madkaw
I am also having starter issues- I believe that is your issue. I can jump across the selanoid and the starter will work again. I'm getting tired of Fu@€ing around with starters, it's hard to find A good rebuilt or remanned one. I'm about ready to drop 200$ on a remanned Hitachi! I just ordered a remanned AC DELCO, I hope it does better.
duragg
Funny thing is this is now the 2nd starter with the same condition. When the lockup occurs, the volts drop way down, so there is a real draw. But turning the engine with the tranny by pushing shows no resistance. From a safety perspective I worry about the flywheel. From a financial perspective, if the motor blows I will just rebuild it. My other toy is a radial engine aircraft and a lockup during that on start can be a $25k F/U. If my little Datsun motor pops, I will just build another.
duragg
240z long oil filter and Castrol 10w40 with one qt of 20w50 10-20-2012 Is starvation on certain turns normal? Maybe I have the wrong dipstick.
duragg
The little green motor served well for 2.5 years. 2013 I started really abusing it hard and it asked for a break. Had problems with Damper all along which contributed to some dizzy drive gear issues. Will address this problem in a motor refresh this winter. In the end the dizzy drive consumed itself. Which was fortuitus:
Xnke
Ah, yes, the lovely things that come with Power, Revs, and the L6.
Gollum
Ewww, have a look at the crank side to make sure it's all a-o-kay?
duragg
Both the crank gear and Dizzy drive shaft are toast. Gonna do a refresh and keep as a backup, or maybe some other fun experiments...
