cuz something's wrong.
-
Not normal.

Whenever you have a misfire the air/fuel ratios go rich on all measuring devices (Lambda sensor, AFM sniffer, etc.) The fuel in the misfiring cylinder is not burned. You have to cure any misfire before tuning via any air/fuel mixture measuring tool.
One tip, if you're data logging you can look at AF just before the misfire occurs to help diagnose the problem.

The differences in spoilers and wings between drag and road racing has more to do with the rules for each sanctioning body then anything else.
