Brake clearance is exceptional. I will be going to my college house this weekend and will measure the wheels in detail, maybe even cad them out. In any case, I don't think you will have an option. It is funny you mention that these would sell like hotcakes on a 240sx forum. I tried diligently to get interest from 240sx owners... I was told that they were cheap and would break since they are Rotas. Since then I do not deal with 240sx owners.

Unfortunately I am away from the sample wheels right now and some people were hoping to know if the AZC 13" brake kit will fit inside the 17x9" -13 RB or RB-R's. Can anyone comment if these brakes fit? I am pretty sure they do, but I do not want to say for certain. Additionally if anyone knows the diameter of the inside of the wheel at the narrowest point, that should help as well. Thanks guys! -Chris

To my knowledge no, you cannot get any offset you want. What made you come to that conclusion? Where did you read this? Copy & Paste.

It will not fit correctly in a 17x9.5 -19 or 17x9 -13. The backspacing is 4.5". That wheels BS is about 5.34". That is equivalent to a 17x9.5 +3 offset. So basically 22mm off... that is very very significant. You CAN put these wheels on that car if the pattern is 5x114.3 sure... but it will not fit right and it won't do much for your handling... You would be wasting .75" or so of BS and your scrub radius would be all FUBAR amongst other things... That is only my non-professional opinion, it is your choice though. Good luck!

I do not believe a 5-lug version is offered in this size and offset. If it were it still would not fit an S13, S14, or an S15. The offset is simply way too far negative. If you could get it to clear the fenders by hacking the body away, the fitment would still be incorrect and the car would probably not handle so well. You should be able to tell Kim what you want directly and order straight through him. He probably referred you here because a lot of people who may not exactly understand the special sizings, could potentially order a set of wheels that don't fit their car (be it 240sx, Supra, etc). If you want these wheels (17x9 -13 or 17x9.5 -19) do order them through Kim. If you continue to have issues - let me know.

That information is on page 22 post #433... It would be easier to just look at it here though. I do not know what size or offsets the wheels in this picture are, but the RB-R is ont he right and the RB on the left. RB-R has sunken in spokes. RB has spokes that curve out a bit then go back in.

I did not know until recently that Kim was accepting paypal. I have been told though by another group buyer who talked over the phone with Kim that that indeed IS the correct email address for paypal. It does seem strange and unprofessional, but apparently that is it. Going off memory the front RB-R's have a 2.5" lip, the rear 3" the RB's have a 3" lip all around. In reality the RB-R's appear to have more lip than the RB's due to the spoke design. As far as wondering how long the 'group buy' will go on. The group buy is basically over, but these wheels are in production, you can order them with out the necessity of a 'group' purchase. I do not know how long the price of the wheels will stay the same though. So far I still believe a set of four is only $700 including shipping if one pays with a postal MO. I am trying to understand why that RX-7 setup is any better than any of the other double wishbone setups we have seen so far (Lexus, Miata, cut up stock stuff, etc...). Just trying to understand why it is/was proposed? Am I missing something?

What? I am pretty reasonable with my neighbors. I basically just box my house in and blast AC now. Unfortunately all the smokers have to go out into my atrium to smoke instead of the backyard. No complaints last night and it was LOUD. =]

So I have been working on a subwoofer for my house! It is powered by a 1024 watt @ 4ohm amp, but it will be running at 1140 watt RMS into a 3.6ohm load. It is 96"x30"x24" and will weigh near 500lbs when complete. The sub should output SPL's continuously over 130db at 1 meter. Holds -3db down to 24hz, according to calculatuions. =] If I could have my cake and eat it too, the box would be 1800 liters which would allow the subwoofer to hold flat down to 22.5hz... within -1db!!!!!!!! Unfortunately reality dictates this box be no larger than 1000 liters or so, so it should hold -1db down to 28hz, or -3db down to 24hz - which is still impressive based on the relatively minimal cost of this project ($750). Unit includes 8 x 10" woofers, 4 x 4" mids, and 4 x 3" tweeters. The sub will also take the place of the center speaker for my 7.1 surround system. The mids and highs have a 300watt cross over set at 4500hz to take care of that end of things. This is definitely a learning process for me and is my first audio project of this kind. Hopefully it does not sound terrible or explode. Worse comes to worse it is an expensive, heavy, and impressive looking paper weight!

