Got tired of fighting with the turn signal lever to get the blinkers to activate. Worked on the OEM switch so many times that the circuit board finally broke. Here is an awesome repair solution.

I have been reading a ton on this site and am ready to post wiring directions on the combo switch for those of you using an EZ Wiring harness. There may be some differences between what model combo switch you have; the one I am working with is off of a 260z and has a 9 pin wiper connector. Some of you may disagree with my wire labeling; well you are wrong; I got it from a guy who restores the combo switches and has done so for over 2 decades. I am going to trust his info and my success with wiring. You will notice a few changes in my chart than in previous posts by other members. Again, I know mine works and has not been altered in any way from the original Datsun wire colors and functions. Let me know if you have any questions. I am running a full LED lighting system around the car. 260z Combo Switch to EZ Wiring Harness.pdf

Hello all, I seem to run into an issue with my turn signal lever and headlights. For some odd reason the wiring got hot and nothing works. All the wires on the boad on the lever is black and some are burnt through. Obvisuly I had a short or a fuse that didnt pop when it should have. Here is my million dollar question. I would like to rewire my entire car using a painless wiring kit, I would even use GM flashers and fuse box. My question is, does anyone have a wiring diagram or color codes of the wires on the turn signal switch and what they go to. Hot, Ground, etc.I searched the Archives but cant find anything. Its not like I want to hook up power to my car and start testing every connection, something else might fry. I would like to solder the new wires to the old switch to keep the nestaligic look. any thoughts or Ideas?? I seem to be a t a loss at this point. I just figured 30 + years of harsh climate and mice that all my wiring should be replaced. Any Help would be appreciated or a link would be gratefull. thanks again. DatsunZman04,

So I can't seem to figure out this electrical problem. My turn signal switch worked for a while and then stopped working. Park lights still work when the headlights are turned on and hazard lights work, The brake lights worked for a while but recently stopped working as well (not sure if caused by turn signal problem) So I tried cleaning the connections by following this write up: http://fiddlingwithzcars.wordpress.com/2012/12/04/turn-signal-repair/ and after they still don't work. So i borrowed a turn signal from another 72' 240z and still nothing so it has to be before the switch. Haven't had the chance to follow the wire and i'm not really looking forward to dealing with electrical since i just fixed an alternator problem which was a headache. Any input is appreciated.
