Im finally getting around to building my 240z's gas tank. I will be installing the hyper fuel tight fit in tank retrofit kit with 525 lph pump to eventually power e85 on for my rb26 as well as a speed hut fuel float sender. Now that I have the tank cut open I'd like to weld in some baffles. After searching around online there are a lot of different methods being used, Iv came up with a few of my own and would like to get some feedback on them before going ahead if possible. Right around the pickup Im thinking about a maze like this and surrounding the maze im thinking the larger sized baffles to help with acceleration and braking as well as one to separate the larger chamber area from the thin area and potentially one more inside of the thin area. I will leave enough room on the side of the baffle for the float sensor. Im also planning to use the Por15 fuel tank sealer kit as its a bit rusty inside. Ironically if the baffles work too well it will make evenly coating it very difficult!

I've asked this on 5thGen's thread, but no reply yet and I'd like to move forward soon. If you look over his 1st page about removing the evap tank, I'm not sure exactly how he did it. I'm also not sure how he connected the -6AN Fitting that comes from the top driver's side outlet on the surge tank to the inlet on the gas tank. From what I'm understanding, it goes to an inlet that is much too small. Has anyone else done this? My thought would be to use an adapter (Like this: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/vpe-16892?seid=srese1&gclid=CjwKCAjw8NfrBRA7EiwAfiVJpWgvs863kF2WgH_YOME5HUUOxOF0s8TI0HXcfFaaPvXiXeFHR-YUQhoCmJcQAvD_BwE), but I feel like with how thorough 5thgen is he would've mentioned that. Leads me to believe he easily hooked it up without needing adapters. Any info/ideas are much appreciated! Here are a few more shots of the setup.

Hey guys, new here, should have joined up a lot sooner and that's on me, but I need help. I've been restoring a 240z for the past 3 years and i'm close to getting it up and running. Today I realized that the tank needs to be cleaned, but it has some rust. So worse case scenario i'm looking for a decently prices tank. I saw pro alloy, but it's a bit out of price range at the moment. I also saw Dorman, but they don't seem to sell one that fits the car. So I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions. Really looking for something that'll fit right in with with all of the fittings in the right places. The vehicle is still carbureted so I do still need the vapor lines.

Hello, We have a new/old Chump Car that we've got almost ready. In testing last week at Homestead Motor Speedway, we found the engine would stall because of fuel pressure or lack thereof, in left hand turns. My track fix was to pour more fuel in it. It would run normally with 16 gallons in it, but after 5-10 laps the problem would reoccur. The track runs counter clockwise so this is quite a problem. Essentially, we are able to use about 3 gallons of fuel if we're filled up. We have an SU Carb set up with a 1978 fuel tank, running the return system for the fuel to return to the tank. We were able to get fuel pressure and run the new engine in the garage with only 3 gallons in the tank, so I feel we at least have the pick up plumbed properly. I have run many street cars on the race track and never had this problem. Any ideas for me to check? Thanks, greg ira

I just put my car back together after my budget restoration. I had removed the fuel tank and painted it. When I reinstalled it, I had some difficulty finding anything to reference where the fuel tank nipples connect to, but I connected the bottom nipple to the outgoing fuel filter. The fuel pump is kicking on, and there is a little gas in the bottom of the filter, but it doesn't seem to be building pressure. I replaced the rubber lines under the car and have them tightly hose-clamped into place. If it matters, my car does not have a charcoal canister under the hood. The metal fuel line that connects to the canister is sitting open. The tank has ~7 gallons in it. Maybe the fuel tank doesn't have enough fuel for the pump to prime? Thoughts?
