Now thats funny!!!!!
What's really funny is that I'm probably the only person in this thread who's contacted the company and is discussing pricing for the blocks, the cutting jigs, and the plan software. Having built a couple headers for customers I KNOW how much time this can save me in my work. -
I guess thats the problem with email ....sometimes its difficult to tell.
Its all behind me now.....Ive vented.
HAHA...here and to my CEO! What a morning.
Come on it was joke. -

With all due respect John , its a matter of style, presentation and consideration. Please review the manner in which the response was made. It sounds very disrespectful.
You could have used the same amount of time and typed....
""Smurf tubing has been discussed in length. If you do a search you will find all you need to know"
instead of
"There's this thing called a "search engine" and if you put in the words "smurf tubing" and press Enter, all will be revealed..."
As you see the two examples come across with a very different tone.
The reason I support this forum is because of the strict guidelines the admins keep on content, behavior and overall direction of the discussions. Its a fun, clean, mature and informative forum.
As a supporter I trust the admins to keep "order" in these regards by enforcement and example.
It really has nothing to do with 'spoon feeding".
Respectfully
Jerryb
There's this thing called a "search engine" and if you put in the words "smurf tubing" and press Enter, all will be revealed... -
True enough!! One of the most difficult things to change on a S30...... if you dont have a press. Lots of pre-WD-40ing , a big hammer and a beer per side usualy gets the job done. CONGRATS!
A tip for future removal....Before re-assembly I smeer that zinc anti sieze all over the spindle. Most of it wipes off but enough stays to make a difference.
I hate doing it!
two40zjunky: you have just completed a right of passage in the zcar owners club. The spindle pins are a notoriously difficult job on these cars. Well done! -
I dont see smurf tubing very practical. It may bend well but doesn keep its shape at all. It wants to straighten out.
The beauty of the lego tubes is as Careless indicates..... Everything is measured out and easy to replicate off the car. Hey...if you do 5 custom jobs for your friends its paid for itself and then some!!!..a lot of $ome!
Id like to see a smurf based rendering next to a lego rendering that is equaly as good.

Smurf tube is corrugated PVC flexible tubing used to provide an easy method of upgrading structured wiring systems. The tube is run from the distribution panel to each outlet during the prewiring construction phase. Retrofit wiring can easily be pulled through the tubes without painstaking cable snaking. The most common type, Flex-Plus Blue ENT, is manufactured by Carlon, Cleveland, Ohio. Workers nicknamed it “smurf tube” because of its distinctive blue color.
Looks like the same stuff that came with my baracuda pool vacuum. Its not the same as the lego stuff....not nearly as adaptable.
-
You can do the same using cheap electrical Smurf tubing from Home depot.
What is Smurf tubing:?:

Nice...If you are good with a welder you could make your money back in a heart beat! Very $$nice$$!

Agreed.....have you ever noticed that the front of the GTR looks a lot like a certain Mistibishi model????????
Send this guy to Nissan and fire the guy who designed the GTR body. The GTR is so ugly I wouldn't buy it at half the price. But I'd buy two of Grid's cars today. -
Im not sold on the front end but that wouldnt stop me from buying the car. WOW, that fellow did amazing work.

One more...an option I have considered but never tried is to pop in threaded rivets and then just use an appropriate bolt with a small rounded head. They could be coloured black with a Sharpie marker. It may make life real easy.
-
I use these rivets...Nissan part# 66860-01W01. They are not any cheaper but completely reusable because the have a phillips head. You still press them in like original rivets but then screw them out instead of pushing the center post through.
Just one thing....you need to redrill the sheet metal holes one size larger.
Cheers

I believe they are the same size. Your sway bar bushing are just compressed and distorted from old age.
Get new ones!!! Your ride will be much tighter.

I would never seriously suggest you are baned for a comment of this nature....its just my flippy response, sorry if it came across hard ass.
I look at it this way...that Pantera is of vintage collector status....it made it this far because its unique and not "just a car" ..... it is a shame to see its not being taken cared for.
Choice of words can have powerful interpretations.....as we both are seeing.
-
PLEASE SHOW THE FINAL INSTALL!!!!! ....front and back.
Thanx!
-
Ban this dude!
They're just cars... -
The Pantera doent derseve to be treated like that.......one of my favorite care as well...a shame!
-
LOL.....Bulgy flares like the 350Z...a muscular behind. Im my eyes...
Say what? -
Looks like a good start. ....congrats! Keeps us updated on your project.

WOWOWOW!!! I love it for this reason....
"""1972 Datsun 240z full steel body street car 1320kg, all glass windows etc, street tyres, full exhaust with muffler, wastegate plumbed back to exhaust, full interior and with a tune that we could easily drive long distance with.
R.I.P.S usual off the shelf forged RB30 bottom end but this motor does NOT have our usual block brace as its 2wd, it is fully water cooled (no block filler), it has a stock crank, stock cradle, stock used mains bolts (no studs), normal wide oil pump drive, normal style oil pump, normal pickup and wet sump, forged flat top pistons and billet rods, a very basic combination.
R.I.P.S RB26 head, ported with cams and mild street springs which limit boost to 2 bar, R.I.P.S plenim, R.I.P.S 90mm throttle body, HKS exhaust manifold and T51r, aprox power for best runs 980whp.""""""
Just shows you that a lot of expensive parts dont make you faster....but a lot of experience and know-how can sure help pick out the parts that will.
It also demontrates how well NISSAN engineered the components!!
Congrats man!!!

Welding onto a casting is not always the strongest bond....but a pro welder Im not!
More importantly why are you considering this?
-
I would try bleeding them anyway...its quick and easy and will lead you to somethig else if its not the problem. It sure sounds like air in the lines!
Process of elimination!
-
Did you remove the calipers? If so you probably have air trapped somewhere.
Do you ever get sick of your car?