Sunfire subwoofers are amazingly powerful, especially for their size!

That isn't exactly what happened... Using launch control voids the warranty inherently... Using launch control destroys the transmission. So, it comes as no surprise a 'self destruct button' built into the car isn't really that well received.

Does this do 0-60 times in the 3.2 sec range WITH OUT LAUNCH CONTROL or with out voiding the warranty?

I am a poor college kid so here is what I run on the cheap and I think it sounds stellar. 1. Onkyo 7.1 Receiver 'TX-SR504' 2. 2 x Boston Acoustic CR6 (5.25" Woofer, .75" Tweeter) 3. 2 x Sharp 4" Mid 4. 2 x Sharp CP9570P (12" Woofer, 4" Mid, 3" Tweeter) 5. 1 x MTX SW1 10" 100w Subwoofer All in all I paid $230 for this setup. $100 for the receiver, $50 for the sub, $80 for the sharp speakers and the Bostons were hand me downs. I then spent an additional $60 in speaker wire to actually make the whole thing 'work'. It is not a studio quality experience I am sure, but it sounds pretty awesome to my ears and everyone that comes over enjoys the sound. This setup in conjunction with my ~9ft by 6ft projected video screen really brings you into the movie experience. I am currently building a second subwoofer for parties primarily, but it will sit between the two main speakers under the projected screen... conceivably it could just stand up in the corner of the room, but I think I would have to secure it somehow. The specs read: Freq Range 26hz-200hz (-3db) Drivers: 880 watt RMS, 1760 watt peak Max SPL at 100 watts - 130db Amplifier: 1024 watt RMS 8 x 10" Subwoofers 4 x 4" Mid Bass (the sub will also serve as a center speaker...) 4 x 3" Tweeters (the sub will also serve as a center speaker...) Outside dimension... 96"x30"x24". Approximate weight... 400lbs. I have about $750 invested in this bad boy. Hopefully it doesn't sound like crap when I am done. =] To answer the OP's question about test songs... Well... I like to test with: Trentemoller - Moan (Trentemoller Remix) Chemical Brothers - Bass Test SebastiAn - Walkman (Re-Edit) Benny Benassi - Light Realistically though the best way to test these things is to play a wide range of genres and a large quantity of songs at a good volume. That way you will see where the 'holes' are. Or you could buy/download a signal generator to send the speakers different frequencies. That plus a db meter would tell you some things.

It isn't so much a 'group buy' anymore. The wheels are simply available now. Order them if you want them. I do not know how long they will be available for. That is anyones best guess. As dsommer mentioned though... as long as there is a significant demand there shall naturally be a supply.

I believe the RB style may no longer be made in the 17x9" and 17x9.5" due to lack of order volume. There should definitely be RB-R's though. That is what Kim probably meant. If I remember correctly though, Kim may have some RB's in Flat Black left over, as this was an unpopular color. You would have to talk with him more in depth on this one.

It would probably be the same with the 9.5". I don't know anything about the suspension techniques springs or you're drop, just making sure it isn't doing this on a stock or coilover setup! Is the 9" also flush in the rear? I never mounted a 9" on the rear of the 280zx.

You can definitely fit a much wider wheel out back if you have coil overs. Up front if you keep the over all diameter down you could probably fit a 9" wheel just fine. Steering angle might be limited a bit though. Its not really the wheel that is the issue for getting max width in. It is the tire... that is to say with the larger tire diameters it becomes increasingly difficult to make them work. You may be able to fit a tire with a 22" OD up to a 9.5" rim on the front but with a 24" OD maybe only something around a 8.5". Those are fictional numbers, but that is the general idea.
