  1. Well' date=' for what it's worth I drive a total 90 miles every day to get to work and back. At that rate, a 2-3 mpg increase, no matter if its psychological, gynecological, trans-epidermal or endo-thermal pays for itself over the course of only a month or so. I got mine on Ebay (Where else?) for a whopping $35.00. And I STILL have it installed, probably more because I like the little CARB sticker in my engine bay than anything else. :P

     

    I think there is also a lot of validity in the Jeepshavecrappycombustionchambers theory. Mine gets exactly the same mileage weather I'm doing donuts in the church parking lot at 2:00 am, or cruising the freeway at 80 mph. I can only attribute this to sub standard combustion chamber design. Ok, discuss amongst yourselves.... :)

    How can more air resistance fix it tho????HONNESTLY IT DOSE NOT have enough surface area to effect the airflow down stream... dose anyone remember the "air straighteners" for turbos? it was suposta make the air uniform for the turbos to make spooling faster and decrease lag????? I might buy one and make a home made wind tunnel using smoke and a aquarium....maybe Ill skip the air and do a hydrodynamics test in the pool with it.... pop the tornado in the pools return in various places and see how it effects the flow in the pool using maybe that blue pool dye that checks for leaks.... I wish My cousin still worked at NCAR.... then i cold play with that tank in the lobby that's designed for this kinda stuff.......

  2. i used to be with the suby community and what people used to do with the wrx's and rs's to convert to rwd (mainly for drifting) was to weld up the center diff and then plug up the front cv's. there was also a japanese company that made a kit to do it but i can't remember who they were exactly. just search the suby forums (i-club.com, nasioc.com, or rs25.com).

     

    WTF I utsa hang out with a few skyline guys that just had like A VSD I think it was called and set the car to all rear bias for drift... why do all that to kill the AWD?... also AWD drift is HOT...... I've seen Umm one of the Vr-4s drifting localy when i was into drift (not a GTO, it was a Galant) I've seen other AWD drifters too not to mention the Evo's are HOT drift cars and are AWD....

     

     

    Although none of you have been to Mt. Haruna... Ill tell you this AWD drift > RWD > FWD (YES FWD drift CAN BE DONE I've seen an EF drift... Done by Kyle Arai at a few Drift events....

    ALSO I DONT BUY THE GUYS STORY..... Check his history he seems to be buying and selling ALOT fo cars... I dont think the Z was his..... Just my 2 cents...

I am going to build one from the ground up for an LS2 and a Tube frame....... :evil: I just need some poor fool to rear-end me...... and then ill have money and a parts car :evil: or someone to pull out infront of me again at the mall like last night... WTF DO PEOPLE NOT UNDERSTAND ABOUT THAT LANE HAS NO STOP SIGN???????????????????!!!!!!!?!?!? ::hulkout:: GRRRRRRRRR I ought to just cream the next person that gets in my way.....

  5. Last night it got worse.... it felt like my back end hoped off the road when i accelrated mid turn..... I ended up with a TON of oversteer when i exited the corrner.... I still cant figure out what the hell is going on with my rear suspension.... Had the car up on the jack stands this morning and everything seems to be in order... I know my springs are a little soft... but I am not dumping money into this car befor i get my swap done with the rear end.

  6. Bottom Line a Properly tuned Carb is as good as a EFI set up? Power make the same power... b/c you can NOT get more potential energy out of Gas bottom line gas in a performance engine is already burning as much gas as it can as efficiently as it can (as long as it breaths right)...... EFI makes better mileage and had a better range of operational values.......

  7. This bone head in a car club i hang out with SWARES that b.c his 4.6 Mach 1 mustang makes as much as my carbed 5.7 zz4 that FI must be FAR superior... I know this is not true... the reason his engine makes more power is b/c he has the 32 valve heads... and it breaths alot betters thats all......

     

    Was there not a thing In a Main stream Maginzie recently about How FI Dose Not make more power over Carbs? and infact looses you some power? the only reason that the they use FI on everything is B/c its easyer to keep tuned... its cleaner... and you get better milage....

     

     

     

    Also if Carbs where SO far inferior would they not just stop using them.... and last i checked most Drag cars dont use FI......

  8. i had a turbo 02 civic si and your right about other cars challenging hondas... its almost like you cant turn down the fight. It was definitely a fun car to drive (297hp, 243lbtq), i would look more into building an eg or ek and dropping a k20a2, k24a2 motor.

     

    my friend Drives an EK with a B16A its nice... he did the swap like maybe 4 years ago now and back then i think he paid more for his B16A then i did for my Z I only know this b/c i went to pick it up with him in like Lynwood or somewhere down there .... nice shop... too much rice for my blood...but.... I am still not the biggest fan of FWD... and Vtec is over rated IMO... but it was a nice car... I think it dynod at 300~ horse he has a problem with keeping a decent line in a corrner.. but then again neither of us are race car drivers....:icon56:

  9. God I just don't know.....I think its all psychologically....

     

    I usta have a hybrid (Civic) stick... I drove the snot out of it and got a whopping 35 MPG consistently for 15k miles..... my mom drove it for 6 months and was getting 47-55 mpg... my sister drove it then for going on 2 years now.... and consistently gets 40mpg.... so? is letting you mom drive your car the new way to save gas? I think not... I think it all in how aggressive you are with the car... and by putting in this ****... i think you subconsciously change your driving habits...
